Krysta is personally my favorite. I feel that she really captures Wednesdays character amazingly. Rachel just look kinda boring throughout the whole musical. Krysta has just enough emotion for wednesday to look insane yet mysterious.
You do realize that once the director hired Krysta for the OBC, the writer and lyricist wrote this song to fit Krysta's personality and her version of Wednesday? (My source: Krysta Rodriguez herself, I went to a Masterclass of hers) So to say that her voice looks tired and that she's making too much of an effort is a bit off. Besides, she's supposed to be completely head over heels and out of breath in this number, which I think Krysta did perfectly.
@The Whole Beetlejuice Thing to represent her growing up. In the version of the musical with the braids, she does cut them off in the musical to show that she's growing up. She's supposed to be 18, so the braids left, just like her whole view on her family after she meets Lucas.
Eventually, they took out the haircut part according to Krysta Rodriguez in an interview. I think they scrapped it in Chicago because it was extremely difficult to pull off every performance. At some point, Wednesday just appears with a bob from the opening number - which was also changed.
I'm in musical theater and I'm singing this song for audition its suposed to be a minute and thirty seconds but I don't know if I should do the fast part. What do you guys think?
I would personally do the slower parts of the song, because unless the role you are going for requires something as fast as that, it's not really necessary. It's also more so speak singing, and doesn't show off a lot of your range.

I think I prefer Wednesday with braids instead of the short hair. I feel it stays closer to the cartoons and it looks better. and she also pulls them as she sings, that looks great!
@firefairyangel7 She had the braids from their out of town tryouts and into a few NYC previews because there was a plot line about the family cutting off her braids symbolizing her growth into a young woman but they pulled that out from the show and went with the short hair form the top.
Everyone stop freaking out about the braids. She looks older without them and it's probably easier to get ready and do a show without having to worry braids coming out.

@JoTheAnomaly - I'd say it's the other way 'round: she looks creepy *because* she's playing Wednesday Addams. If you watch some of her other (non-Addams) videos on UA-cam, you'll see that she's got a perfectly normal face; it's the makeup (and expressions) that make it seem creepy.

Why did they get rid of the braids for Wednesday? It helps you focus on the transition from Child to grown up when she has braids in.
