Nice comparison. I agree with the slightly wonky animations in this one. It was exciting bitd to see the whole field with no pass windows. After you review 96, play Madden 97 on Saturn or PS1 - it is still 2D so feels like a supercharged Genesis Madden game , still fun today IMO.
Bill Walsh 95 is one of the best football game on Sega Genesis, Madden 95 is the best Madden on Sega Genesis, however Madden 94 had better sound and overall atmosphere.
I feel the weakest madden was this one. When I fired it up I swore it was an imposter. So much of a let down from 94 and previous versions. The player sprites were squared out and stick figurish. Whereas 94 and previous were the thick, bubbly looking players that I actually felt added better graphics and colors popped so much more. 95 an extreme letdown. 96 and after recovered ok. But 94 (BEST IMO) and earlier were the best ones.
I think if Madden 94 had windowless passing and 2 point conversions it would be by far the best Madden on Genesis... that is why I think Bill Walsh 95 is the best football game on the Sega Genesis.
This is in my opinion the best Madden game on the Genesis. Either this game or the next...
I should have my Madden 96 review up later this week. We'll see if I like it better than 95 ;)
Man, I loved this game. Still one of my favorites as far as the old ones go.

I had 97 on the Saturn when it came out. I'll try to review it one day.
I agree. I want to love this game because it's got the 94' Dolphins and the FOX logo & theme, but I just don't find it fun to play.
