This video has wrong information. Also do not encourage students to come here without learning Finnish, it's not only rude towards the Finns but will seriously hinder their job opportunities! Thing is, Finns CAN speak English, it is teached from the 1st grade on. So a student knowing English is nothing impressive here...Finns are also highly educated, Nokia and Linux were developed here, so we don't exactly need foreign students for that either. Nursing jobs? The law states patients must receive care in their native language, so not speaking Finnish will only land you the lowest paying job with no way to climb up the company ladder.
The real reason schools in Finland are offering education to foreigners: money from the government + having enough students to justify to keep the schools open in the future. The truth is, that Finland is a scarce country. The countryside is losing population, and they are trying to keep their town centers alive by educating Asians and Africans. It makes no sense financially nor intellectually (like I said, you need good Finnish in order to get a good job), but here we are.
This is also the reason why Finns themselves can be quite racist towards immigrants: nobody wanted you here. Our own youth suffers from lack of jobs already.
