I walked in there like a dummy right after grinder. Like lvl 7-8. I was catching off screen rounds and laying down for a nappy nap. The edge is great fun when low lvl.
@@MrDefyreality13 Me too, I think. I kept getting one-shot from beyond the screen and almost put the game down and left it alone as being stupid hard. I just started this game a couple days ago. Level 8 I think, and I managed to sneak, dodge, and run my ass off and grabbed the Overwhelmer. Took me probably 20 tries of getting one shotted, and then when I got killed after grabbing it, another 12-15 or so tries to get back out from the respawn area with the level 25 guys. But man, with this gun upgraded a few times, I am just walking through the game. It almost feels like I broke it... But massively fun so far.
tell you one thing...this game developed by a team of 12 is absolutely blowing the fuck out of cyberpunk 2077....the ascent world detail is absolutely top notch and extremely immersive plus the graphics and music is fantastic aswell
I've played 18.2hrs of The Ascent. Love it. Biggest gripe: The multiplayer was a complete bait & switch to me. I thought there would be public matchmaking, or at least a way to invite steam-friends inside the game. However, I can't seem to do so. I've only played single-player, and I basically got this game for some top-down Left for Dead action. Also, sometimes, the buildings/ceiling-roofs in the foreground do not adequately go transparent, and the enemies are incredibly difficult to kill/avoid when the foreground is completely blocking your view.
While not a unique gun, I found the Strikebreaker Minigun to be an absolute beast once upgraded to Mk8. Fully upgraded, it simply shreds through enemies, burst firing it is super precise and once it winds up and starts shooting it's pure carnage at that point
Damn!! this channel is so good, this is the second video Im watching and it's not too long, it's not redundant, it's really useful stuff. Im subscribing, great work guys, cheers.
I've never messed around with a twin stick shooter but gave the Ascent a try. I'm only a couple of hours in but it so damn fun. A lot of reviews say it's not fun unless you play in co-op. I'm having a blast by myself.
The only experience I have was with Metal Slug on Arcade machines as a kid those were literal twin stick shooters xD The Ascent is a damn good game though and I'm also playing it solo I'm having plenty of fun :D Any game no matter how dreadful can be entertaining if you play it with the right people, you create your own fun. But to say this game is meh without others is just a insult to the game if you ask me.
You get the Dismemberer as the completion reward from the "Liberation Operation" mission. It's a level 25 mission that you pick up from the EightCo office in Nitroad.
Yep, but there is an NPC that lets you go down to the Scraplands that isn't there until another mission makes him spawn behind that desk. You have to go to the scraplands in order to complete the Dismemberer mission.
@@LegacyGamingUS I think the mission you are thinking of is the one about the "Pleasurebot" construction (Plug & Play), but you can also access the scraplands via the Cosmodrome.
@@weirddrama1617 Don't know about bugs, just finished playing my second time, start to finish, without hitting a single game breaking bugs. Found a few ones, but nothing tha stopped me from playing twice (on xbox btw). The load times are massive tho >.>
Question??? Is there a level requirement for the Magmamaker? I went to that weapons vender and he doesn't anything for me to buy at all. I can only sell to him. What level were you when you found this?
The Overwhelmer straight up carried me from the moment i picked it up all the way to the end. Using that at maxed level + the bitsplit as secondary essentially dealt with all of the enemies at the end
RUINER really cool cyberpunk shooter with cool weapons too. Is great when you get rewarded for exploring and side quest, cyberpunk 2077 barely rewarded you well. You should be able to find broken and op weaponry
So to get the Dismemberer, you have to go to Scrapland. The work camp Is in a random building down there and you have to talk to the NPC. After you talk to him he turns in to an enemy (lvl 30) but he’s pretty weak. Kill him and save the Karlans and go back to Lockelsey to get the reward. I randomly finished this mission when I was doing the Harlan mission installing the VR cameras and I have to go to scrapland.
