He is a great player, and is absolutely ready to play for the Springboks now. There is no need to wait. He needs to get 25 to 30 tests under his belt by the next World Cup.
Running with the ball in to hands also elegant passes nothing rushed just smooth it will be interesting to see him in the green and gold. Maybe lose a few kilos..
He has a LONG way to go. Talented yes. But he needs a LOT more experience. The worst thing that could happen to this kid is that they will try to squeeze him ripe. Allow him the space to develop properly. If they leave him to do that, I believe that he will be a better prospect than Libbok.
@@minute_mercy it is not his age that I object to. It is his lack of experience. Unless of course you know of international exposure that he has had the rest of us don’t know about.
@phelansa23 how is he suppose to get experience on international level if he's not exposed to? I mean the guy singlehandedly helped the sharks out of the slump. Look at their record of wins with him playing as opposed to when he's not playing. He deserves at least a look in
@@xaviermurray7698 Deserves? Really? And on what basis does ANYBODY, “DESERVE” a look in? He has not even played a full season for his franchise! A Franchise that selects even Kirwin Bosh above him…. Nobody, and I mean nobody “DESERVES” a walk in. The world is full of talented players who never make it past playing for their province. I sincerely hope that he will not be one of those players. Because I DO believe that he is good enough to go beyond that. But first, he needs the experience. Playing for his franchise, playing overseas in other top competitions, and then I believe he will serve his country well.
In any European national team he gets picked because those teams select purely on talent,Springboks however have always been picky when it comes to the type of a 10 they need because of the style and game plan they want to execute... It's not just talent that gets you in but I rate he will be looked at and evaluated and considered like all players who want to become a Springbok.
i kinda disagree with you - pollard and libbok are diametrically opposite types of players. jantjies also is more like libbok. or unless i'm misunderstanding what you're meaning?
@@lm_b5080 I agree, but a Pollard type of 10 is Boks preference.Jantjies was always second fiddle to Pollard and so was Libbok.I could be wrong though but Pollard always seemed to be the favourite but for good reason I assume.
@@siphembambo6872 ya the bok backline looked great when libbok was allowed the freedom. however, this doesn't seal big games like how pollard can do (go watch the video Squidge rugby made about him). if we want to win through the boks style - pollard is the way. maybe Masuku can fit into that style too!
Siya Masuku has a great boot, but I'm not yet convinced about his play. To my mind his play as a general, a defender and his read of the game. However he is young and may need a bit more experience and guidance
I've watched a few of his games at Kingspark,I get what you mean,I think alot of people judge on talent but international rugby now demands that you solidify your game as a whole. He's missing a few things,I can't really put my finger on it but one thing is for sure is that he does NOT miss.
His decision making is excellent, distribution crisp and he’s not afraid to take on the defensive line and have a go. Goal kicking is deadly accurate. Maybe needs another year or two at URC level before a Bok call up. Since he’s been starting for the Sharks they have been winning their games so he’s got something special to offer.
I agree with you. Just need more game time i recon. 2 years a bit much as he is now 27. Id give him a go next year. But he is bok quality. Pollard is the GOAT offcause, Manie is flashy. But Masuku is the real deal. Pure quality
He is gifted so discipline will get him over the line of being an international athlete
The guy no one saw, but was always coming👏🔥

Our very own Finn Russel, that flair and finesse😮💨
Such an exciting talent

Maybe 12 if the weight is useful
why does he need to lose a few kilos, he litterally weighs 10kg less than pollard(96kg), masuku(85kg)

My guy he's 27 years old not a kid anymore 😂

Funny enough Pollard didn't need any experience. You wyt folks are disgusting.
i feel like they always knew he was a fantastic player he just didnt fit what a flyhalf looked like
Future Springboks material if manage well. Youngman is a baller 💯👌
Rassie has your number 👌

I think he missed the train this year, but if he keeps this up definitely next years camps.

incredible. f###kin incredible. ladies and gentleman this is the prodigy right here
He's been setting the pitch a light long befor he played for the Sharks ....you realy should have watched more of the Cheetahs games the last 3 years
He is a cheat code
Reckon Boks will give him the nod against Wales at Twickenham in June?
@@RugbyNow_ Championship hero for the Sharks. Enough said. He will start.
Definitely, Siya Masuku is a Bok material. He is knocking at the gates of Glory. We wish him well!
