North Korea and Russia's suspected military collaboration appears to be in motion, with a North Korean delegation of military education officials leaving Pyongyang on Monday to visit Russia.
According to Russian state media outlet TASS on Tuesday, when asked about the purpose of the visit, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declined to answer but said that Russia is aiming to develop and deepen relations with North Korea in all possible areas as an extension of the agreement signed after Vladimir Putin's visit to North Korea.
The North's state-run Korean Central News Agency reported on Monday that a delegation led by Kim Geum-chol, President of the Kim Il-sung Military University had left for Russia.
A South Korean unification ministry official told reporters on Tuesday that if there are any tangible military exchanges as a follow-up, the UN Security Council sanctions committee will determine whether there have been any violations.
