It's old people with dementia who fall for those email scams. I've seen it. They lose their ability see deception and become highly susceptible to scammers and advertising on TV etc.

You can Google the invitations. Celebrities are posting them and Joe is right it is very clear English isn't their first language. They will start by "I hope this finds you well I am (so and so) from Joe Rogan management." It's like they use old world proper grammar. Some of them read like a person from 1940 wrote it.
I got these scams by letter in the '80s and '90s. They came in weird foreign envelopes with some real interesting stamps and always on some very thin velum type paper. All typed and signed with a flourish. It was amusing.

I think you mean ‘onion skin’ paper. Velum type paper would be thick, like animal skin, which is what vellum is.

IQ talk remindes me of Army draft I had to attend in Chicago in 1963. Ran into a buddy and he had a another friend with him. After physical was quiz of 50 or so questions. My buddy and I both had 96 for score and his friend 97. Next highest score was mid 70's. In a group of 50 guys the great majority scored between 45 and 60 with a few in the 20's and 30's. A real eye opener.

Yeah, I get trolled via UA-cam comment replies that pose as you or whomever's channels I have commented on. They hit me up all the time. I did some research to verify the falsehood. ❤️🇺🇲
I got one of those emails about appearing on Rogan’s podcast. It had to have been someone who knew me because they asked to speak about something specific about me.
This is why Facebook is messed up, maybe you have some details and a friend has been hacked, so they get a way in, I don’t know. But that would make you feel vulnerable yeah?

My Boss's wife was a hair stylist. She had a customer for years in her 60s, the type of lady who came once a week to get her hair styled. So she gets an email from Johnny Depp, this is during the Amber Heard shit. This lady talks to this person via email, never on the phone and she tells my boss's wife at the salon. She feels bad so she hints can you verify its him, so the next week she claims to have talked to him. She's comforting "Jonny Depp" throughout the trial. She lends him money. Gets caught, Husband divorces her, she gets half his shit. Kids stop talking to her. She's continues to send money for "Jonny Depp's" court fees and is living in a hotel room. She lost everything, husband got a new wife in his 60s and she ended up broke. She was talking to some African con artist. People are so dumb.
There’s a channel dedicated to showing victims of these scams that it is indeed a scam. Most of them are kinda sad I forget the channel name.

I'm 36 and remember my mom rolling coins to cash in at the bank and I've done so as an adult. I feel old.
