  • He was an American self-help author and motivational speaker.
His first book, Your Erroneous Zones, is one of the best-selling books of all time, with an estimated 35 million copies sold to date.
He spent much of his childhood (until age 10) in an orphanage on the east side of Detroit, after his father walked out on the family, leaving his mother to raise three small boys.
He's Wayne Dyer and here are his Top 10 Rules for Success.
    * Join my BELIEVE newsletter: www.evancarmichael.com/newslet...
    1. You can't give away what you don't have
Dyer, a Detroit native, worked as a high school guidance counselor there and as a professor of counselor education at St. John's University in New York City.
    2. Don't identify yourself with what you accomplish
A literary agent persuaded Dyer to document his theories in his first book, called Your Erroneous Zones (1976).
    3. As you think, so shall you be
After Your Erroneous Zones dozens more books followed, many of them also best-sellers.
    4. Be open-minded
The success of these books eventually led to national television talk show appearances including The Merv Griffin Show, The Tonight Show, and The Phil Donahue Show.
    5. Change the way you look at things
The Pixar animated short film, Day & Night, is based on one of Wayne Dyer's lectures, and Dyer is the voice in the film.
    6. No one likes being told what to do
He proceeded to build on his success with lecture tours, a series of audiotapes, and regular publication of new books. His message resonated with many in the New Thought Movement and beyond.
    7. There are no justified resentments
He often recounted anecdotes from his family life and repeatedly used his own life experience as an example.
    8. Stop finding excuses
Dyer criticized societal focus on guilt, which he saw as an unhealthy immobilization in the present due to actions taken in the past.
    9. Walk down another street
Dyer was influenced by Abraham Maslow's concept of self-actualization and by the teachings of Swami Muktananda, whom he considered to be his master.
    10. Don't die with your music still in you
He also credited Saint Francis of Assisi, the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, and their teachings as being foundational influences in his work.

“Most of us were raised to become ordinary, extraordinary is something very very different, this is about recognizing within yourself that there’s something very very extraordinary, that you haven’t been trained to believe in.”
“To come to a place where you can apply it and put it into your life but more than that you can go way beyond ordinary, you can go way beyond just being average.”
“If you would like to accomplish something you must first expect it of yourself and my question to you is what do you expect of yourself?”
“Do you expect to be able to perform miracles? To attract into your life the kind of prosperity that you are entitled to? Do you expect that you can manifest the kind of relationships that you would like?”
“You must change what’s possible for you and what you believe is possible for you but the question becomes who am I? Who are you that never changes, who you are is that soul, that soul that says that I want to expand, I want to be free, I want to go to a place where I understand who I am is birthless, deathless, changeless.”

No you should clarify what your open to
For to be open to ALL POSSIBILITIES means literally that! Includes all the Negatives too! Why clarifying what your open to, is clarifying it to flow in a certain direction. 🤔

Exactly especially now in these trying times! Becaise young people today don't have any good role model except the Kadarshians on TV or the negativity on social media every single day! We have many good role models out there but the Media would not share it because good positive news don't sell!

@@EvanCarmichael Am I missing something? Most likely! I go to the link and it is a cartoon of a fulcrum and abstract parts and it notes it's all an error and to go to BTA59 instead. BTA59 is a wordless series of nice music and photos of a group of people enjoying a feast and enjoying each other titled "Piccolino". Maybe the message is to open and go to the feast of friendship with others, that the best things in life are tiny, right?

The last time I saw Wayne was exactly like the first. We had lunch together in Las Vegas. I was so HAPPY ,as always, to see him. I always felt I owed him something. I gave him credit for so much of my success in life. He found it ridiculous that I thought my success somehow magically came from something he had done. Your success is your own. You did it. You created it. It was there from the beginning. You brought it to life as your own personal fruition.
I was so incredibly fortunate to have even sporadic moments over 20 years. Every time... EVERY time we sat down to eat, he made me feel like I was his best friend in the world. The reason came to me one day. He LIVED in the moment, in the right now, with his past and future focused on who he was with at THAT specific segment of time. We agreed that each moment realized IS ETERNITY...that is were he dwelt ALWAYS. He lives in THE GAP...the infinite field of possibilities between two thoughts or between two moments in time.
I could go on and on about lessons learned and time spent. I love Wayne as myself. I cant imagine he isn't with us anymore because he still is. Even right now the room im in is glowing with the warmth and light that he IS. What untold adventures and realizations await us in the Gap. Im already there. I am
    Gratification.

Bergomy Marcelin it basically means you don’t fight reality. You accept that which is. At any moment in time there are a million different things for you to give your attention to. Some of those things feel good, some do not. You get to choose where you place your attention. Choose to place it on that which is pleasing to you in the moment. Do not fight that which is happening, and do not need anything to happen in order for you to feel good. I hope this helps.

