As a victim and a family counsellor, I strongly encourage victims to speak out. Bless my late mother, she sided with the priest because she believed a priest would never harm a child. I see families intimidate victims into remaining silent. I was warned not to speak up because the abuser might commit suicide. If victims believe the stress of coming forward caused this man's death, then that will also keep some victims silent. Speak out, it's time to begin the healing.

Pray for victims of sexual abuse but need to understand God's mercy is beyond reproach. I can testify to say I led a promiscuous life for over a decade, going to strip clubs and red districts but God intervened through our Blessed Mother to lead me out of the darkest moment of my life to Jesus in the Eucharist 17 years ago during a pilgrimage to strengthen my faith and save my marriage. Nothing is impossible for God. It is the best time to be Catholic with Jesus in the Eucharist- the source of the summit of faith. Viva Cristo Rey and Ave Maria.

@@georgekavanagh8220 the church includes the victims. When a catholic says ‘the church’ they mean everyone catholic, including the victims. The priests committed a mortal sin and thereby separate themselves from the church. So by protecting the church means to protect those who have been traumatised by the priests and kicking those priests out of positions of power.

Most children think that they did something wrong and fear being punished. Others think they will not be believed or told that they are liars. Most parents don't want to have to deal with it becausef they fear the all powerful priest. Still others fear their angry father may beat up the priest with their father ending up in jail. There are many reasons.

It's time to acknowledge that there were and are far more Holy chaste priests and nuns in Ireland than sick abusers. This kind of abuse goes on in homes and lay structures too.
Why crucify good people who are doing good in Ireland?
Shame on those who try to make money on innocent people. Let the law deal with lawbreakers when that is the case.

I think it’s probably a little more shocking. Sadly sexual abuse of females is more normal in human psychology. I was 38 before I realised nuns also molested children. Maybe it’s me but it just shook me to my core that a woman could do such a thing. But strangely I would be less shocked hearing about a male committing these atrocities. What lies within humans is truly sickening. We still must stay close to God for healing and guidance

To make sense of what happened causing the catastrophe of sexual abuse by roman catholic church falsely purported presumed helpers of the family, consider heart need of having faith and its relationship with thinking gift mind sense and note the groomed inversion of gift and need, who were the groomers and why.
Consider economic advantage by tax-exemption embezzlements and lower insurance cost by fraud.

Redress is just jobs for the boys. The government are equally responsible coupled with RTE for covering up genuine court cases. I've used Towards Healing. Waisting survivors compensation on bs to make it look like they're doing something.
Asking the church to voluntarily contribute is absolute nonsensical.
