I just started playing The Division about a month ago. A couple of tips I learned about boss fights: 1) Always try to find high ground so you can fire down into their heads; and 2) If high ground is unavailable, lure them into prepared killzones where you can empty an entire mag before retreating back into another killzone, then rinse repeat.
Just picked this up, like everyone else late to the party. You have some great information and tips shared with this video. Thank you, surfed on in from a random youtube recommendation in my feed.
Just started playing the division. This video is excellent, thx so much! Just the right amount of detail and I appreciate that you explained and gave examples of how to use the mods. 👍
Helpful - thank you I've just got to level 20 and am only now considering why my life drops like a stone, prioritising DPS to get those sweet sweet talents means I was like paper, switching over to stamina means I now don't get instakilled by a officer enemy or boss.
I really like the last bit about apply the correct mods on the weapons. To be honest I've just been putting whatever on whatever. Now I really want to go home and fix my mess
started the game yesterday and realized, the dps stat is somewhat confusing in the beginning. Nice video that explains everything i had a question for, thanks a lot! :Dsome good tips for newbies like me :)
With the Division open beta just around the corner I thought I'd share this fairly detailed beginner's guide to gearing! This should let you know exactly what you are looking for the moment you jump into the beta. And I'll see you there on stream! twitch.tv/ziggydlive/ Can't wait for the beta!
+vaporkilla no idea yet! The core gameplay loop is pretty damn fun and the game is doing a few unique things - if they have good endgame content and regular content releases then I can see it being something we sink 100's and 100's of hours into.
Thankyou this is still a grrat video. Especially the importance of Attributes and Mods. I dont quite get mods well yet, but I do appreciate understanding their value. Div 1 is considerably more challenging than Div 2. My nephew and I have just began playing it together. Thx a bunch Ziggy.
Great tips, 8yrs later I’m just now diving in (I’m not into PVP so it’s perfect) - and your guide explained a lot. The DPS is definitely misleading; I found out the hard way swapping out a SCAR-H with an M44 despite the misleading stat was a huge step in the right direction. But the DPS would have me believe the SCAR-H was 2x stronger…it was more like 4x weaker.
The rate of fire mod is incredibly helpful for sniper rifles because of how slow they are, it is a % based modifier. I personally don't use bolt action sniper rifles that much but the rate of fire modifier is still definitely noticeable.
Great video, wish I had watched this when I started out! although I’ve now learned most of this by trial & error/blind luck/epic failure, it’s good to have a refresh & soak up more info. Also, perfect title for the content too, so many “beginners” guides skip basic stuff such as this. Keep up the great work! 🤙
So the Armor rating actually does something!? Wow, I never realized you could look over stats like that in the character page, and I wasn't aware of how mods/weapon types differ even when the DPS rating is high. This is one of the best guides for a begginner like myself. Thank you!
Thanks very much, although I will have to watch this again another 3/4 more times to get my head around all the options available to me. Am enjoying this game first time around.I just play on my own & so far on level 10.I hope to get to level 30,it won't be easy but will give it a go.
Thx for this I am new to division and was really struggling to understanding this stuff. I think now that I have a chance of changing it all up more effectively 😊
+Gatman / TeamEssenceGoW Thanks mate, appreciate hearing that. Make sure to check out my video on over if you missed it I covered a couple things I've never seen anyone point out before! ua-cam.com/video/vCplHhaVBYk/v-deo.html
Man I've been trying to maximize my character as much as possible and this is the only video that will help me do so. Appreciate it and breaking it down. The division for dummies. Haha. Thanks.
Just a small tip from working on playthrough number 3, in order to combat the rise of the assault rifle on automatic fire, I simply pull my mouse down slowly and it keeps it 100% stable. I know this may seem simple but my co-worker needed this explained to him he kept wondering why on my videos my assault rifle never raises. Also, do EVERY mission before moving onto the next area even if you only get a tiny bit of XP, it all adds up.
I wouldn't call myself a beginner cause I'm a decently high level in game, but I came to this video for help to balance out my stats cause they suck. Thankyou :)
Does anyone know what (in the inventory overview screen with your weapons, armor, gear, etc) the glove with a gear behind it is? (Its under the knee pads in the second column) Or what does it include? I can only suspect gear mods like mods for weapons but in this case for gear, although I'm not 100% sure.
wow. this is some the best beginners guide tips n tricks video i have ever seen.. especialy with a game like this its usefull, cause there is so much trown at the player that im pretty confussiod. but how more i get how more i like this game.. greetings from the netherlands
ARM on gear isn't clear, higher the better I'd have thought.... but sometimes on yellow and the new greens it's lower but the atributes are higher, which is better, the ARM or the others e.g. dps, stamina, electronics etc
You should have included that Weapon special effects are based on your stats for this video. For example, AR and SMG special abilities are based on your Firearm and Electronic. LMG are based on having Firearm, Stamina, and Electronics. If players do not meet the stat demand for the weapon abilities then the weapon will not perform the special abilities so players will have to keep in mind what gear stats they need with their weapons.
what about level verse's DPS? on a weapon. Like I have guns that have a higher DPS state than another Higher leveled weapon? Does the higher level make it better even with a lower DPS?
This is a great video, so ty. This is my first RPG game, and it is a bit overwhelming to say the least. Could you do a video on the tools for finding your way around? I know that may seem elementary to some folks, but for beginners like me, it's a big deal. ty again.
This was so freaking helpful bro, thank you. I noticed that some of the names for things are different but obviously it's still means the same shit so, again thank you for the lesson boss. And I know my pops thanks you too. 😎🖒 Btw, division 2 comes out in a couple of weeks m are you gonna do one for that? I'm sure it'll have new editions to learn. I'll be keeping an eye out for it as I just subscribed.
Question: There is a size of every part of the weapon attachement (scope - large, silencer - large, muzzle something - small). How does it affect the game?
+ZiggyD Gaming Some gun question: Do the guns use hitscan instead of bullet travel? (assuming not hitscan) Do all guns have the same muzzle velocity? (assuming not hitscan) Is there bullet drop? If you reload before you completely empty your magazine, does it reload slightly quicker? For Damage falloff at range, does the game show your minimum damage at max range and what that range is? I thought I noticed Scope Sway for the bolt action rifle with a scope. Was I seeing things? If there is sway, are there ways to reduce it, like gear/stats or holding your breath?
+Kopipop not sure on the technical level hitscan vs bullety physics but there is no bullet drop, most combat is done at ranges where bullet drop would not be a factor so I don't believe there would have been a point in adding extra processing for the physics. Unsure of reload time differences, I didn't notice anything but I haven't specifically looked. I'll check it in this next beta if I can. There's isn't a displayed minimum damage, I assume it will be zero beyond a certain range. Shooting down a street with a shotgun never really seems to deal any damage whatsoever. I haven't yet seen any mods that affect scope sway, it could be affected through talents we don't have access too yet or it could be just a balancing point for the first person zoom in a 3rd person game.
+ZiggyD Gaming Thanks for the reply. I'll be keeping an eye out on this game and how it develops before launch. I'm usually very weary of any form of pre-ordering things. As such, honest and upfront reviews, opinions, and gameplay really helps when looking at a new game. Thanks.
This has been hyped a lot but what u guys think who have tested the game in betas, is it worth the ~40$ to buy right away or should we wait a lil longer to see how it actually works when released fully? Is there any issues they need to still fix (like for example in Black Ops 3 all my friends including me, some with pretty high-end computers and connections too, still get quite much lagging on multiplayer..)
let say i have a level 8 weapon with a high damage rate. and i have a level 12 weapon with less damage , wich 1 should i use.. i.e . is the level status of a weapon importent ?? or should i take more attention to damage ? do you have more explaination of this game ? about different upgrades ? or solo tips ?
From the base of operations or and safe house you've discovered. Just go to the vendor's to see what they have but for the good shit , go to the base of operations bro.
When modding armor how can I tell which mod can fit in which armor piece. I have mods that fit only some armor slots and not others. I cannot tell how to differentiate which mod goes on which piece of armor. Thank you.
All you have to do is find a suitable primary weapon and you will equip three gun slots, I was able to equip two primary's after finding a shotgun, hope this helped
Hey. I don't have the house so I pretty much use the liberator all the time . I want to use a high end but I like liberators high rpm. Is there a high end assault rifle that's decent in pve and good for pvp?
Just started playing this game again, and i realized something. Electronics are op. Im building a no cover tank, and at lvl 14 with the shield, i have 50k health with a ton of damage reduction with no stamina on gear, and i have 100% uptime on the turret, which deals insanly consistent dps