'Don't die with your music still in you' moved me to tears as I struggle to allow myself to be who I have long imagined to be in my mind. As I was listening I was thinking of who I could forward this simple, short series to -- I had been in a kind of 'funk' this morning grasping for energy and inspiration to do the simple things I need to do in my beautiful life - I now feel energized. Thank you for bringing together these principles of such a wonderful example of what we can do if we just choose.

She was a beautiful soul trapped in her pain and resentments....for atleast the 27 years I've known her. She didn't know how to let go of them, especially because she felt like she was right.....(she was justified). And it stole her happy. 😞

Wow! All good advices to live by…#1 “you can’t give away what you don’t have!” That’s so true with being in a relationship. Don’t expect the other person to love 💕 & respect you & themselves if you can see they never had the love their heart ♥️ and the respect in their character to display those with you…. That’s one reason why so many relationships fail & why ask ourselves, “why?” Now I know, the other person never had those qualities to begin with to even give in the relationship. Thank you so much for sharing the Mr. Dyers words of wisdom. 🥰🤗

I just discovered Dr. Dyer this past year. I'm sad for not finding him while he was still here, but, I guess my soul wasn't ready to receive what he was teaching. I started reading "Change your thoughts, Change your Life" living the Tao…this is so powerful, it's changed my life very much and I feel like Dr. Dyer is still with us as a teacher..still. So grateful and thankful for his wisdom. Thanks, Evan for putting this out there…my hope is someone looking for truth will come across this and start their own journey towards becoming fulfilled and happy. I don't have a favorite because they're all perfect and meaningful. Thank you, Dr. Dyer.

Now I'm a public school teacher listening to his wisdom.again made me realized , life is worth living only if you share something to the world that will be your legacy to humankind. Thank you sir Evan for creating this platform. It made me feel nostalgic.

Respecting the early years of childhood, who HASN'T had some form of child abuse or a traumatic childhood? Why do some parents take delight in belittling or humiliating their children, right in front of the friends of the parents? Then these children must cope with this abuse over their lifetimes.

I have been a follower of Wayne's since the 80's and didn't like him then but in the 90's I started to really get into in and have ever since. He was my Mentor I believed in him and only pray someone will follow his foot steps and teach us more about our life's, as I finally listened to him. All 10 are great ones but nothing can beat the 10th one...don't leave this world with the music still in you. That's when I started to play guitar, lean more words to speak better, my vocabulary, dance and above all the other things....try to live a good life being a good person the best I can be, help others when I can and be Happy! Don't Worry.....thank you, I always wanted to be a speaker like him and did with a support group I started years ago and but noticed my vocabulary was poor....I needed more...attention. So now that I am 62 I am trying to fulfill dreams passions and leave a legacy doing so. Thank you Evan for bringing Wayne to life don't stop...we need more of you and maybe me.

In my hours of darkness involving selsabatoging thoughts of inadequacy, guilt, shame, & negative self talk - this man's message of not being concerned or focussed on proclaiming one's own accomplisments, titles, & status for ego purposes truly resonated with me. Humility is a virtue despite what many (especialy certain politicians) fail to realize. I'm trying every day to not be attached to anything (except love) and open to new enlightening concepts. Dr. Dyer's book on the Tao Te Ching, "Change your Thoughts - Change you life" is my go to remedy & I highly recommend for anyone seeking peace & harmony in their life!

#10 definitely! I have loved this man since the first time I heard one of his PBS specials although I had read a few of his books before then to actually see how kind and caring he truly was made a huge impression on me to this day!

#5 Change the way you look at things, that rule stood out the most to me. Its so profound. We typically get what we expect, what we focus on magnifies. We need to focus on the positive in every situation. It may not always be easy to identify but its there. #BTA20 #teammotivation

What a beautiful day to wake up and whack this clip of dr.Wayne Dyer! Thank you! What was incredible to me ,first time i heard it,was ,
be open to everything and attached to nothing , I was born this way, so this is real!!! ( sometimes some people called me "could stone" ,but i am not),my parents always told me that there are so many ways to walk, and see ahead and change, etc. The most natural and beautiful thing for me will be to able to complete my journey with the last task: don't die with the music still in me.
Thank you for putin this clip together, for me is a great reminder of what is next.
RIP dr. Wyne Dyer, love the way you're orchestrating the Universe!

I'm at the point in my life where "no one dies from the snake bite, its the venom that courses through you long after the bite" = "there are no justifiable resentment s" resonates deep in my spirit. Thank you so much ❤
