Here's an at home tip! If the skin tag is big or loose enought, grab yourself a string of dental floss. Tie it close to the skin around the skin tag (if it's on your arm it helps to have a friend do this) and square knot (double knot) it. Pull it as tight as you can. It'll feel weird for an hour or so, but you'll start to notice something. First, it will turn purple, then brown, then black. Within a week, you would have suffocated the skin tag. The veins and nerves shut down within the skin tag due to a lack of blood flow. Once it turns black, it will either fall off on its own, or easily pop off with a gentle tug with no blood!

Alternatively you can tie some thread around it tightly, cutting off the circulation and it's drops off after some time. I did this years ago, works fine
They don’t recommend string because it also can cause bacteria growth and in some cases amputation. - cotton string for example can be very deadly. Babies who get hair wrapped around them can have amputations of fingers toes or limbs - adults can get gangrene etc They have plastic skin tag bands that can be stretched a bit then put overtop the area then snap closed on the base of the skin tag because it’s antibacterial/microbial it tends to be a healthier option which has less risk of other issues. Altho it’s still recommended to go to a doctor rather then amazon purchases. As some skin tags may be cancer.
Also as long as it isn’t super big you can dab some Apple Cider Vinegar on a cotton ball and tape it to it for a few hours and it will eat it off. Cool trick I done on one I had and it hasn’t came back since.

Skin tags are usually caused by poor diet and poor lifestyle choices. They have a connection to metabolic disease. You could research how to get metabolically healthy here on UA-cam. There are milder channels like Dr. Berg, and there are more "extreme" channels like Dr. Ken Berry, or even really extreme like Dr. Anthony Chaffee. Any one of those channels would give you the building blocks that you need to start correcting your metabolic disease...
@@khutchinsoncpa1 That does not align with what I've learned. A metabolically healthy woman, who exercises and avoids carbohydrates would not have any skin tags or problems like that during pregnancy or menopause. Not to mention, hormone imbalances are a consequence of being metabolically unhealthy... So, it just doesn't follow in my mind that these two can exist at the same time. Maybe some people think they are living healthy, but are misguided.... Skin tags are your sign that you aren't living a healthy lifestyle.
This is how I was told to remove them Tie a bit of string in the skin tag (this is to cut off blood flow) after a while, it eventually falls off. Which was surprising bc I genuinely thought she was just tricking me or something
yes this is how i got mine removed i once had one on my neck and my dad secretly tied my own hair strand i know it sounds weird but we didn't have any strings and after like 2 days it fell off
In India , we use horse tail hair( single hair ) to tie that particular area tightly and let it free after some hours the skin tag will automatically die because of zero blood flow to the skin tag then we can pick it up… It helps to avoid lot of pain and blood loss .. hope it’ll help 😊
@@richardchambers256if you don't have horse hair, you can go for long human hair and tie it tightly. I did the same with my mom's hair and it got removed within 2-3 weeks and after that it didn't even grow. It's been around 6 years till now.

I took a hair from my head and tied it tightly around the base of the skin tag, which cut off the blood supply, and within a week it was dead and I snipped it off at the base and it never came back.
Works good with some cotton or dental floss, too. 😊 But you have to make sure it's really tight. Otherwise, blood can still get through and could swell up.
"Some people _think_ you can just rip them off." Buddy, if I have to spend the time and money to go to a doctor versus ripping it off myself and dealing with a little pain for a bit...it's getting ripped off.
In some countries it's actually free 😅 My family member removed a lot of them like that, totally for free. It's also painful, but there is no open wound and the skin heals within about 1.5-2 weeks. . They have tiny bands that cut off the circulation so they die off or like the other comment said you use wart remover because it's the same thing as freezing it
For everyone here unaware, you can do this at home with an at-home freeze kit. They sell them at CVS for cheap, typically they are used to remove warts, but can also be used for this purpose.
As someone who has ripped a skin tag off of their leg once, you will need several hundred band aids to stop it bleeding for a few seconds, and that’s only a slight exaggeration

