    The Kelpie meat they ate this episode is very close to horse meat. IRL, horse meat is actually surprisingly good, and the meat is similar to lean beef with a little hint of sweetness and gaminess. My favorite is this Filipino dish called Tapang Kabayo, which is fried horse meat marinated in soy sauce, calamansi (Small citrus fruit found in the Philippines, similar to lemon and lime), and spices. Best served with garlic fried rice, fried egg, and a cup of coffee which makes it an ideal breakfast meal.

    You can tell how much Falin means to Marcille, and this and what everyone else feels will drive the story to next levels :') cant wait for when we get to The Horrors. Dungeon Meshi feels like reading a single huge book, everything is connected and she (the author) is really a writing master

    Liver is rich in iron, so it helps her regain some of the blood she lost.

      My mom once had iron-deficiency (anemia) when I was young, and she had a full diet of iron tablets which she really hated. Until our neighbor offered to have us to try their "liver" steak recipe. It looked like steak, but the texture was really liver. I got used to the dish that it became one of my childhood favorites. Helped with my mom's choice of diet while supplementing me with iron (don't have to cook my food separately and opt to eat whatever my mom eats). I never had anemia which is surprising that my mom's side of the family were always anemic.

    Bats are vital for the ecosystem in many areas, the ones that eat insects (a good majority of them) are extremely effective pest control to the point where in a world without them would be ravaged often by famine due to the sheer amount of insects. Since they are flying mammals they are abnormally good vectors for disease since unlike birds they are more closely related to humans and other mammalian livestock which makes them a more suitable secondary host for pathogens that effect us and can therefore pass other pathogens from other species onto us, This is further aided by the fact that they fly and because their bodies are adapted to flying their metabolisms allow them to survive/coexist to the diseases they harbor, which unlike dead hosts are able to further spread diseases to our comparatively weak immune systems. Their benefits however outweigh their detriments however, but if one were to be in prolonged contact with bats, it is best advised to get tested for diseases afterwards.
    Fun fact: Bat guano has been harvested for centuries as an excellent source of fertilizer, It is no wonder that they are so vital for dungeons

    Falin is like the cutest thing... when are we gonna rescue her!!!
    Marcille has been the center of the last couple episodes and I think that has been great! ^.^
    Bats are mainly divided into 2 groups. Fruits bats and insect bats. Vampiric bats are very rare, there are only 3 known/classified species.
    In general, all bats are good for any given ecosystem. So much that they are used as ecological indicators to determine the health of a region.

    maybe they called the undine as that in the show because it's much easier to pronounce it that way in Japanese

    • @andrewsuryali8540
      @andrewsuryali8540 7 місяців тому +20

      It's actually supposed to be pronounced undeenz in English, but nobody really does that. The way they pronounce it in the show is technically the correct one because the word itself is Latin. The Latin pronunciation would be on-dee-nay.

      @Bayard1503 7 місяців тому +1

      @suryali8540 on-dee-nay? not really, no, I'll try to explain it but I never know exactly how, especially to English speakers.... dee is right but it's not for on or nay. Ne is almost identical to the way you hear it in Japanese when asking "right"? And "un" is kind of like in rune without the r. Also it doesn't really matter how it's "supposed" to be said in English because it has a Latin origin and was reinvented later with the Latin way of saying it.

    • @andrewsuryali8540
      @andrewsuryali8540 7 місяців тому

      @@Bayard1503 Most American English speakers pronounce Japanese "ne" as "nay" as this is the closest they can get. As for the "un" part, the original Latin was ONdine, not UNdine because that's how Paracelsus originally wrote it. It's a bit weird because the root Latin word is unda, but ondine was how the original guy who originally invented the word originally wrote it, so technically the Latin should be pronounced with an "on" sound. Undine is the common spelling now because English got the word from French. Ondine is now considered alternative because the vast majority of modern use of the word is in languages other than Latin, using the French-derived spelling.

    • @Bayard1503
      @Bayard1503 7 місяців тому

      @@andrewsuryali8540 Interesting, because the word has been transformed in onda in most modern Romance languages, so it makes sense that a Renaissance man would write it like that. On the other hand in my language we still use the word as unda with the Latin way of saying the U.

    @Bayard1503 7 місяців тому +5

    Bats are good for eating bugs like mosquito's at night while birds like martins are good for eating them during the day.
