I bought the "Perfect Robotech Soundtrack" 2 disc CD set in 1996 through mail order, and it was literally my most precious possession for the longest time, in a pre modern internet world.

I am 47 and love the song always have but I have given up on finding true love it does not exist so I am just going to enjoy being single because it is way better than being with someone who makes you feel alone

I still can't believe they did that to Minmay. I remember starting with Robotech then finding Macross Plus and Macross 2 read a magazine called Anime Invasion and made it all the way to OG Macross. No offense to the English Minmay but even when I first watched Robotech I cringed hearing her songs but hearing Mari Ijima it was Night and day. Even now this still sounds bad Imo like why is this even in my feed?

I didn't know Voltron and Speed Racer were anime until SciFi channel aired anime on saturdays.But going on Minmay Macek didn't like the idea of a woman's song being powerful so they just downplayed it. Man it was something growin up with anime though. Ronin Warriors Samurai Pizza Cats Pokemon (LOL Teknoman aka Tekkaman Blade) Adults in charge didn't know we would embrace Japanese music we didn't mind at all. It is just my opinion, not fact, but I liked the idea of Rick and Lisa from day one. Maybe it was because I liked her myself (I was 9), or maybe it was her professionalism. The reason that always come to my mind when I ask myself why I liked Lisa from the start is that a military man in Rick's position of an ace, officer while under the constant threat of attack would have a very hard time seeing his civilian love consistently. Not only on Rick's end, but remember that Minmey was a star of such high caliber that throughout the next 30 years people kept singing her songs as well as the fact that Minmey was young in all of this and it was shown in the show that she had an understandable need for attention. Put the two together and it would be a romantic catastrophe. Yes, the love would be passionate the small time they would get to see each other, but it would not make a heathy relationship, and that is excluding the possibility of children and what their psychological family life would have been like. 1. I never expected to write that large a comment. 2. I never had and do not now have, many reasons for Lisa, just that she is a better option due to the wreck a Minmey relationship would be. 3.
