I get offended by the "they're toxic" thing when they say something like "99% are toxic", because it really is annoying, especially when they say it everywhere. Because of that whenever i tell someone i like kpop, they think differently of me and just assume things about me because they see all these people saying that. I also get random people telling me I'm toxic, even tho i never said anything toxic. they just saw that i was a kpop fan and started hating.

Exactly it's so cringy saying omg this was so good just because my favorite idol post it. I remember seeing " Bring out the boss bitch" Line from jennie was iconic. As much as I love jennie that wasn't iconic, the timming of that line was wrong I couldn't see her expression or when blinks don't wanted to except that bp song are old style. Nowadays I focus more on my other girl groups and of course my ults bts but I still semi-ult blackpink. Criticism is needed in life and blinks need to understand that it isn’t hate or anything negative. It just means you care and want the best for Blackpink. Definitely although bts have apologized for those things they also tend to grow from past mistakes they have also donated to blm which not all kpop groups have done and so with all groups we have to see if they have and are trying to grow and get better I don’t think we should criticize if they’re being better people now and have learned from mistakes
@@landdreams9704 they’ve still made mistakes, even after apologizing (to which i say their apology was more of a blanket “we’ll do better” statement than acknowledging any specific incidents, which is fine but it’s not really an apology). and apologizing doesn’t mean anything if the offended party doesn’t want to accept it. you should always be looking at others critically anyways. especially when they build their careers on the back of a culture that isn’t theirs- in this specific case, black culture. edit: and they’re the only kpop group who donated to blm *that you know of*. we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. and even so donating to blm is kind but it doesn’t absolve anyone of past mistakes.

Listen, fandom culture is questionable to some extent. Like some part of the fandom are so obsessed with their faves that they waste all their time on the artists, while the other part have a healthy relationship with the artists. I am telling this bcoz I have been part of both the sides. You don't need to qualify any exam to be a fan. If u like their music, you are a fan. Some people exploit their title of being a blink so much that the fandom loses is respect.
For example I call myself an army, but I stopped calling myself a blink since ktl. Only cos I only limited myself to listening to bp music, I did not like seeing their extra content etc. It's that easy. All these underage blinks and army's alike are gonna regret all of their actions once they reach a certain age. Trust me, I know. I used to make posts on army amino about having the same spectacles as Suga lol. That was when I was 15. Now I'm 18, but that's beside the point. Just know where to draw a line, know how to keep the relationship between you and the artist healthy, and the problem is solved :D
I think only because of toxic Armys, other people hate BTS and fellow Armys left fandom. Also as an Army and new Blink, the first thing I have noticed in this fandom is how divided Blinks are! More than 50% of the fandom seems to be full of solo stans. Jisoo stans will always say "Jisoo deserves better" then in other song if Lisa gets less lines, Lisa stans will state "Even tho Lisa didn't got enough lines, we are still okay" then others will reply "She always gets just not in this one. Seems like Jennie will always be YG's princess.". I'm sick of this! Like are there any ot4 stans or can you just love all 4 of them? Do you guys are even 1 fandom?
OT4 right here!!!! As a true blink, i can assure you that you are right. Blinks fandom is basically divided in 5 parts: 50% are ot4 50% are the four solo fandoms. The thing about the "deserves better" is a ctually understandable. If you think about it, it happens the same with bts (since now basically suga and jhope only breathe in bts songs) but there is a huge difference. When yoongi or hobi stans say it, the say it and nothing more happens. This is because they have music solo activities too, and they are free to do them and it is not like the solo debut of oher groups members. So even if they have basically nothing in bts songs , they sing in their solo albums (there a masterpieces btw). (I hope this part was understandable i am not too sure about the grammar i used in this part 😅) _____________________________________ With blackpink everything is decided by yg so everyone would like to see each member have the spotlight. But sadly, this is only part of the solo stans because a lot of them are sooo toxic. (When i was in berlin for bp's concert since they didn't came in italy, i saw lot of stans with only one member photo, and during the solo acts you could clearly understand who was a solo stan and whi wasn't) Since you said you are a new blink, I really suggest you to not look at the comments, not to go to twitter. I like BTS, I don't know much about them, I am not a hater, but surely there must be something to critizise! Like some of their lyrics are kind of iffy, like War of the Hormone. I wouldn't expect you to make a video about things like that though. When I watched your Butter review, I didn't leave a comment like that, but I did feel like you were biased compared to the On the Ground review. I think that it was amazing because Rosé got to write the song and express herself more. The message was so deep compared to title tracks that BLACKPINK usually releases. But I think you should have included Gone in that review because Gone was amazing and everything I wanted from Rosé, everything I needed. I like On The Ground, but not that much... but with Gone... most people get songs stuck in their head but Gone got stuck in my heart. The MV had me tearing up.