Just bought the magamaker last night before watching this, it MELTS humans and non robots edit: I forgot to mention, it kills those heavy shield dudes too, from the FRONT!
I'm loving the game! Best stress reliever. :P This game reminds me of Crusader No Regret/Remorse and that old 1998 game The Creed by EA. Don't forget to include the "The Dealbreaker" auto shotgun FTW!
Don't know at what level i got the overwhelmer but it was fairly early. I put a lot upgrades on health and dodge and used the first pants you get, the freeflow pants, they give you +8 on feet.
Did you know there is ebr rifle similar to kenetic but energy and also shoot homing charges( discription dosent say about homing part but it does folow enemys) and does crazy damage i even use it more than others against cyber enemys. And simple to get you buy it ftom any vendor after lev 17

I got the overwhelmer ... Its much harder locating the correct area than it is diving for checkpoints. Once i found the correct area ... It took 2 tries to get the checkpoints qnd finally the gun.
Help ! Can't seem to Pick up the 1st weapon the Magmamaker,i went to the guy that sells guns shown at 1:29 and he has nothing for me to buy from his inventory,is there some pre requisite Quest or Level you have to be to Buy it ?
i got a bunch of uniques now. streetsweeper - smg p90 the first - shot gun 2 other shot guns and another smg that bounces bullets. oh and a mini gun that fires RPG's
The people who did the soundtracks for Mother Russia Bleeds and the classic Apocalypse PS1 game, should have done the music for this game. Other than that, The Ascent is interesting fun and full contact. Like the customisations.
I got the overwhelmer also like u said... i ran through the world just of beeing curious... no missions, just wanna see everything, thats my typ of playing and enjoying games overall. And my stubborn ass wanted to see whats up with those green special forces where you find tge gun. After like 35 death arround 6- 7 hours of the game at this place... i got it and use it up to know
Man I got lucky with the overwhelmer! I was running around looking for the truck, got killed and then respawnes literally right next to the truck and got it. What.A.Gun!
Yo when do purple weapons start dropping? I have gold in my inventory and grey but I thought gold was only because of the upgrade level? I’m at the part of the story where your working for Y Corp. not sure how far into the story that is but my character is level 17 or something like that….. anything I need to know? Oh btw. Armor inventory for me is the same idea
This game is an absolute anomaly. I have never liked this genre. Never liked these locked camera, top down, strafe shooters ever in my life. But this, this game is astounding. I cant explain it. Its too damn good. Im gonna start giving more like this some time now cause i need more games like this.
@@DGneoseeker1 it's at silo 86.. Starts at 1k dps without upgrades Used in combination with lockon fire it melts any boss units due to its high ammo count of 200
I DID get the overwhelmer from the get go lol I got the bug where enemies failed to spawn and ran all over the map. Yes it was boring (the whole time I was like WTF?? but boy is this gun loud...) but NO do I regret doing it AT ALL! I tear through bots in the Scrapland as quick or quicker than I do with an energy weapon... a little unbalanced much?? Anyway my problem is I can never find any good pants. I'm still using the byxor dropped off a lvl5 mob.
Are these weapons very good or just look cool? I've gotten 3 of them, but it's hard to compete DPS wise with my upgraded NCF Heat. So it's hard to say if it's just the upgrades, or they're nice but maybe not the best DPS wise. Also the rarity color on the weapon is white
I found that good armors are more difficult to get than other equipments. Still using E-50 set dropped by enemies, vendors still selling low tier armors only after I joined the Y Corp.
I wonder if the Overwhelmer is available elsewhere as I've had it since about level 7 and I don't remember having to go past any level 25 dudes to get there. Not even sure I've been to the location started in the video. But seriously does that gun slap. It's been pretty much all I've used
Really fun game, lota game glitches where ememies don't load or game crashes all together but still trying to get through it. Hope they can patch it sooner then later
In my first real playthrough I managed to get lucky, and the game bugged out, not spawning enemies at all at one point after a certain main mission. Because of this, I was able to just stroll up and take the Overwhelmer at level 7. Ultimately, it's not that great of a weapon but not bad either. Since it's explosions, it can hurt you. In the end game, it gets beat out by the FIRST WEAPON you have in the start of the game. At least, with a Blue stat build, maxing out on as much possible Motorics stat as possible, where your aim is a non issue and reloading is near instant.
