Hi hon! I just want to say, I share the same thoughts. I remember when they first announced when the show was going to be coming back and be made in an animated style. I was excited and intrigued but a few weeks ago or maybe a month ago when they said that only Rochelle and Julius were playing their respective roles and not Chris, drew, Tonya and Greg (because they got new actors to play them) I was immediately skeptical however it’s nice to see Tyler James Williams who played Chris in the original be a producer on show. I watched the pilot as well and was happy that it was a continuation too! Like you said the homages were good and even the side characters such as Vanessa (the hair salon owner who made Chris’s cake and Rochelle’s best friend), Jerome (let me hold a dollar), Mr Omar and Ms Morello now being the principal and still stuck in her ways were nice to see after so many years. I believe it has potential but it’s yet to be seen. I hope that as the episodes are released they get better and will be loved just as the live action one is and if not we always have the love action one. ❤
Honestly I love this new version. I like how they picked up on where they left off. Also the fact that he failed due to Julius being cheap is golden😭.
