The only reason he's still alive is because he has that elf Puck to heal his wounds after every battle. So, if Guts went up against something like, say, Midir, the Demon Princes, or the Soul of Cinder, he'd get annihilated handily. He's still simply mortal, no matter how strong he is in comparison to other mortals. Midir is a guardian dragon, the Demon Princes are exactly what they sound like, and the Soul of Cinder is pretty much a fusion of Gwyn as well as all others who have linked the first flame. Basically, if Midir and the Demon Princes get stomped by Guts (spoiler alert, they will not, could not, and would not be), the Soul of Cinder is the one who fucks him up in return. No two ways about it. No matter how far he gets against the bosses of Dark Souls, it's very likely that Aldia, O&S, Gwyn, Nameless King, among others, would kill him, and pretty handily, too. As Undead you do battle with many gods, and only through perseverance do you win. That and the amazing ability to come back from true death, no matter how much of a double edged sword it may be in the context of Dark souls. And Guts is not undead. He may kill demons day to day, saying "ah shit, here we go again" each monday morning, but no amount of demon slaying would prepare anyone for foes like the major antagonists in any of the Dark Souls games. In short, going up the Lord Soul carriers or other enemies of similar power would end VERY poorly for him. I'm not even going to compare him to Nito. The truth is that the protagonists in the Souls games will always be stronger than Guts. If not stronger, then they have the will and means to continue going even after death, which is the entire reason they've completed their quest. They simply can't die for good. Guts, however, is fully mortal, fully bound to the ramifications of losing all of his blood, fully bound to the consequences of the Beast of Darkness berserker armor. If his mortal restraints aren't his undoing in the Souls universe, then the sheer power of the abominations that lie within will be.

Actually, Grifith does. Re-read the manga, that scene happens exactly like descripted here in this video (I don't remember the chapter tho). The only scene that is different is Caska rushing for Griffith as he holds her in his arms. That never hapenned in the manga.

And even that was much worse than the rough parts of the movies (which i really enjoyed btw). Let us bitch about it.
