Thanks for all your hard work making these videos which are far more entertaining than anything produced by commercial channels,it's the great mixture of fishing, wildlife, scenery, cooking, brilliant filming and editing and your own quirky personality!
Dear Gido, you have the wife and I so steamed up about fishing down at your continent that we’re going to fly from SoCal to New Zealand and then to Sydney next January/February. We hope to then skip on down to Perth and fight some of those pelagic monsters in your waters.
Ah I don't think you'll leave nz once you get there big snapper 20lb plus bigger ones a 32 pound snapper was caught in my area up north big king's upto 40/50 kg
I'm in love with your videos , especially because you don't have litter covered beaches and I really love rock fishing. But, I am in my 70's and I have bad knees. I used to rock fish the rocks on the west coast of the USA. Thanks for sharing stay safe
Hi Howard, yes we are very fortunate to still have a pristine litter free coastline. I do see some rubbish washed up but not much. Glad you enjoy the vids
Absolutley love your videos. The care shown for the gropers for releasing them back to live another day is next level, a skill a few you tubers forget to use nowadays. So good to see
always love a Gido adventure! I’ve started eating panko breaded fish wraps at home since you always make them look so good and now my wife and kids love them!
We love eating Kahawai here (the peoples fish) lots of ways, yours looked yum, try it raw Sashimi style its excellent, also island style raw fish cubed soaked in Lemon or lime juice the with onions tomato etc etc and cream (either cow cream Maori style or coconut cream Island style).
Really enjoy the longer vids hope you do 1 or hopefully more up north vids this year , that one where you met mates with the yatch fishing flats and on your boat one of my favourites
Hello brother, greetings from Venezuela. I watch your videos religiously, I love them. I fish spinning and jigging from the shore here in my country. One question, I have never used fishing chum bag, but I would like to try to see how it goes, what do you usually put inside? Thank you in advance, and I wish you much success, the quality of your videos is tremendous!!
I put pilchards in it. They are an oily baitfish here. When targeting groper I used crushed rock crabs. Any fish scraps from something like a tuna or mackerel would work the same. Or whatever the local baitfish is 👍🏼
Watched the video again and the moment that Groper smashed the bait and ran is THE most exciting catch I've ever seen, ... and I've seen plenty of land based catches. Gido my friend I absolutely enjoy your videos soooo very much and I can't stop watching them. Thanks heaps mate. Robbie
That was a great video, you caught your favourite fish trio and the bigger groper was an amazing looking fish, the drone footage is always awesome.Great stuff 🎣👍
That was Great thanks Gido, sure you living the best life, been watching since you started all them years ago and it just keeps getting better, look forward to the next on thanks again, keep them coming.
me encantan tus videos, disfruto mucho cada ves que sacas uno nuevo, a pesar de vivir al otro lado del mundo veo el parecido en especies del caribe, saludos desde Cuba
Another really good way to cook kahawai is , bleed it immediately, cut it thin, marinate in soya sauce and wasabi, fry it well, poor mans tuna right there. You can cut the bloodline of or fry the bloodline part till it's quite crispy. Bowl of rice, happy days!
Gooday Gido. Thankyou again for another awesome video! I have tried cooking salmon all sorts of ways and NEVER has it tasted good. I think you have helped me sort out what I've done wrong cause every salmon I've caught is from the beach and I haven't cooked them down as you did. Hopefully I'll get another chance to try that. Thanks heaps Gido. Awesome video!!! 🐬👻
This was a goodun. Nice chunky Groper. Im curious about the boat, it looks like it'd work around here, but I've never seen one. Thanks for bringin us along mr gido.
Gido I tried cooking salmon a few different ways and I still couldn’t find a way of liking them until a young fellow at a wharf I was fishing on told me how he did it and said they love them , his methods which I tried was awesome , it takes away that strong salmon flavour people don’t like , anyway in a fry pan put milk In it and cook the salmon in the milk , about a Centermeter or 2 in the pan and cook it till it’s done , it’s the only way I eat them now give it a try at home if you haven’t done it that way before .
Love the content mate! Especially amazed by your knot knowledge and the balls you got abseiling into prime unfished ledges. Thanks for this I get so hyped about fishing off the bricks. Not sure about chucking a plastic on a PE8 with 80 pound leader but you gotta try when it's slow. 😂❤❤❤
I laughed hard when you busted the first grouper! The second grouper hookup and fight was more serious. Nice to see it, we can dream. How was the drone work handled while working the second grouper? The entire episode is so rich and rewarding to watch.
They are Rogue burley bags from BCF. All bags will get holes and fall apart eventually. Just make sure to tie your rope directly to it not onto the pull cord at each end. When they break youd loose the entire thing into the ocean
Another epic mission Gido as always. I seen you have someone else in WA fishing ledges you put safety bolts in for yourself. He’s trying to do you but alas there is only one GIDO.
Holy crap. That is the most amazing groper on fly - great work! You're lucky over in the West, we've been banned for fishing for them (Eastern Blues) here in NSW. Used to be my favourite species to target off the rocks. Thanks for another great video.
Yes I heard about that and signed against it as it had nothing to do with science. Can’t believe they can just change a law like that virtually overnight with no actual reasoning. Glad you enjoyed the vid and hope they will allow fishing for them over east again soon
@@gidosfishingadventures They banned it now they’ll have a 12 month consultation period as we’ve seen in past few years what we lose we never get back.
@@craigfrith7024 That's interesting - good for you. I always released the males and bigger females but loved to fish for the 2 to 5 kilo females for food. So common (as you would know) and very few people target them. It's not just being denied this - one of the great pleasures in my life - by a government ,but also what it might mean for other species in future.

Hey man, just wondering do you fish in Esperance? I’ve heard that there is a famous UA-camr fishing around here. Just wanted to see if there was and if u do, welcome to Esperance
Hey mate love your videos, just a lil tip if your interested. a couple of 1m lengths 40mm PVC pipe under the hull should make life a lot easier for dragging the boat up the rocks🍻
Curious what size leader you use on the fly rod? In theory if you can keep the rod tip up you won't break 20lb on a fly rod, though when they surge that's hard to do. 🤣
Another enjoyable video thanks Gido! Question, where exactly on the southern part of Western Australia do you travel? It’s wild to see how different the fish are in your ocean. Thanks bro!
I’ll give the bacon a go with the ol salmon bud , I usually cook fillets of salmon in milk in the fry pan , about a centimetre or two of milk in the pan , it takes that salmon harsh taste away and the fish is moist to eat , very nice if you haven’t tried it , i recommend to give it a go , I’ll try the bacon method lol , everything taste great with bacon lol.

Gotta confess I thought baking the Kahawai was a bad idea. You don't want to over cook them, they get really tough. But it didn't look like it was, so I'm guessing it was OK. Was it a fairly short bake?
@@gidosfishingadventures Good to hear. Sadly, I have to report I fished the sunset here, in a local port area. Got nothing, barely a bite. I'd have been stoked with your fish.
have you tried soy sauce and cornflake batter yet? there was a bloke do a video on the bcf channel. You coat the fish fillets in the soy crush the cornflakes up and cover the fish then fry to give you a really crunchy fish fillet
