Selma you have done an incredible job on the new Nativity scene it’s stunningly beautiful and will be a very special part of Christmas at Lalande for ever. You deserve to be very very proud.
As Christmas draws near, they move the figures closer to the manger. Then, they place the Holy Family in the crèche on Christmas Eve. They continue to bring the Magi closer little by little until they arrive on Epiphany, Jan. 6.Oct 8, 2016
@Erin Hope That's interesting. Do you think that, or do you know that? She certainly sings with confidence, and listening to her is a pleasure. Hope we get more of the trio over Christmas!
Oh my heavens!!!! That final song by the three was absolutely beautiful. Such glorious companiable, complimentary voices you have. Quite quite lovely, thank you Kat, Philip and Stephanie
Yes, the music made my heart swell with emotion...how wonderful to fill the chapel with music again...after sitting quiet for so many years. My 30 year old daughter inherited her grandfather's musical talent (he sang tenor with the Seattle Opera Company and we had many years of extended family caroling at their annual Christmas party; sadly, he died in January at the age of 96). My daughter has sung in choirs since middle school and I am looking forward to sharing this with he - I know it will bless her. I have told her about the Chateau and all of you...I found you through Michael Petherick's Doing it Ourselves (he looks so much like my 34 yr son! - hair and style of dress, too) a couple months ago and this is one of my favorite "feel good" places to visit when COVID life gets to be too much. I work at an elementary school and spend most of my day in small group ZOOM lessons with 2nd - 4th grade children. That connection is so important to all of us! Thank you for "refilling my heart with positivity" so I can return each day and pass that on to them.
Selmar was in his modern-day sleigh and had the gift of the organ delivering it to the Chapel of Joseph. The Creche had been build in the stables of La Londe.

My French grandmother had a huge village with the Crèche displayed during the holiday season. Fantastic. I see how Selmar was stated no time in getting to work. He is thoroughly attack this project. He’s an amazing artisan! He knows.❤️. Magnificent ideas and work, Selmar! The new figures are wonderful!

I'm beginning to think of Chateau de Lalande as medication, a nightly dose pushes even the worst of days away. Maybe my bad day made me slightly insane but the sight of Diesel in the creche in the back of a tractor sent me into fits of giggles such as I haven't experienced for months. Once again, blessings to you all.
Selmar did a wonderful and beautiful job! And all of you singing together was phenomenal! I’ve been having a very traumatic time in my life right now and watching these vlogs brings a smile to my lips and my ♥️ heart. Thank you, all of you!
This whole thing was fabulous, especially the singing at the end. I really got choked up when you were singing Gloria because my Mother became pregnant with me at Christmas time and named me Gloria Joy, She died when I was young, has been gone 50 years but I could almost hear the way she sang the song. And being in church and hearing either of my names and looking over at her smiling and nodding as if yes, that's for you. Thank you for this little bit of beauty in a crazy world.

When Selmar was in the workshop, leaning on the stick I thought he looked a bit like a shepherd. The nativity scene is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
My mum, for whom Christmas is so dear, has been feeling down lately, without her soulmate, my dad, and all the COVID restrictions on family visits, etc at her retirement community, and I think this will raise her spirits more than just a wee bit. The old carols heard and, as my dad used to say, the waterworks begin. This was so precious and the new crêche just perfect. Bravi tutti!!

Thank you for your beautiful shows. Although I must say you left me crying. It was very cathartic.... My mother died on Christmas morning three years ago. I have not cried until today.. Thank you all and I wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS..
Everything you do is done in such a beautiful and inspiring way. Selmar, the manger is wonderful. I think, adding a little hay or straw on its floor will really make the whole scene warm and come to life. Also, the singing is so serene, you all have wonderful voices. Your videos bring such a joy watching them. Stephanie, you are the heart of Lalande, without your cheerfuly, down to earth personality it would not be the same. And through you, everyone else around you comes to life and complete such a joyous and most entertaining team. Bravo and God's blessings to each and everyone of you. Merry Christmass !!! Love to All.
When you three were standing in the workshop looking at the nativity scene and Selmar was holding a long stick he actually looked like one of the shepherd's " watching his flock by night "
I can't tell you the swell of pride I have as a patron of the Chateau through Patreon. It's just a pittance, but I feel so deeply connected to Lalande. This is one of my favorite videos to date. During such horrific times, you all bring such joy and happiness to my life. Thank you. ❤️