I'm beginner but I can face level 9 enemies just in oneday playtime except the sniper it's v.hard to kill sniper 😢😂
Just picked this up, like everyone else late to the party. You have some great information and tips shared with this video. Thank you, surfed on in from a random youtube recommendation in my feed.
Just started playing this game like 3 days ago. This is very helpful.
I've honestly been running around for 6 hours now playing blindly. Thank you for this 😁😁
Just started playing the division. This video is excellent, thx so much! Just the right amount of detail and I appreciate that you explained and gave examples of how to use the mods. 👍
Solid video! Thanks for sharing.
+LowkoTV Hey thanks Lowko, appreciate it man!
+ZiggyD Gaming how you got gold scarl H gun when your only on rank 8? i really wanna get gold guns but i can't seem to find them.
+UnknownGamer I think he's get me from the dark zone I do that too sometimes by getting my lowest guns then storing everything
Helpful - thank you
I've just got to level 20 and am only now considering why my life drops like a stone, prioritising DPS to get those sweet sweet talents means I was like paper, switching over to stamina means I now don't get instakilled by a officer enemy or boss.
Great breakdown thanks for taking the time to put this together- quite certain it will be helpful for many players!
THIS!
UA-cam needs more game guides of this caliber! Keep it up mate, excellent vid
Thank you, i have been having trouble understanding why the DPS varies so much, this has helped a tone.
Cracking video - thanks, so difficult to understand the stamina / firearms ratio and with no help in game this is a great guide

