@BoomThundercats I think it's created to intrigue people, to awaken something inside them, that everything is so complex yet so simple, To make you go anywhere while you don't have to.
@BoomThundercats As pretentious as it is, at least it's not as cliche as your ad hominum response. If your opinion of the artistic value of this video is anything other than the manifestation of the power of association for your fondness of the music, I would be utterly astounded. By all means, if you can offer some insight into the great artistic vision behind burning a sparkler through cardboard, stop-motion oragami or pouring food coloring over stenciled wallpaper I'd love to hear it.
@BoomThundercats Thousands of bands have created thousands of great low/no-budget videos. What you have here is a director seems more concerned with trying to make the video feel like a high concept surrealism than actual artistic execution. Instead of forming a clear artistic vision and following it through in a constructive format, the director just ties together arbitrary and random ideas that he thinks will impress the viewer. That is, by definition, pretension.
