I first heard this beautyful song in 1973 on AFN and i immidiatly looked to find the LP in a record-shop in cologne. I bought it and 50 years later it is still one ofmy favorits....
From a huge John Prine fan I have to say this song by Tom Rush is just as beautiful a song a about break up as I have ever heard. Sad and hauntingly beautiful. Tears in my eyes.
This video shows the great Tom Rush at the peak of his talent. But his recent work is still impressive after all of these years. Rush is one of the prototypical singer songwriter guitarists who, in my view, never got the recognition he fully deserves. I saw him back in the 70s and he was incredible. BTW, he is a terrific acoustic guitarist, too!
Brilliant song! 🎶🎸
They don't write 'em like this anymore - sadly. 😥
Phil Ochs, Dave Van Ronk, Townes van Zant, Tim Buckley... they're all gone. 🙏

I'm a huge fan of John Prine too. I believe Tom Rush covered Talk Dirty in Hawaiian

Thank you! Loved Tom Rush for well over half a century-this song from The Circle Game LP.
We need more film of these greats in their early days. Wonderful and thank you.
