- Nurdles are tiny plastic pellets that form the raw materials of most of today’s plastic products and are made of polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride and other plastics. They are melted down and cast into moulds to make various plastic products. Today, nurdles are rapidly degrading our oceans.

I find it deplorable that all companies that use plastic for packaging are rarely held responsible for pollution in general. They're not even part of the conversation. When plastic is banned these non reusable bottles and tubes are never taken into consideration. Why? It is always the consumer and only the consumer that needs to be eco friendly, the manufacturers aren't mandated to recycle the plastic they generate. Every "save the earth" policy is joke unless this is addressed.
Exactly. If the UN or the govt. bodies make the manufacturing banned then it will never be available to consumers also.

I'm a Fishery Scientist and found these nurdles inside the stomach of fishes. I was wondering what these are and came to know because of your video. It's shocking for me to know that this is also a root cause for mass fish kills. Because the fishes I operated were from fish kills that were found floating on the Sea. Government should fund for these kind of projects and strict regulations alone involving the stakeholders (especially fishermen) should be in place.
Re-use, reduce and recycle,are the best ways to reduce this plastic terror...

We need strict regulations regarding plastic..
I recently came across a policy several places use to push manufacturers to be more responsible. They add a recycling tax to whatever their packaging material is and it increases depending on the difficulty of the material to be recycled. This not only makes the recycling industry more cost efficient, it also makes better recycling infrastructure something these companies would want for their own interest.
Also, there needs to be some kind of international consensus to deal with shipping related incidents in international waters. From the looks of it, currently if you just ship junk into open seas in an old dilapidated ship and blow it up in the sea, seems like nobody can be held accountable
Govts/humans will take action only when it troubles them...no one cares about other living beings...I sell my milk packets and recyclable covers... definitely not for money,but thinking it may end up in the stomach of animals if not recycled.....All of us should atleast do these small things...Get your own water bottle when u travel.. don't buy.. don't accept water bottles in airplane,or anywhere given out of hospitality...

Stop using packaged foods...
Here in India everything was fine and organic until the westerners came wagging their tails .
We used to use :-
1. paper for packaging ( never used plastics and what westerners did ? They even packed water in plastic bottles )
2. Terracotta utensils ( eco friendly + economically friendly as it provided employment to a large scale of people )
3. Bio degradable plates ( like pattal made from leaves)
4. Didn't used detergents which are one of the major cause of river pollution
( they used soap nut , see nature has arranged everything for us we just need to stop being imbeciles)
5 . Didn't craved luxuries ( which ultimately destroys nature)
6 . Were happy with whatever we had ..
7. We even used wood ash for cleaning metal utensils and also teeth .
9. There are many things for which we should thank westerners for but their and their MNCs greed has turned the Earth upside down .
I wish India had population control policy since 1947 along with its orignality then it would have been a completely different scenario .

If you dismiss all the good, anything will look bad. Just like nuclear. It can make explosions or it can make powerstation. A western invention.
India alone has 22 nuclear power stations.
The initiative that will remove 90% of plastic from worlds oceans by 2040, was also developed in west. A Dutch man.
Maybe we just close all borders and only use invention from our own cultures and countrie. Then nobody can point fingers and blame global problems on one hemisphere. Lol
One and one solution i) stop throwing all pastic related stuff into ocean, ii) stop manufacturing new plastic nordles and start recycling old nordles , used plastics

The problem is plastic is not as recyclable as say metals. Their polymer threads break down when melted for Recycling. So they cannot be used for any purposes which are for human consumption like plates and water tanks

Ban the closeup toothpaste which have microbeads plastic in square shape and also the cosmetic products needs be studied for pollution caused by packaging and making.

I think its time that laws were made and packeging need not be in plastic . Most can be avoided . Its really surprising that no laws are there . Mans greed is more than the need . I remember when we were children bread came wraped in butter paper now in plastic .tonns and tonns of plastic bags to pack bread see the consumption . Well knowing and not doing anything . On our own lets be mindful and do what we can do . Its simple do and project.

Recently Mr. Stalin has taken a very effective step to stop the use of plastic bags then why all the CMs or Union govt is not taking any step. They are focusing on social things, religious even social media platforms then why this ignorance for environment.