If I was to make video on BTS I’d talk about how extreme their dances are because sometimes the members do sometimes get really injured that’s all but there’s nothing bad about them although yes they are not perfect but in my opinion there’s really nothing to criticise them on.

Literally go watch Caitlyn Benson's new video titled "I'm sorry" ...she is a fairly new reaction channel and she is getting into all kinds of groups. She reacts to BP casually and really likes them, but in her new video, she states that she will no longer react to them because of the comments she was getting from blinks/blonks. They were telling her to react to Blackpink because that's where the views are at, telling her they were unsubbing because they thought they were going to get more BP content from her (which by the way, you don't have to announce that to people, you can just...unsubscribe???). It was clearly a toxic enough situation where she felt she can no longer do reactions to Blackpink, but will continue to support them behind the scenes. Also Seulgiology made a video ranking fandoms. ARMY's were put into the "love/hate relationship" category and Blinks were put into "menace to society" category. Go listen to his explanation of his rankings. Also take note about how LONG the section is for Blinks, he had a lot to say. And lastly, I. Am. A. Blink. Through and through. But I know I am not one of the toxic ones. Something that I honest to God think contributes to the level of toxicity within the Blink fandom is the lack of connection Blackpink have with their fans and lack of a real positive message they give out. They aren't really given that opportunity. It's a damn shame.

wow.. the part where you said blackpink haven't formed that connection with blinks yet. i felt it. i used to be a blink in early 2017 but that fan love slowly faded away throughout late 2017 and 2019 not only because of the lack of music but the lack of content. they literally disappeared for a whole year, and even though we had some things such as a few variety shows and blackpink house i just felt sadly kind of empty. i say sadly because i was really really into them and invested at the time, but i thought they had yet to show their true selves, so i never got to sense that true fan-artist connection. i really hope they get the opportunity to form that bond sometime. another thing that made me distance myself was the way the fandom transformed in 2018 into a not so welcoming and warm community. it started getting pretty divided, a lot of solo stans, akgaes, antis of a member and diehard shippers. idk man. i'm upset because i really wanted to be a blink for a long time. anyway i hope i made sense lol english isn't my first language
@@vicarrer I was in that situation too but with a kpop group called stray kids. After a member (my bias) left, It suddenly didn’t feel right anymore. You don’t get that, like- Excitement and happinesses, and then you slowly drift away. It’s like- you like them, you would listen to their music, but there is something missing. An unsolved puzzle. This is why fandoms connecting with their idol/group is such a special bond and important thing. Blackpink, as you said- they are an amazing group, and has full potential. But I have seen too little of that. The company needs to put more work related to music more than modelling. And the company should stop separating the girls all the time! Because of this, blinks have become more separate than together (due to solo stans and solo activity) and barely get group activities, songs or at least a time for blinks and Blackpink to... connect. This can impact Blackpink too! I mean, they always have to do modelling separately and never have a time for each other- they are probably more distant than before.

