This was extremely helpful - please don't ever delete this video. I just got two Nanlite Pavotube II 30XR recently and had no clue on how to use the app. As an added note for anybody who has the same pavotubes as me, I was able to connect the tubes via bluetooth without having to update the firmware or reset -- I just had to turn them on and connect them in the app and I was good to go.
I just got two 15x and two 30x tubes. When I initially turned them on I saw them on the app and once connected the app didn't control the light. So I deleted the fixture and now it won't find the tubes again...any ideas? I've attempted resetting and my tubes are on V1.01.15

So they are releasing a new control box which will allow you to connect video 2.4ghz like the nanlink remote. Will have to wait for more on this though🥳
hello. I cannot connect pavotube II 15x to nanlink app. When you turn on the bluetooth reset item in the menu, the handset freezes and starts to get very hot and nothing happens, does not respond to button presses.
same thing is happening to my friends 15X's and my 30x do not even have the BT Reset option in the menu, instead it says Version: 1.01.12 lol looks like Nanlite still has a lot of updating to do with their app and these lights SMH
@@ImJasonAnthony If the BT option isn't available it's because it doesn't have the latest firmware. They will be releasing it soon, as it's only in Beta still.
Man my issue is weird. I insert my drive and when I turn on the tube, the logo appears, then glitches and then reappears again, then it's just a constant loop. T_T anyone else having this issue?
Why the heck do I need to create an online account just to use my Pavotubes via Bluetooth. This is soo frustrating. Can’t they stop that BS and just make it work in offline mode like a normal Bluetooth Speaker does.

Hello, I have just bought 4 pavotube 30x and I have a problem in the application, I explain. I create a new scene (which I will name 4 tubes) in which I create a group with my 4 pavotube. I create several setting presets with a 4 tubes configuration. So far no problem. However, when I want to create a new scene (which I will name 2 tubes), it is impossible to find the pavotubes in the bluetooth. The only way to find them would be to reset the bluetooth in the tube but then it would disappear in my other scene (4 tubes). Why it does not work?
Hi Benjamin. I do have the same problem. Getting crazy. Tried so much. No answer of the support. Being able to only have one scene without having to reset bluetooth on the fixtures every time for a new scene and loosing all the old scenes, can not be the intention of the app. Would turn it useless.Could you fix the problem? I just got a question off a colleague of mine, which RGB tubes I am using and if I can recommend your tubes. Well, until my problems I could have done it. But now, it is a definite no. Lights are good. App and service is not. Well, let´s get back to the point: This is part of my conversation with them: Me: After I created and used scene X, I need to reset Bluetooth on all fixtures to be able set up a new scene Y. Correct? If correct, I will never be able to switch from one scene to another without having to go to all fixtures. So no direct switch from Scene X to Y while the camera is rolling. Second scenario: I created scene X, used it, exit it and create a new scene Y. For doing that I need to reset bluetooth on all fixtures. Then I use scene Y and want to use scene X again. But there is no way to activate the fixtures of scene X again. The app always states the following. (See screenshot attached) Even when I reset bluetooth on all fixtures again. There is still the same message. No way to go back to an older scene. Them: The situation in the picture you provided, it is because the fixtures had existed in scene Y, they will be controlled by scene Y. So you couldnot search out them in scene X. When you reset the Bluetooth, that means you make the fixture searchable by any scene. When you choose any scene to connect them, the scene will "own" the fixtures, and other scenes cannot control them. Me: Even when I Rest Bluetooth, I can not return to scene x. @@matw6364 Hello, I have exactly the same problem. I have contacted them and am waiting to hear back. I remind them that at Aputure there is no problem to have the same light in several scenes. I think it's crazy that this isn't possible. I'm even wondering if I won't sell them and get the new neon lights from Aputure. They're a bit more expensive, but the quality of the hardware and software is spot on. I'm asking them if their external connection box will solve this problem. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

They don't really answer to my questions as the are asked. Pretty annoying: Here´s what they said: Hello Matthias, If you connect the 30X via 2.4G (i.e. WS-TB-1 box) on the app, you can add the same 30X in different scenes. Because in this situation, the connection is based on the address. But if you connect it via Bluetooth, the connection is based on the fixture itself, it has uniqueness. regards
Hey! So different scenes aren't really designed for the same lights. This is more to be used if you are using different fixtures in different spaces. Otherwise just keep them all in the same scene.

Thank you for the video. I downloaded the linked app from the description. But it seems like a complete different app than the one shown. And I also can't connect any pavotubes (even if they're updated).
@@AndrewMurphyFilms The battery indicator reads one bar but it says 14 hours left. I contacted Nanlite and they said its probably a power board problem. I wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem. I can't get a simple reading of battery because I get 2 different answers, but I'm pretty sure it has battery when it cuts off.

You just need to reset the bluetooth so they go into pairing mode again :)
I used the same exact flash drive and I'm not getting the update screen. MY version is currently on V1.01.12 what may I be doing wrong?
You may need to do 2 updates to get it to the latest firmware. Update to the next available firmware first. Then load up the latest firmware :)

Only had the PavoTube 15x connected. The PavoTube C series don’t have Bluetooth so won’t work with the app unfortunately.

You might need to update the firmware. Keep an eye on the NanLite website for the latest firmware being released very soon

Depends which light you are using. If you are using older lights that don't have bluetooth built in, then yes you will need to

Not sure what you mean by it's connected to a phone? You can connect this tubes to any phone. You might just need to reset the bluetooth

None of the Pixel modes will work on the Older tubes. However all the other modes should work :)

You can dim to 0% but not completely turn them off as they need Bluetooth on still to connect to the app

For me it doesnt work with 6C II, so basicaly nanlite lost all of my money 👎
If you didn't update to the latest firmware to enable bluetooth then it won't work

You're refering to the wireless protocol which is the 2.4ghz band. The bluetooth function is completely seperate from this.

Yes 6C ii can be connected directly. You just need the latest firmware to enable the bluetooth

Ahh yes i've heard about the power board causing issues. I beleive that mine has the same issue, just experienced it on a shoot last weekend

Is this pavotube 1 or pavotube 2?
It works with both. But you need the Nanlink transmitter box to control the pavotube series 1 as they don't have bluetooth in them
