You could argue that there are many others... Corey Taylor, Emily Armstrong, Kin Etik, Tatiana Shmailyuk, Phil Freeman, James Keenan are just examples of some of the best singers.
I discovered Rival Sons at the Black Sabbath show in Tacoma, WA. I'm 55 and tend to listen to my own collection so I had never heard of them. They blew me away. I immediately bought 3 of their CD's to explore and I seem kind of mesmerized by them. "Where I've Been" is particularly poignant. I am a clean coke addict from the 80's. It almost killed me a few times. Looking back now after listening to this song and thinking about the title it sums up all of the low self esteem issues I have ever dealt with. I cry every time i listen to it or think about it. I believe you guys have helped me more than you know. Thank you.
Thanks. I had lots of help and I also didn't want to die. I posted this to the wrong song but look for "Where I've been" if you get the chance. Between the lyrics, music, and Jay's delivery it's a heart full.
Check out the Marcus King Band. If you like Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks and the Allman Brothers. Marcus is a talented guitar player and his voice is old school outstanding.
Damn dudes, you killed the hell out of that performance !! I am highly impressed by your talent !!! Your a good shot in the arm for rock n roll !!!! Keep it up !!! Your 60 year old fan !!!
Heard this cover about 5 years ago, and loved it, listened to it like 30 times, it amazing, didn't know it was a cover though. But then about 3 years ago I got Credence Clearwater greatest hits CD for my car, and realised that it was original by Credence. Gotta say, I still prefer this cover by Rival Sons. Its just so so so good man.
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Watched them so often and will ever do again. And that cover is awesome! CCR was the band my mother used to hear and she's left that record with us when she left our family when I was about 4 years old. Thanks for bringing that song back to mind in such a beautiful way. I'll see you again when you are touring Germany next time!
This is a band I can listen to start to finish. You know! The music that you follow from the start and then you just cant seem to stop. Every bit of their music reaches me. It makes me feel something.
Put a candle in the window 'Cause I feel I've gotta move Though I'm goin', goin' I'll be comin' home soon Long as I can see the light Pack my bag and let's get moving 'Cause I'm bound to drift awhile Though I'm gone, gone You don't have to worry Long as I can see the light Guess I've got that old travelin' bone 'Cause this feeling won't leave alone But I won't, won't Be losin' my way Long as I can see the light Yeah Yeah Yeah Oh yeah Put a candle in the window 'Cause I feel I've gotta move Though I'm goin', goin' I'll be comin' home soon Long as I can see the light Long as I can see the light Long as I can see the light Long as I can see the light Long as I can see the light
Was listening to the original when this popped up. Never heard of these guys before and I'm glad I clicked on it. This was very impressive. Very few could ever do anything Fogarty sings any kind of justice but the singer here did exactly that. Great tone and flow. Quality all around, particularly the guitar player doing the sax part. I'll be checking out more of their stuff. Hopefully it is at this level of creativity skill and musicianship.
Captivating Eyes like a baby Doe... Voice like fresh Honey drippin off the Comb..... Beauty like a Diamond in the Sun..... Soul of a thousand years. Elise is Heaven on High Heels.
My sense of Jay's voice is a strange but wonderful mixture of Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin. There's been a genuine thirst, I think, for a band like R.S. in today's world. Rock and roll is truly alive again. Thank you guys. (I can't wait to see all of you Live in Hollywood this September) ✌️
I'm going to see they playing in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) in december, opening for Black Sabbath. So I searched for some songs and now I'm as excited for them as for Sabbath, and as a fan of John Fogerty I enjoyed so much this cover. Always great discover new bands and songs.
that booming big echo down the hall sound is great and very 70s (that isnt a bad thing) i just wish it was a little lower in the mix. the drums in this were a bit louder than needed and that is coming from a drummer.
You guys can at this point cannot do any wrong. Can't wait for the new vinyl to drop. Hope you playing Nashville when it does we are gonna make trip #3
This guy is hands down, the best singer in music right now!
Absolutely.
You could argue that there are many others... Corey Taylor, Emily Armstrong, Kin Etik, Tatiana Shmailyuk, Phil Freeman, James Keenan are just examples of some of the best singers.
@@andrewh.8082 that's what makes opinions fun and interesting. None of them need to be "argued"....
Josh Teskey
Great vocals , this old Hippie has hope ! More groovy music . CCR did this yonks ago and it's soooo well covered ❤❤❤