+ZiggyD Gaming you think this is going to be repetitive and stale after a bit?
+vaporkilla no idea yet! The core gameplay loop is pretty damn fun and the game is doing a few unique things - if they have good endgame content and regular content releases then I can see it being something we sink 100's and 100's of hours into.

what re-release? I've never released this video before today, I only made it the other day ;)
*****
Nope, haha I recorded this offline. Maybe you saw another similar gear guide video? no idea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
+ZiggyD Gaming What is that track at the beginning of your vid?
Thankyou this is still a grrat video.
Especially the importance of Attributes and Mods.
I dont quite get mods well yet, but I do appreciate understanding their value.

I started playing this game man its soo good compared to newer games. New games sucks i dont know man. Old games feels different.
easily the most helpful gaming video ive seen in years
Great video, wish I had watched this when I started out! although I’ve now learned most of this by trial & error/blind luck/epic failure, it’s good to have a refresh & soak up more info. Also, perfect title for the content too, so many “beginners” guides skip basic stuff such as this. Keep up the great work! 🤙
Thanks for that. I am only about 3 hours into the game and found a few of your tips helpful.
The best beginners guide ive ever seen. Information is very detailed and ive learned many things from this video
This is a great video. I've been struggling with my loadouts, and this really helps me prioritize. Thank you, sir.
Actually really helpful video for complete beginner and summing up all the basics of the rpg aspect of the game. Thanks!
Really good mate. Helped a lot to get me started as a casual gamer. Thanks!
Awesome video which was easy to follow and makes sense how to build based on play style and type of weapon you choose. Thank you!
So the Armor rating actually does something!? Wow, I never realized you could look over stats like that in the character page, and I wasn't aware of how mods/weapon types differ even when the DPS rating is high. This is one of the best guides for a begginner like myself. Thank you!
Great video, really helpful going into the game. I'll be looking forward to other videos from you as the game matures.
THIS!
This is exactly what I was looking for. The menu is overwhelming when u first play the game. Amazing video
Good video! Especially how to mod your weapon the correct way ,very smart
It is great to land on a video where the guy knows his stuff. Great video bro! I miss the beta already!

Still kind of on the fence about this game but your content is making a good case for it. Thumbs up!
this was an awesome video man. very helpful !
how do map sizes in division affect feasibility of focus on long range sniper builds?
Hey Great Video ! I have shared it with my friends. Regards from New Zealand
So helpful now that the game is out. Great vid straight to the point and easy to understand thanks for sharing!

This was done very, very well and clearly. I'm getting into the game a bit late so I wanted to know a bit going in. Thanks!
Best explanation of all this yet. good lad!!. Cheers
Great video man! Reall needed this.
I hardly ever use the Like button on videos. This is an exception, great video indeed!
Thank you, that was really helpful man! Can you make a video about the crafting system, please?
Should I concentrate on character dps or weapon damage?
Wow. This is the best breakdown i've found so far. Thanks!
What is the point of reduced threat on a suppressor
hi dude, im new to the division and i was wondering-is it better to sell the non used weapons etc or dismantle them?? thanks
Great video man, very informative. Subscribed.
Kickass guide!! good work

Question: There is a size of every part of the weapon attachement (scope - large, silencer - large, muzzle something - small). How does it affect the game?
+Shinobicze it fits on a type of weapon, you can't put a small silencer on a assault rifle but you can on a pistol.
cant wait till next week!
Thanks for helping me understand this in 2021, loving this game👍
Awesome vid, thanks a lot! Gained a sub.

Do a guide on surviving in dark zone covering topics like when to attack good areas to look around and high traffic areas

what is Alti or Ulti? keep hearing people say it but wont tell me what it is.
thank you for this guide.. its very good and informative for a new player here in 2021