Ripping it off: Small chance of a light infection A tiny pinch of pain Going to the doctor to freeze it off: Have to drive all the way to the hospital Gotta pay for the gas Lose at least 20 minutes of your life Gotta wait to be admitted Stupidly long process Have to pay for it (if you’re American)
Tip for people that don’t wanna rip it off and don’t want to spend 1000$, tie a knot around it with floss or any other thin string and slowly tighten it over time. The skin tag will die due to lack of blood flow and fall off naturally. I’ve done this three times before so I know it works! depending on how big it is it might take a week or more so I would use a bandaid to cover up the string. (One of mine was on my belly and was naturally covered on my shirt but the other was on my neck, so I covered it up) plus it’ll keep the knot from slipping off.
When I was child the older people told us to tie the skin tag with our own hair strands, we shouldn't tie with any other threads or strings. It will fall after some weeks or a month.
@@estherrani9838 I guess hair could work but any kind of thread is fine don’t worry. And ya it’ll fall off in a week to a month depending on how big it is!
hair strands is what you should use. It's thin and strong. You're strangulating the tag out of existence. Your method works great! You make one knot to strangle the tag and a second one to secure the first one. Cut off the excess hair and it'll stay secure till it falls off.
I did it with a stick that has ant venom inside. You can get it in any pharmacy. Daily put some stuff on the tag and after 2 weeks it simply shrivels down and falls off. Is not painful (atleast for me).
Lol. Had warts on my knees when I was a kid. Doctors froze them but they came right back. So old fashioned way. Heated up a paper clip over a candle and burned them down
@NoName-yz7dw in the US skin tag removal costs between $100-$2000 on top of the $75-$200 doctor consultation just to have a doctor look at it. And insurance does not cover the cost unless it's life threatening.
I would like to put forward the third option; get some tough, but fine string and make a tiny locking noose knot. Get it around the base of the skin tag as tight as you can, and twice a day make sure it’s still tight as possible. It’ll sting a bit, but if the tag isn’t huge it’ll cut off the blood circulation like a tourniquet and will come off with very little blood in roughly a week.
I bought a kit that works on the same principle, but it's a tiny tiny rubber band instead that tightens on its own so you don't have to. Worked like a charm.
I treated a skin tag myself. I worked in electronics troubleshooting and repair, and I had an aerosol freezer, which could be directed at a component to see if it would change its behaviour. When directed at anything, it would freeze that thing to about minus-30 degrees, so when I had a skin tag under my arm, I froze it with the aerosol. It went white with frost for a couple of minutes (which killed it), then it fell off after a couple of weeks, without leaving a sore. It seemed already healed. HOWEVER - after a couple of years, it had grown back again - so I froze it off again - but again, it only lasted a couple of years - so now, I just tolerate it.
I found out that skin tags are the result of skin touching skin on your body, or something else being almost constantly against it, constantly heating that area and irritating it. I have two that have formed on areas one, where I wear a strap connected to an apron at the job I work at, around the back of my neck, and another from an area where skin was against other skin, like under your underarms, so it must be true.🤷♀️
You can also use the band technique where you take a small elastic band and put it on the skin tag, eventually it will turn black and fall off. Worked multiple times for me with no issues of new skin tags.
Kinda sad how healthcare doesn't have the best affordable intentions in mind. just profit. Maybe some doctors want to genuinely help but they cant just tell you to leave the hospital and rubber band it yourself for free. Crappy system
don't rip it out, just tie some dental floss around it tight and wait a few days. it'll shrivel up, start turning black, and then fall off. make sure it remains clean and sterile. by the time it falls off, the skin underneath should have already healed and all you'll have left is a tiny scar this isn't substantially dangerous, there are products you can find in the medicine isle that'll do essentially the same thing except with tiny elastic o rings instead.
So for those who can't afford this option of having it professionally removed, you can safely remove them by: A) take thread and make a looped knot and slowly pull the end of the thread to tighten around base of tag, very tight. Tie and knot to keep it in place. The thread, when tied tight enough, will choke off blood supply, and within a few days, tag will fall off without leaving open wound. B) Buy wart remover from drug store, the kind that freezes them off is preferred over the salicylic acid wart remover. It may take a few applications. This is NOT the same as the freezing used in doctors office. It's a different chemical and is much weaker. Make sure to aim the wart spray at the base of tag, but to avoid healthy skin as much as you can. Wart removers come with multiple applications. Good for removing 1-6 tags. If you have a lot more tags, it's better to use method A or go to doctor as wart remover can become costly per pack if you need a lot.
I've tried the string technique. It works very well. The only issue is many times you need another person to do it for you in hard to reach areas where you would only have one hand. Like your underarm!
Believe in Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ was sinless and died for our sins, John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God bless you.
You can actually tie them with a thread and leave it, the thread will prevent the blood from getting into the skin tag thus it will not get any supplies and it will just dry and fall off by itself after few days, btw this is not painful at all.
I had one. I didn't rip it off, I pulled it out and removed a small bit of surrounding tissue with an exacto. No scarring or severe bleeding... Plus it's free.

