  • After scoring perfect, pumping Lances Right, we decided to hang around in the Mentawais. We were greeted by a dreamy, medium sized swell, allowing us to bring you a taste of hollow trees in a more playful mood. The waves were ripable with a few barrels in between turns. We thought we’d give you a taste of what HT’s is like when it’s not 8ft pumping barrels.

I love days like this out there, but it's also a day you're more likely to get cut. I'm a goofy, and I've been in that situation as the first rider so many times: you do all the hard work and travel forever and then that little craggie part on the Surgeons Table gobbles you at the end, putting you on basically dry reef.