Where I don't agree with you is that being offended doesn't mean that the person is toxic. But in general Kpop fans (esp. Blinks and ARMYs since they are powerful) are always treated badly on the internet. People don't care if they are toxic or not. For them kpop fandoms = toxic. And it's annoying, because you see that everywhere even in the media and it reflects a negative image on the groups themselves. How many times did BTS get stupid questions about toxic and crazy fans in western interviews ? they get belittled just because people don't bother to learn about them and the fandom. So yes it's annoying to be assimilated with those toxic fans who call themselves "ARMYs" (I'm sorry I'm talking only about Armys & bts because I don't know much about BP so I don't want to assume things on a fandom I'm not part of. But I think ARMY face the same problem). Blackpink has a lot more issues because YG as their company restricts them a lot more than other groups and companies - so it's normal for anyone to notice these problems and point them out. But a lot of viewers interpret that as hate for the group - not only raging Blinks, but also toxic fans from other fandoms and BP antis, who are taking what they see and using it to unite against BP. So whenever people chat in the comments, it feels like there's only fights going on, not actual chatting. As a multi-stan, I haven't been able to say anything about any group without getting attacked no matter how inoffensive it is.

Listen, fandom culture is questionable to some extent. Like some part of the fandom are so obsessed with their faves that they waste all their time on the artists, while the other part have a healthy relationship with the artists. I am telling this bcoz I have been part of both the sides. You don't need to qualify any exam to be a fan. If u like their music, you are a fan. Some people exploit their title of being a blink so much that the fandom loses is respect.
For example I call myself an army, but I stopped calling myself a blink since ktl. Only cos I only limited myself to listening to bp music, I did not like seeing their extra content etc. It's that easy. All these underage blinks and army's alike are gonna regret all of their actions once they reach a certain age. Trust me, I know. I used to make posts on army amino about having the same spectacles as Suga lol. That was when I was 15. Now I'm 18, but that's beside the point. Just know where to draw a line, know how to keep the relationship between you and the artist healthy, and the problem is solved :D

As a true blink, i can assure you that you are right. Blinks fandom is basically divided in 5 parts:
50% are ot4
50% are the four solo fandoms.
The thing about the "deserves better" is a ctually understandable. If you think about it, it happens the same with bts (since now basically suga and jhope only breathe in bts songs) but there is a huge difference. When yoongi or hobi stans say it, the say it and nothing more happens. This is because they have music solo activities too, and they are free to do them and it is not like the solo debut of oher groups members. So even if they have basically nothing in bts songs , they sing in their solo albums (there a masterpieces btw).

When I watched your Butter review, I didn't leave a comment like that, but I did feel like you were biased compared to the On the Ground review. I think that it was amazing because Rosé got to write the song and express herself more. The message was so deep compared to title tracks that BLACKPINK usually releases. Literally go watch Caitlyn Benson's new video titled "I'm sorry" ...she is a fairly new reaction channel and she is getting into all kinds of groups. She reacts to BP casually and really likes them, but in her new video, she states that she will no longer react to them because of the comments she was getting from blinks/blonks. They were telling her to react to Blackpink because that's where the views are at, telling her they were unsubbing because they thought they were going to get more BP content from her (which by the way, you don't have to announce that to people, you can just...unsubscribe???). It was clearly a toxic enough situation where she felt she can no longer do reactions to Blackpink, but will continue to support them behind the scenes.

And lastly, I. Am. A. Blink. Through and through. But I know I am not one of the toxic ones. Something that I honest to God think contributes to the level of toxicity within the Blink fandom is the lack of connection Blackpink have with their fans and lack of a real positive message they give out. They aren't really given that opportunity. It's a damn shame.