@@thwahirmahammed4334 You might need someone to assist you. Get some string/hair, lift the skin tag up and tie the string at the base of the tag. Any sort of knot will do so long as it's secure. Make sure it tied tightly enough so you can feel it, but not so tight that it hurts. The string cuts off the blood flow and in about 3-7 days it'll fall off.
Yeah you could just rip it off, apply pressure to help platelets form a clot, apply isopropyl alchohol to prevent infection, and then apply a bandage. All for what is likely considerably cheaper than getting it frozen off.
Healthcare is free in my country but I still did it myself. Many minor surgeries and procedures can be done on oneself in an emergency. Personally I just don't like strangers touching me while I'm conscious at least.
its just the same thing as wart remover spray. just buy that stuff if you insist on freezing it. tho I wouldnt be surprised if the salicetic acid is also viable strategy if you wait long enough with the stuff on.
Depending on the size you could legit just grab it and pull it off with just a small amount of bleeding. The bigger ones will bleed more but you can stop bleeding pretty easily with pressure and deodorant. If it's really big you can tie a rubber band or string tightly around it, depriving it of blood until it falls off or you can just pull it off. I also recommend some anti-bacterial numbing spray you can get over the counter at CVS, not required but it helps and it's cheaper than a doctor's visit.
@@Cerioth exactly. My mom worked in the medical field and would remove them for family members free of charge. We would get a Q-tip, rub it on the deodorant, and then rub the Q-tip on the area after soaking up most of the blood.
Just tie it off with a silk thread or hair. Keep tightening it with new thread every few days until you don't feel any sensation in it. It will die and fall off naturally in a week or so.. or you can cut it off with a sanitized nail cutter after a week, and you should be absolutely fine. A doctor's visit will cost a lot. "Ripping it off would cause significant bleeding." Yes, like any other minor wound that comes in contact with blood vessels. So long as manageable bleeding is not a threat to your longevity (for some with conditions such as sickle cell anemia, it can be), you will be fine. Just hold a small tissue over the area and you won't have to worry. "The open wound would be susceptible to infection." Yes, just like any other open wound. If you disinfect the area and keep it clean, your chances of infection drastically decrease. You are perfectly fine to remove skin tags, yourself so long as you follow the proper precautions. I'd recommend removing it via wire shearing, simple cutting, or torsion. Wire shearing where you take a thin piece of wire-like material (such as floss), disinfect it, and wrap it around the base of the skin-tag while pulling until it shears the tag off. Torsion is where you spin it until it is taut back and forth until it tears off.
Here’s another way to get one off- since there is blood flow in the skin tag, tie some string around it towards the bottom where it is connected to your body. This will cut off the blood circulation and the skin tag will become dead skin. Then after a few days, (or wait a week if you want) just grab it and (carefully just in case it still isn’t dead skin) take it off. I had one on my chin and that’s how I got it off.

Dry ice usually isn't cold enough. You can use some over-the-counter wart freezing devices though. It might take a few sessions. The issue is freezing the entire tag or it's not going to work.
There is a old style of removing them that I heard from my grandma, you take a sewing thread and tie a small knot around it at the point where its connected to your skin. Tie it very tightly and loss of blood to the area should allow the area to die off and then you should tighten the tie more after a few days till the tag fully falls off

if they’re small enough you can use finger nail clippers… it doesn’t hurt as bad as you think it might
They don’t recommend string because it also can cause bacteria growth and in some cases amputation. - cotton string for example can be very deadly. Babies who get hair wrapped around them can have amputations of fingers toes or limbs - adults can get gangrene etc
They have plastic skin tag bands that can be stretched a bit then put overtop the area then snap closed on the base of the skin tag because it’s antibacterial/microbial it tends to be a healthier option which has less risk of other issues. Altho it’s still recommended to go to a doctor rather then amazon purchases. As some skin tags may be cancer.

If no one has tried this yet, try it now!! Tie a string around it and make it tight so that the blood circulation stops going to the skin tag leave it on for a few days and it will drop off on its own. Cut off the ends of the string so it doesn’t bother you. I have done this many times.

Dental floss is perfect for removing them

I like these videos because I get to know something I didn't know
I treated a skin tag myself. HOWEVER - after a couple of years, it had grown back again - so I froze it off again - but again, it only lasted a couple of years - so now, I just tolerate it.
actually kind of amazing how the body repairs itself so well, even if your mind doesn't like the skin tag

Freeze it off again 🥶
You can also use the band technique where you take a small elastic band and put it on the skin tag, eventually it will turn black and fall off. Worked multiple times for me with no issues of new skin tags.

