- The first day of passenger services after they were suspended in 1994, with a steam hauled train between Ongar and North Weald which was 'topped & tailed' by GWR pair 4953 4-6-0 "Pitchford Hall" and visiting Pannier Tank 6430. As the line has yet to be extended through to Epping there was a Diesel hauled shuttle between North Weald and Coopersale, which was in the charge of 31438 and 03170, replacing the unfortunately failed class 37 D6729 which looked immaculate in BR Green.
Good videos; are they going to do something with that corrugated carbuncle? I've seen pallets of bricks in the vicinity, are they building a proper loco shed?
Great video AJR
I had a great day and look forward to coming back in July, I will try to make it when D6729 is running, I always prefer the early diesels in green, much better than the blue era.
Looks like a great day for everyone!
super film this one
Not the first time since 1994 this is the second attempt at running a railway here (and it is much more successful this time). Although it has to be said pitchford hall is a wee bit too powerful and big for this line but it's still nice to see and travel behind
Ahh the tin shed!
They were supposed to build a loco shed, the foundations are there but....?
I believe it was only a minor fault, and that it was running the following day.
Are they gonna repair the Class 37?
Look at that twerp at 10:08.
