- A video by Jim Snell, for 25 years, formerly a spokesman for the GasGas motorcycle company. ~ Aware that few people on Earth possess the detailed knowledge of the older GasGas Trials machines, Jim has chosen to share some of his videos that cover the mechanical aspects of these older machines built prior to 2002. In this video, Jim shows you how to properly adjust the hydraulic clutch master cylinder on your Trials machine. (also applicable to off-road motorcycles using the AJP - Braktec type hydraulic clutch master cylinders.)
Great videos. I’m really new to trials and new to gasgas , I just brought a 2002 gasgas 125!and running poo , so hopefully with a carb rebuild and sort the clutch drag out we will be some where near .... thanks Jim
Another excellent tech video Jim! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
Excellent video. Have a GG Enduro with a similar clutch and was having a hard time getting the engagement point correct. This really helped. Thank you.
Very good video High quality explanations and images.

Cheers Jim learnt a lot 🍺🍺
Thanks vital information 🍻
hi Jim do u have a video on how to change the lever it's self??
Hi,,
The lever? You simply take the bolt out and change the lever.
If you mean the entire master cylinder, you simply unscrew the hydraulic hose form the unit and unbolt it from the handlebar.
Best regards, Jim
OK thank you very much for ur fast reply very helpful 🖒👍
What if the rubber protection cone is loose and not fulfilling a sealed off fit
Then it needs to be replaced if you want to return it to as-new. Dirt entry would be related to the type of element exposure use the specific machine endures.
where can i get mineral oil in spain or if not what is the fluid called?
muchos saludos, Jim Snell
What would be considered clutch drag?
"drag" means that the clutch does not completely disengage and the bike continues to move forward even when the clutch lever is pulled-in.
Clutch slip is when the clutch cannot keep the bike moving forward as the clutch is losing grip. Slip happens first in higher/taller gears typically, then progresses. You first notice slip as the engine is revving when the bike is not accelerating in a corresponding way, this is almost always caused by the fiber plates being worn-out.