wow.. the part where you said blackpink haven't formed that connection with blinks yet. i felt it. i used to be a blink in early 2017 but that fan love slowly faded away throughout late 2017 and 2019 not only because of the lack of music but the lack of content. they literally disappeared for a whole year, and even though we had some things such as a few variety shows and blackpink house i just felt sadly kind of empty. i say sadly because i was really really into them and invested at the time, but i thought they had yet to show their true selves, so i never got to sense that true fan-artist connection. i really hope they get the opportunity to form that bond sometime.
another thing that made me distance myself was the way the fandom transformed in 2018 into a not so welcoming and warm community. it started getting pretty divided, a lot of solo stans, akgaes, antis of a member and diehard shippers. idk man. i'm upset because i really wanted to be a blink for a long time. anyway i hope i made sense lol english isn't my first language
@@vicarrer I was in that situation too but with a kpop group called stray kids. After a member (my bias) left, It suddenly didn’t feel right anymore. You don’t get that, like- Excitement and happinesses, and then you slowly drift away. It’s like- you like them, you would listen to their music, but there is something missing. An unsolved puzzle.
This is why fandoms connecting with their idol/group is such a special bond and important thing.
Blackpink, as you said- they are an amazing group, and has full potential. But I have seen too little of that. The company needs to put more work related to music more than modelling. And the company should stop separating the girls all the time!
Because of this, blinks have become more separate than together (due to solo stans and solo activity) and barely get group activities, songs or at least a time for blinks and Blackpink to... connect. This can impact Blackpink too! I mean, they always have to do modelling separately and never have a time for each other- they are probably more distant than before.

Yes I have one video idea now please don't hate me, bts are one of my favorite groups but I personally think that now they're aiming for the us market more than the Korean one like now they only make English singles to chart high and to get more appreciation from the us market and now they are copying the same concepts, the reason I like bts is bcuz they are creative and always come up with new concepts but now they are repeating the same concepts like there was no difference between dynamite and butter both were literally the same. Same concept, same beat, everything was same so they are doing it for the western audience to get more fame in the Western side. Where I don't agree with you is that being offended doesn't mean that the person is toxic. But in general Kpop fans (esp. Blinks and ARMYs since they are powerful) are always treated badly on the internet.
People don't care if they are toxic or not. For them kpop fandoms = toxic. And it's annoying, because you see that everywhere even in the media and it reflects a negative image on the groups themselves. How many times did BTS get stupid questions about toxic and crazy fans in western interviews ? they get belittled just because people don't bother to learn about them and the fandom.
So yes it's annoying to be assimilated with those toxic fans who call themselves "ARMYs" (I'm sorry I'm talking only about Armys & bts because I don't know much about BP so I don't want to assume things on a fandom I'm not part of. But I think ARMY face the same problem).
We gotta know that western media and non kpop fans don't accept non-western artists in "their" industry (especially American industry") So when people who are part of the fandom, generalize and put everyone in the same bag, it IS upsetting. I personally don't want to be mentioned with those ignorant people who call themselves "fans".
Like you said, there ARE bad apples in EVERY fandom, be it Kpop or not but the fact is ARMYs and Blinks get attacked everyday even when they don't do anything wrong. Just because they like korean artists, people suddenly forget that they are not just "stans" but they are PEOPLE who have many sides to them.
I think that when we want to address the toxicity (and we SHOULD do it & call the toxic fans out) we shouldn't generalize. Let's not help the haters by giving them more "proof" that they can use later to hate on us.
The majority of ARMY aren't toxic. We do our best to help each other, to promote BTS to do charities...etc. And I assume it's the same with BP fans, I've talked to some Blinks on multiple occasions and they were nice and chill people.
In short, the issue is not about refusing the criticism, criticism is important in everything. But it's the generalization and putting the responsibility on the real fans when they haven't done anything bad, is the real issue that upset some people.

Blackpink has a lot more issues because YG as their company restricts them a lot more than other groups and companies - so it's normal for anyone to notice these problems and point them out. But a lot of viewers interpret that as hate for the group - not only raging Blinks, but also toxic fans from other fandoms and BP antis, who are taking what they see and using it to unite against BP. So whenever people chat in the comments, it feels like there's only fights going on, not actual chatting. As a multi-stan, I haven't been able to say anything about any group without getting attacked no matter how inoffensive it is.
