Alex, your shop used to be interesting but since you’ve let go of your treasures your shop is now a work of art. You have such an artistic eye for not only collecting the antiques but also displaying them. Your shop keeps looking better and better and I’m sure when the coffee shop is open it will be awesome. I’m expecting it to become just like you imagined it. It’s a really cool shop and the neighborhood will love it and support it. That’s how neighborhoods were before all the ‘chains’. Looking forward to seeing your next dream come true of a larger homestead.
My grandmother had one of those china Black Panthers under her coffee table that I was fascinated with when crawling around on the floor! Extremely cool shop, impeccably merchandised. 👍👍
The shop is looking better than ever! Turned out amazing. Congratulations! 🤗❤ The kids must have a really good time in there. It's truly an interesting place to explore, not just 'old stuff' on a shelf. 👍
BTW, I had to keep pausing your video today!!! I had to keep pausing, and running around my home checking each smoke detector!!! I just purchased new, and replaced all batteries. SO ALEX, thanks for that little workout. LMAO xoxo
Thanks for sharing this with us Alex! The shop looks fantastic! I love everything you have done here! It's a smooth and interesting walk-thru with many eye-catching items that make you stop and get a closer look at things! Very nice indeed! Take care everybody! Peace to all...💜💙💜
LOVE THIS VISION for the store and cafe you shared here! PS The band machine is your live music for the cafe! Your slogan for turnover is... Buy For Now!
For 5 minutes I was wondering why my smoke detectors were beeping (they are electric) and kept watching one of them to see the light blinked. Good one, Alex... lol
Amazing store. I have never been to a store like that in England. It's like a cross between the coolest charity/thrift store and Harrods where it is said you can buy anything.
That player guitar sounded kinda spooky, ha! If I were back there by myself and it started playing, the hair on the back of my head would probably stand up.
LOL I just spent 5 minutes walking around, trying to figure out where the beep was coming from! Thought it was my smoke alarm, when I figured out that wasn’t it, I had to check every room!
Same here! I kind of thought it might be in the video because at one point when he moved it was louder. Then I decided I imagined that and was getting ready to pull my step stool out when he said it was his. Nothing can drive me nuts like a beeping smoke alarm.
I’m glad you said it was your smoke alarm bleeping - I was about to have to get my ladders out at 10pm thinking it was mine and I wouldn’t be able to sleep with that noise
I am so glad you explained the smoke detector noise! I thought it was happening in my apartment because my dog is freaking out and is now hiding under the bed! I also let my landlady know but she had to change the battery in the smoke detector! The sound was exactly like what it sounds like in my house.
I would KILL to come visit man. I collect knives, zippos, fountain pens and pocket watches. I could spend all day in there just gawking with my mouth agape. The store looks absolutely incredible. Keep up the great work. Also, LOL. your smoke detector low battery beep had me walking around my house and yelling to my housemate to check if we have a low battery on one of our smoke detectors. Damnit, I should've made it to 21:19 and I could have saved a headache!
The store looks GREAT!!!!! I wish you would invest in a steady cam. Struggled watching this because of the movement. So excited to see the new building taking shape!
Alex: Always thought I would open a shop like this and co-owned a sports cards and comic book and games store for several years but also worked for years in industry so left that partnership thinking I would open my own hobby store in future. So I admire what you have built. It is tough to be tied to a shop with set hours but a lot of joy in interacting with good customers...retired now but enjoy other things now.
If you are on the alert, you can get amazing things that people throw out. The most famous case was probably that Turkoman rug that some woman in Florida (?) found in the trash, that sold for over $100K at Southeby's. But even regular trash can be good - if you watched Taco Stacks yesterday, he pulled two giant sconces and a matching chandelier out of a trash pile, modern obviously, but really quite expensive pieces.