What a wonderful idea for next years advent calendar! Since madrigal is Renaissance the first half of the vlog could be recipes that harken back to the that era with meal prep and dinner then second half madrigal singing in the chapel! And the ladies already have their gorgeous gowns from the lady and her company whose names I unfortunately don't remember.
Well done Selmar! Thank you so much for reminding us what Christmas is about. Sharing your Christmas spirit with the world while we are all in lockdown. You have been one of the best parts of staying at home!
This episode gave me goosebumps galore. So beautiful. I have an Italian Fontanini Creche set. My stepmother sent me the figurines over a period of 10 Christmases. They have been boxed for years, but now I live in a home large enough to display them and they are coming out today.
Just stunning. Selmar you are a wonder, there is no end to your talents. You have made a new chateau heirloom that will be treasured for years to come. Moments of fun , pleasure and emotion with the singing at the end. Bravo to you all💟💟
Such an impressive stable! Really harkens back to the loving, creative craftsmanship of yesteryear. Whenever I see some lovely antique piece, I always wonder what the creator was like, because there’s often so much intricate, interesting, superfluous beauty in it. Here we have the advantage of knowing Selmar and his gentle thoughtfulness! Gives some insight into what the craftsmen of yesteryear might have been like as they put their heart and personality into their work
selmar making the stable so reminded me of when my father built one for our xmas nativity scene..it made me a bit weepy lol it was beautiful..all the neighbours came and admired it..I remember being very proud of him at the time..Like Selmar he could build anything or at least give it a try..its lovely Selmar! Thank you so much. So lovely to see the nativity being story of Jesus birth being treated with such honour. I loved this episode. Merci bien
That last song sung was glorious!
I don't know if I'm PMSing or this one really got me. Selmar, you are so talented what a gift!
And to finish me off, the harmonising at the end made me cry
That was absolutely beautiful! You have lifted my spirits and reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas! Well done and Thank you!
The singing in the Chapel was so beautiful! Thank you.
That manger is stunning! I see selmar added the cherub angels on the front. Perfection!! I got a little teary when I saw it lit up. What a masterful artist Selmar is.
So beautiful I had tears in my eyes. Selmar your Manger is stunning. Stephanie you have the voice of a angel 😇
Thank you for your beautiful shows.
Although I must say you left me crying. It was very cathartic.... My mother died on Christmas morning three years ago. I have not cried until today.. Thank you all and I wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS..
Oh Maryanne my heart hurts for you. May you find peace this year and have a Merry Christmas 🙏
Terri-Anne you are too sweet .
It is funny how emotions always seem to catch up to you.
Wishing you a Very Happy Holiday.
How beautiful that this Advent episode has started
bringing healing to your heart🤗
@@robinchurch5658 Thank you for caring. Have a Wonderful Holiday.
I‘m so sorry! 😔Thats just awful. I wish you peace and many fond memories of your beloved mother over the holidays. 💕🙏💕
Lovely! Loved the singing of the Christmas carols in the chapel. More please!
I knew both you Stephanie and Philip have beautiful voices but how Beautiful all three of you are amazing!!!! Thank you for doing that and sharing!!!
Thank you. ❤️
I've been feeling really isolated and lonely and your videos make me feel like I have a friend sending me a video message updating me on their life. Thank you!
absolutely beautiful...selma admiring his work after being placed in the chapel and the 3 beautiful angels singing at the end made me cry...so so moving...thank you La Landers ❤️😘👏🏼🙏🏼
Oh Selmar! What a beautiful creation!
Selmar that creche made me cry - reminded me of my Dad and his talents whenever we wanted something created from scratch! Amazingly beautiful!
In the future, when COVID isn’t an issue would love to see a madrigal dinner
Oooooh! Yes, please!! I volunteer to sing and cook.
I loved how well the Nativity came out, along with the beautiful singing. Wonderfully gorgeous.
This episode gave me goosebumps galore. So beautiful. I have an Italian Fontanini Creche set. My stepmother sent me the figurines over a period of 10 Christmases. They have been boxed for years, but now I live in a home large enough to display them and they are coming out today.
Oh Selmar your work is absolutely beautiful..so well done
Today was a rough day, this made me smile with happiness, thank you. The nativity scene is exquisite, well done Selmar.
Just stunning. Selmar you are a wonder, there is no end to your talents. You have made a new chateau heirloom that will be treasured for years to come. Moments of fun , pleasure and emotion with the singing at the end. Bravo to you all💟💟
laugh, enjoy, touched, I look forward to these beautiful vlogs every day
The chapel is so beautiful with the crèche and the candles and the music!
Gives some insight into what the craftsmen of yesteryear might have been like as they put their heart and personality into their work
So wonderful. Made me a bit reflective and melancholy for my Christmas of past.
Love to all and peace on earth.
selmar making the stable so reminded me of when my father built one for our xmas nativity scene..it made me a bit weepy lol it was beautiful..all the neighbours came and admired it..I remember being very proud of him at the time..Like Selmar he could build anything or at least give it a try..its lovely Selmar! Gosh Stephanie your grandmother was beautiful..I can see where you get your beauty from..the singing was touching too..What a magical place Lalande is ! Love to you all!xxx
Oh that was just the thing to remind us the reason for the holiday. Selmar the crèche was so perfect and all of the nativity was so perfect. The harmony of Stephanie, Kat and Phillip was very emotional. Thank you for a lovely vlog. Merry Christmas.
I so enjoy living the Chateau life vicariously through your diaries yet have never left a comment. I had wanted to visit this year then well, the situation, so hopefully next year. This episode was so moving. The Creche that Selmar made is rustic and gorgeous (totally my style) and the figures from Naples just lovely. I have not had a Nativity in my home for years and this makes me want to create one. Stephanie, Cat and Phillip singing in the beautiful Chapel brought tears to my eyes. Thank you!
