I think I've quoted Ron Geesin before (from the 'Miniatures' album) - when accused of self-indulgence, he wrote 'We are interested, stimulated, entertained and amused by seeing how new patterns are created, both rhythmically and counterpointedly by placing new patterns over old.' This is a perfect example where a new style (black metal) is placed over an old classical style to reveal many wonders, not all of which work, but it's an interesting experiment.
Without question, I find this half more enjoyable than the first. I'm still not certain there's anything here I'd come back for, but there's definitely some good stuff to be found.
I definitely think this half of Bellum 1 (plus Moon Isabelline) strike a much better balance than the first three tracks and are the more cohesive half, that's for sure. Get this man a bigger budget! Edit: think the music is a bit ahead of the reaction from Lucille's Gate onwards, or maybe just that track I'm not sure
Oh is it? It was slightly out of sync at the end, I’m not sure where it changed…. Sorry. I won’t redo it but hopefully it shouldn’t spoil it too much. Sorry!
@@JimNewstead Don't worry, I think when you had that slight issue between Embered Waters and Lucille's Gate it went a little out of whack. It's no biggie so don't worry about it :)

Empyreal Nightsky is such a beatiful track & you're completely right, for a while it would fit perfectly as a score for an alien film.
So true!!!

Glad you enjoy it! I was worried on the first part when you didn’t entirely!!!