ER chrome puncher is very useful for mechs and robots mid to final gaming. roomsweeper, overwhelmer and the 30 ammo launcher for rojins, vipers or any humans just pump up the reload skill after finishing vitalitiy and evade shotguns are useless
Be careful when trying to go do a quick run for the overwhelmer, as most of the lvl 25 mooks there have guns with homing bullets. I died probably 3 dozen times trying to get it and never even made it close. I finally got it when i was level 17 and had a minigun, I was able to whittle down the enemies slowly until I had cleared a path.
Thanks for this... finding all the fun guns are at least half the fun. I'm still settling in on which guns I like and one of them is the HCF Heat. How does the Magmamaker compare to the HCF Heat? My Mk 3 Heat does 328 DPS... granted it's a little less but the range is really good and it's also a fire weapon. I mow through meat puppets...
Not really fair to compare a single shot sidearm to a AOE firehose xD single targets the Heat I recon surrounded by mean meat puppies or clumped up enemies der Flammenwerfer of Hanz is better.
What is the difference between the EBR and the ABR. Also how have you managed to max upgrade 3 weapons when there is only enough superior components in the game to fully upgrade 2 weapons in a play through. I got every chest and static component in the game.

I ❤️ this game. I'm enamored with the Flame thrower and Dominator, and rocket launchers.
Just bought the magamaker last night before watching this, it MELTS humans and non robots
edit: I forgot to mention, it kills those heavy shield dudes too, from the FRONT!
You have to highlight the dealbreaker weapon too, it's by far one of the best weapon in the game 😉
Like the format. Subbed
I'm loving the game! Best stress reliever. :P This game reminds me of Crusader No Regret/Remorse and that old 1998 game The Creed by EA. Don't forget to include the "The Dealbreaker" auto shotgun FTW!
Dang, you're pulling at my heart strings mentioning Crusader: No Remorse! It definately crossed my mind...
@@nichoaus3070 Crusader was great!! Though I tried playing it again, the control system didn't age well. :(
Don't know at what level i got the overwhelmer but it was fairly early. I put a lot upgrades on health and dodge and used the first pants you get, the freeflow pants, they give you +8 on feet.
I’m running a minigun build, so I was going to upgrade the strobos, or do you think it’s worth it more to just use the Disintegrator??
The shotgun 'The Fist' is amazing 👍
Did you know there is ebr rifle similar to kenetic but energy and also shoot homing charges( discription dosent say about homing part but it does folow enemys) and does crazy damage i even use it more than others against cyber enemys. And simple to get you buy it ftom any vendor after lev 17
Love the content. Commenting for the algorithm. If you're reading this comment and you're not subscribed to this channel, just know that I know people, who know people
The newtron wave is a very good augment lays enemies done quick! Can buy it or find it in a chest!
I got the overwhelmer ... Its much harder locating the correct area than it is diving for checkpoints. Once i found the correct area ... It took 2 tries to get the checkpoints qnd finally the gun.
Help ! Can't seem to Pick up the 1st weapon the Magmamaker,i went to the guy that sells guns shown at 1:29 and he has nothing for me to buy from his inventory,is there some pre requisite Quest or Level you have to be to Buy it ?
i got a bunch of uniques now.
streetsweeper - smg p90
the first - shot gun
2 other shot guns and another smg that bounces bullets. oh and a mini gun that fires RPG's
So is the overwhelmer worth upgrading?
Hard yes!
The Magmamaker is not showing in the vendor inventory? Do I need to be a specific level or something? Thanks
same for me
The people who did the soundtracks for Mother Russia Bleeds and the classic Apocalypse PS1 game, should have done the music for this game. Other than that, The Ascent is interesting fun and full contact. Like the customisations.
