I have a 2006 cts 2.8, and my key started getting stuck about a week ago. we only have 58,000 original miles on it. It has been sitting for 4 years because my husband and I had chronic illnesses. You ecplain things very well and I appreciate all your help.😊

Thank you for posting this. Have a 06 with the same issue. Ran great until the battery went dead. New battery and all of the same issues you were having. Going to give this a try as well as adding the extra ground from the battery. The one I have has several fuse boxes. Under the back seat, in the trunk, etc. Any one of them can be a place for failure. Had a Dodge that had starting issues and when I added an extra ground the problems went away. Again, thanks for posting this. I will let you know how it comes out. They are great cars when they work, when they don't....................not so much.
I have the same problem but I watched this video this morning then I went to Walmart to get the sand paper as you said clean the wires then boom it worked 😃 thank you so much fam stay safe and hope you get many blessings man💯

I bought a Cadillac just like yours maybe a month and a half ago and I’m having the same issue with the key getting stuck in ignition I was told it was a key locks Illinois so I remove it and haven’t had a problem

What you want to do is disconnect the ground and clean the surface and connection off real good. Then connect it back so it will have a better connection and be properly grounded.
Why did you decide to sand the ground wire/port?? Did you see someone else do it... Just curious to what led you to go that route.. Regardless, it was very impressive
A friend of mine’s recommended checking and sanding the ground connections. One of my old car was having starting issues and as soon as we cleaned the ground ports the car started working perfect.

Dijo que si quita los dos tornillos de tierra de la computadora y los lija, sus problemas desaparecieron. los problemas clave con el automóvil son que si la batería se agota, la función de seguridad responde y bloquea el automóvil; alguien más recomendó sacar el fusible del ecm varias veces y debería / podría reiniciarse Compré un automóvil de subasta que se mostró funcionando y conduciendo pero cuando fui a recogerlo, la batería estaba agotada, la llave se cerró sola en el encendido. Intento algunos de estos consejos. Usé el traductor de Google para esto y solo hablo español rudimentario

What kind of wire?
18-20 gauge wire to add the extra ground. But anything solid to just jumped it.
Corroded grounds can cause issues. However, wouldn't disconnecting the grounds have the same effect as pulling the fuse to the ECM?

I left the battery connected when I sand the ground on the computer.

I used a thick pin to push it through the middle and pulled it out.