I gave your name to my sister who is trying to downsize as she and her husband are retired. She lives in the house we grew up in that was built in 1912 and is wanted by the Strathcona historical people. We grew up on a dead end street that was in its original state, a farm. We had a lot of fun when we were kids. I know this says Rodrigue Belzile, but that was my husband who passed away in 2016. I am not technically savvy, so I left it with my husband’s name. My name is Linda. Stuff has been accumulating in that old house since we had moved in in 1952. I was 6 months old at the time. I sent my sister this walk through so she can see what treasures she can find in the house that might appeal to you. I have no idea what is in the basement, but I know my oldest brother used to have a train set, but I have no idea if it is still there or what shape it is in. I hope she calls and you can check it out. My kids, who are all grown, love to go and treasure hunt in the house. One of these days, I will make it to your store. I can’t wear a mask, just a visor, so I stay home a lot. God bless you and your family and keep up the good work! 👍
Hey Alex I have an idea. Get some red latex paint and paint a red circle around each of the Jag's tires. It would be your personal joke. The shop is looking refreshed and awesome, just bursting with exciting merchandise.
I love your store Alex and your skills at collecting. Well done, what a great accomplishment. You are a marketing genius and I have enjoyed watching your business grow.
That was so funny when you mentioned your smoke alarm. I was just about to call my husband and tell him he had to change a battery, as I thought it was one of mine “chirping”!!! 😄😎🤦🏻
All the best from England! Hoping to visit Canada next year, will look you up! Love, love, love your store and looking forward to a coffee and cookie too!
Thanx for telling me it was ur alarm lol. I was sitting here tryin to figure out if it was ur alarm or my alarm or the squeaking from the tennis game on tv lol
A music school would love those Mozart scores. Juilliard or Eastman. The New York or Edmonton or Toronto Publi Libraries, too. Vienna or Salzburg museums.
Hilarious! Two nights ago at 6:30 am our smoke detector was beeping because it wanted a new battery. As I'm watching your post, I hear the beep and I'm thinking "Still...darn my smoke detector must be malfunctioning. It just got a new battery and it's only 2 years in it's 10 year life". LOL...glad you said it was from your video!
Love the sound your door makes the squeeze noise and the hardwood floor and the bell, brings back childhood memories of a store I used to go to as a child in my neighborhood
I really appreciated seeing the neighborhood around your store. Once you came inside, I got a little motion sick with your tour, though. I am laying in bed at 4:30 a.m., not being able to sleep while watching. My 15-year old Chihuahua is snuggled beside me as always; and my cat is laying across my legs. Then, I hear that dang chirping noise of a smoke alarm battery. It is driving me crazy and I am trying to figure out where it is. I don't want to get up and disturb my fur babies; or leave my warm bed. I am about to pause your video and upset Molly (dog) and Phoebe (cat), when you say it is your alarm!! Happy April Fool's Day to me. Thanks, Alex! BTW - the shop looks wonderful. I could get lost in there for hours. Best of luck with the April auction.
👍👌👏 Simply a fantastic shop! Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.

The store is looking great. I read a lot of comments about the smoke detector going off, lol, I didn't even notice it but did hear you mention you need batteries for it. Never going to be able to sleep through that beeping !!!!.. Then I hear you say you need to get a battery for your smoke alarm.. Phew that was such a relief to hear. Enjoyed the video as always! This old lady got some exercise going up and down two sets of steps (twice) to check all the smoke alarms in the bedrooms and hallway :) I haven't changed the batteries in two years so will get some and put fresh in all of them. I'll take this as a warning I should change the batteries ;) A fireman once recommended changing the batteries every New Year's so you don't get caught will dead batteries :)

So glad it's your fire alarm that needs a new battery rather than it being mine..... 😊 I hope the house hunt is going well, I'd love to get a bit of an explanation about how house buying/selling works in Canada, I've heard it's much more straightforward than our process here in the UK but it's strange to me that you're already looking at lots without yours being on the market/sold

Aw, that guitar player is awesome! Never have seen that before.
Thanks for the tour.

I'm guessing it's a high pitch sound, since I couldn't hear it (mostly deaf here) likely a good thing since that must be annoying! Lol