The dismember is from the mission (liberation operation) it’s the reward ! It’s goteens at eight co reception
You guys are always the best!
you can find the ABR commander else where, it's not exclusive to that chest, I forgot where I picked it up
I got the overwhelmer also like u said... i ran through the world just of beeing curious... no missions, just wanna see everything, thats my typ of playing and enjoying games overall.
What.A.Gun!
I went to buy the magma maker but he was not selling anything and I haven’t bought it so you know why
The game is awesome they really nailled it wiht the cyberpunk style and music!
What would be the best energy gun or best one to take out the machines to upgrade??
If you bought it on the first week or so, you'll get the Bitsplit shotgun, and it is GREAT at taking out robots and chunking mechs.
I like HMG42 DOMINATOR more than ABR Commander & Overwhelmer. 100 mag with reasonable reload time, and you can get it in very early stage
This game is an absolute anomaly. I have never liked this genre. Never liked these locked camera, top down, strafe shooters ever in my life. But this, this game is astounding. I cant explain it. Its too damn good. Im gonna start giving more like this some time now cause i need more games like this.
Chest are random besides ice upgrades because the ABR wasnt in that chest which isnt bad you can buy the gun.
theres another unique gun that you can get near the end, the dealbreaker.. its a combination of minigun and shotgun
Really close to the end? As in I should upgrade a normal minigun because there's no point trying to save up lots of upgrades for this?
@@DGneoseeker1 it's at silo 86.. Starts at 1k dps without upgrades
Used in combination with lockon fire it melts any boss units due to its high ammo count of 200
The npc appears when you get to a certain level. I think its 19-20 and you also have do have done another side quest if i remember right
The Dismemberer is a quest reward from Liberation Operation picked from Nitroad that send you to Scrapland
Right but scrapland has a prereq we can’t quite figure out
I DID get the overwhelmer from the get go lol I got the bug where enemies failed to spawn and ran all over the map.
Nice video guys, this game looks prosmising, and this kind of video was not out there yet, please make one for energy weps as they are need it.
No promises but we have a few more vids in the pipeline!
@@LegacyGamingUS yea keep them coming
This game is amazing!!!
I love this game. It's a lot of fun.
The Magmamaker is awesome, even Ellen Ripley will love to attach it to his pulse rifle with duct tape.
Surprised you did not mention the smg with richochet bullets or the gatling shotgun
ER chrome puncher is very useful for mechs and robots mid to final gaming.
roomsweeper, overwhelmer and the 30 ammo launcher for rojins, vipers or any humans just pump up the reload skill after finishing vitalitiy and evade
shotguns are useless
Be careful when trying to go do a quick run for the overwhelmer, as most of the lvl 25 mooks there have guns with homing bullets. I died probably 3 dozen times trying to get it and never even made it close. I finally got it when i was level 17 and had a minigun, I was able to whittle down the enemies slowly until I had cleared a path.
Yep, that's why we warned everyone haha. But there were several here in the comments that pulled it off super early!
DISMEMBER is a quest reward for the mission Liberation Operation, in Nitroad
Thx i was trying to say the same but i only know the quest name in german :/ so i had to describe the quest xD
Yeah, I got the Overhwlemer around level 15. before I finished the third quest.
Aww the saw blades, now imma go on a chase to track that gun down myself.
For an indie game, this hella fun. Even more so than any mainstream game.
Where do u got the Kraken ability from?
The Magmamaker is missing from the vendor's buy tab. No guns to buy.
What is the difference between the EBR and the ABR. Also how have you managed to max upgrade 3 weapons when there is only enough superior components in the game to fully upgrade 2 weapons in a play through. I got every chest and static component in the game.
The EBR is an energy weapon
You for got the dealbreaker 😱
i went ti that place where he sale magmamaker but i cant buy anything from him im lvl 15 maby to early?
I went back got it when i was lvl 20 i think