+Sherra Edwards your recovery and turnaround good to hear. Well done...and keep up the outstanding work!
It is a cover from the band Creedence Clearwater Revival from the 60s. But this is a stunning cover. Well done recovering :)
Thanks. I had lots of help and I also didn't want to die. I posted this to the wrong song but look for "Where I've been" if you get the chance. Between the lyrics, music, and Jay's delivery it's a heart full.
@Sherra. Hun, your post did make my eyes moist. Looking forward to Rival Sons in Copenhagen 1. march 2017
Enjoy! They are great live!
With Rival Sons and Greta van Fleet and a handful of young bands coming up... rock n roll just might live on. Great job here.
The New hope of the rnr
Check out the Marcus King Band. If you like Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks and the Allman Brothers. Marcus is a talented guitar player and his voice is old school outstanding.

Same here! Amazing cover. You'd probably like Colby acuff-- hard living life. Great tune
That rug really ties the room together!
i was thinking...damn tis' a fine rug
Fukn A man
It's too help with recording, stops the sound getting distorted.
I don't think the rug was used for any sound purposes. they only put it there because it really ties the room together
Orion drum, Rival Sons abides.
L'originale dei ccr e ineguagliabile...e poi c'è l'assolo di sax più bello del mondo. Inarrivabili!
I've grown up listening to song this song by CCR, this is a great tribute
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Watched them so often and will ever do again. And that cover is awesome! CCR was the band my mother used to hear and she's left that record with us when she left our family when I was about 4 years old.

I feel like even John Fogerty would have shed a tear for this one 😅
This is a band I can listen to start to finish. You know! The music that you follow from the start and then you just cant seem to stop. Every bit of their music reaches me. It makes me feel something.
I dare say it is as good as the original song if not better. What a beautiful homage to CCR!
it will never be anything better than the original, maybe equal...?
Exactly what I was thinking. just as the first few lines finished, i was like wow, this is great, what a nice CCR Vibe.
Better? Not even close, but hands down the best Creedence cover I've heard, but Creedence version is on another planet.
Dad had a huge Curtis Mathes stereo with several 8 tracks and Credence Clearwater Revival was one of them. Rest in Peace pop I love and miss you.
Put a candle in the window
'Cause I feel I've gotta move
Though I'm goin', goin'
I'll be comin' home soon
Long as I can see the light
Pack my bag and let's get moving
'Cause I'm bound to drift awhile
Though I'm gone, gone
You don't have to worry
Long as I can see the light
Guess I've got that old travelin' bone
'Cause this feeling won't leave alone
But I won't, won't
Be losin' my way
Long as I can see the light
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Oh yeah
Put a candle in the window
'Cause I feel I've gotta move
Though I'm goin', goin'
I'll be comin' home soon
Long as I can see the light
Long as I can see the light
Long as I can see the light
Long as I can see the light
Long as I can see the light

Они жёлт более забойные вещи!!!
Делают!!!
Love them , the vocals are up there, really high , guitars on speed ❤❤❤
Very few groups play with the soul and balls of Rival Sons. Pound for pound the best rock act going!
They floored me at a show at The Paradise in Boston about 5 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since, super nice guys too.
Your musical essence is like going back to 1968 or so. My father played guitar for Leon Russell and wrecking crew. I enjoy your music brothers
Excellent cover from an excellent band. This video should have millions of views.
Wow! Some of my favorite old time singers hav done this song and this ones the best I've heard, never even heard of these guys before I found this

A very credible job done on a song that I have loved since it first came out. John Fogerty will be proud.

Love the sound of the kick drum
that booming big echo down the hall sound is great and very 70s (that isnt a bad thing) i just wish it was a little lower in the mix. the drums in this were a bit louder than needed and that is coming from a drummer.
