PARIS! Bridge of NO Locks, The Hunchback, and the most AMAZING place....

  • We ended up at the most amazing place I've ever seen by accident today! Along the way we saw the Post des arts, the famous Bridge now stripped of all its locks, hope nobody steals it! We also visit some wacky pop-up shops and travel to the home of Quasimodo, the infamous Hunchback of Notre Dame!! Go inside ancient medieval churches, see the place where French Saints and Emperors tread the holy places of one of the world's greatest cities, Paris! And as a bonus, see where Randomland Adventures was born!

I've never learned much about French history, but you're really making me want to start buying textbooks! I love how much history you include into these videos, and I love that you're showing so many beautiful and amazing places that a lot of people never get to see in person during their lifetimes. Love this video so much!!

I remember watching this video 2 years ago and was so mesmerized and wanted to see its beauty again... I've never been to Paris before and hope one day to visit here and hope by then they will rebuild... also hope that the treasure didn't get damaged. Thanks Justin for the memories!

Oh my! The inside of Notre Dame is breath taking! Thank you for sharing Justin! I will never see it in person, but as with many places...seeing them through your eyes (and Ally's eyes) is just like being there! Merci!

Awww thank goodness my husband and I got to place our lock on the bridge and throw our key in the water on one of our trips there. You two are so adorable in Paris. You don't need the locks. 💑

Magnificent! Outstanding video Justin. You are right that it is difficult to be impressed with today's architecture such as a new mall or highrise, when you see works of art such as these buildings. I would be utterly speechless in trying to find the words to describe, what you have shown. Our deepest thanks, to you and Ally for putting forth such a huge effort to share the beauty of this timeless city.

Keep going to these great destinations, improving your camera work, upgrading yours and Ally's wardrobe, and improving your already entertaining delivery of observations. I think you will start attracting the type of valuable commercial interest you need to take your channel to the next step :-)

It's so interesting that the locks were only there a few years ago. Like they had a character put a lock on that bridge in the first Now You See Me movie. I wonder what happened to the locks?
That first church was gorgeous, it's like being inside an Easter egg! And be honest, how tempted were you to break out into 'the Belles of Notre Dame' when those belles started ringing? Lol

The Sainte Chapelle is so beautiful! But from us in the 21st century we're so used to having so much glass around us, so used to inside being as bright as outside... think of medieval times when like a 4" square of coloured glass was a luxury, inside was lit by candles and fires, inside = dark (not always a bad thing, cozy, quiet, cool on hot days....) But then imagine walking into Sainte Chapelle on a sunny morning - you'd think you were literally seeing into heaven with so much light and colour! We take those light levels for granted but when it was built, it must have been absolutely awe-inspiring.
If you ever get to the UK, visit Wells Cathedral in Somerset, it's so ancient and very weird!
Also, I wish I'd been a fly on the wall at the meeting when someone pitched "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" as the next Disney Animated Feature.... How did that happen? How on earth did they go "YES! This dark, mature story of rejection and strife, love and hate, that'll make an excellent kids' movie! Just a few plot tweaks..."

So... If some dealer selling those locks were unscrupulous, they could keep one of the keys these locks came with and go around the area, and collect the locks sold to tourists and resell them again...

Sainte Chapelle has evening instrumental concerts that are very nice to attend. Also, the Crown of Thorns worn my Christ used to be housed there. The stand above the altar on the second floor. The Crown of Thorns are on display at certain times of the year in Notre Dame. Enjoy your time there, Paris is my favorite city to visit.

FYI. If you noticed there are no pews in the church. In the early centuries it wasn't French custom to have pews during their services. It was a British thing. Learned that at the fortress of louisbourg in Nova Scotia that was a French fortress.