Free with insurance. Unless there’s a co-pay, then it may vary but should be relatively inexpensive.
In Australia we can buy treatments for 20aud. I used it to get rid of a planterwort
don't rip it out, just tie some dental floss around it tight and wait a few days. it'll shrivel up, start turning black, and then fall off.
make sure it remains clean and sterile. by the time it falls off, the skin underneath should have already healed and all you'll have left is a tiny scar
this isn't substantially dangerous, there are products you can find in the medicine isle that'll do essentially the same thing except with tiny elastic o rings instead.
$150 in Canada
So for those who can't afford this option of having it professionally removed, you can safely remove them by:
A) take thread and make a looped knot and slowly pull the end of the thread to tighten around base of tag, very tight.
If you have a lot more tags, it's better to use method A or go to doctor as wart remover can become costly per pack if you need a lot.
you could probably rip it off and be fine but a little rubbing alcohol and neosporin wouldn't be bad
Floss works
This comment is actually funny for someone who lives in the EU. "For those who can't afford this option" :D

What was the video about
I got one a couple of months ago. Spent 3 weeks slowly picking at it, taking a little flesh each time until it was finally gone. There was blood, but it was free.
The men's way. Our way.
I just clip mine off with a toenail clipper.
@@Burryto_boymy grandma did this too. Don’t believe only men do this🤦♀️ and it can be dangerous (doesn’t have to be but it could have a dangerous aftermath)
Man I monitored mine with betadine and hydrogen peroxide, I kept it clean
@@divine_simplicity do you even have a sense of humor
You can also wrap a thread or hair around it and leave it there until it shrivels up and falls off by itself.
That’s exactly what I done, while I was in the cinema w a peice of my hair
That's how they neuter bulls... just thought i'd share that
Bruh could you explain how to do this
Exactly what I did, and it came out by itself, also make sure to sterilize the thread and put sterilized bandage on it to keep it clean in case it came off
@@thwahirmahammed4334 You might need someone to assist you.
Ahh yessss lets use ice cubes

I actually bit of a skin tag once, miraculously nothing bad happened
Depending on the size you could legit just grab it and pull it off with just a small amount of bleeding. The bigger ones will bleed more but you can stop bleeding pretty easily with pressure and deodorant. If it's really big you can tie a rubber band or string tightly around it, depriving it of blood until it falls off or you can just pull it off. I also recommend some anti-bacterial numbing spray you can get over the counter at CVS, not required but it helps and it's cheaper than a doctor's visit.
Deoderant?..

@@silly-xj3sq I would assume they mean antiperspirant. I assume the idea is that it'll create a barrier to stop the bleeding

But the method I have described is tried, tested and safe.
Yup. Done that

@@r0s3_th0rnssGet a freezing pen, which is what the doc is useing in this video. Unless you like to spend $1000 and days worth of apts. It would take you 5min and like 20 bucks. You could prob even trip it off or cut it. A pea size cut isnt nothing
Skin tag castration...
"Ripping it off would cause significant bleeding."
Yes, like any other minor wound that comes in contact with blood vessels. So long as manageable bleeding is not a threat to your longevity (for some with conditions such as sickle cell anemia, it can be), you will be fine. Just hold a small tissue over the area and you won't have to worry.
"The open wound would be susceptible to infection."
Yes, just like any other open wound.

TOO STRONG
yeah i hate this pseudo medical advice bs, he sounds like he gets a commission off liquid nitrogen lol
i love the part where he explains what a skin tag actually is
Here’s another way to get one off- since there is blood flow in the skin tag, tie some string around it towards the bottom where it is connected to your body. This will cut off the blood circulation and the skin tag will become dead skin. Then after a few days, (or wait a week if you want) just grab it and (carefully just in case it still isn’t dead skin) take it off. I had one on my chin and that’s how I got it off.
For us we do it with our hair

Fun fact you can get dry ice at your local grocery store and it works the same
Dry ice usually isn't cold enough. You can use some over-the-counter wart freezing devices though. It might take a few sessions. The issue is freezing the entire tag or it's not going to work.
😂

Back in the day drs used to remove them now it’s highly unlikely a gp will remove them in the uk unless it’s private
There is a old style of removing them that I heard from my grandma, you take a sewing thread and tie a small knot around it at the point where its connected to your skin. Tie it very tightly and loss of blood to the area should allow the area to die off and then you should tighten the tie more after a few days till the tag fully falls off

Oh just like a cow
Reminds me quite a bit of how hemorrhoids are sometimes removed with little rubber bands (litigation?).
So you kill a part of you? 😢
Or hear me out, they have tag removers that are tiny rubber bands that choke it and it falls off or twist it to cut circulation. Cheaper but takes longer to do
It doesn't sound healthy, what if the meat starts rooting and it extends to the normal skin?

As someone who has done it both ways I can tell you, freezing it off is a much better way to go. Get it freezed(or get a freezing kit like for warts), put a bandage over it, let it fall off on its own. Youcould also use the string method if you are able to get a string tied around it.
How much was it to get it freezed?
Yea, tell us how much.
dr scholl's freeze-away for warts & skin tags is $15 per bottle. is good for a couple dozen skin treatments too. or you can go to a doctor and pay them 10x that much for 1/20th of the treatments.
What are the tricks for people that can't afford a doctor?
It's way cheaper to do it yourself with a freeze kit. Doctors will charge ridiculous prices
