Hi guys!!! I hope your New Year is off to a wonderful start. ❤️ Thinking of creating a Veganuary series for people interested in going more plant-based! Any requests for video topics?
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen I'd love to see something along the lines of vegan for beginners like where you shop, eating vegan on a diet, easy recipes to get started with the vegan change, staples in your pantry and fridge. Please and thank you 💕
When I went vegan, the biggest hurdle was cheese, creative ways to add protein into meals, and meal planning. I also needed a bunch of easy recipes under my belt for busy work weeks...and substitutions for meat/dairy/eggs.
I would love love love this series as I’m brand new :) 3 days into being vegan so any tips, recipes broken down into breakfast, lunch, and dinner segments maybe, and necessities to always have in your kitchen, etc would be wonderful for me. ❤️
I'd love to see Vegan makeup and body care tips - like what is the best vegan body lotion? what is your favorite brand of vegan mascara? Stuff like that :)
This year marks 10 years of being vegetarian for me!! So...I figure it's time to take the plunge and go vegan. No more (cheese based) excuses!! Always love your videos, and also your Princess Mononoke shirt 💖!! Happy new year :)
After 8 years of being a vegetarian, I'm fully going vegan! I've been slowly transitioning for the last few months but I'm now finally cutting out all animal products!
That's amazing!! You've already done so much good for the earth and animals by being vegetarian for so long. :) Glad that you're taking the extra step now!
I feel ya! I was in that boat for years too. I always knew I'd go vegan one day but I struggled a lot with giving up eggs. Wishing you the best of luck this year! Take your time and be kinda to yourself along the journey. :)
I've been vegetarian for a while and have always (since becoming veg) eaten about 50% vegan, and am looking forward this year to eating vegan about 75% or more of the time!
I always love seeing new videos from you! They all look so delicious and easy to make. Today I made the "carrot lox" and I can't wait to try it! I have been vegan for over 4 years now and I want to get more varieties of my standard recipes this year and your channel is always a good way to get new great inspirations :)
That tortilla soup has me salivating so hard. I definitely need to make that as soon as possible! I love the idea of pureeing part of the soup, I’ve never thought to do that!
Wow that frittata looks so delicious, I’m definitely making this. Thank you @sarah’s vegan kitchen. Keep up the great videos. You are one of my inspirations for going vegan. 👌🏼
I can't believe i never thought of topping avocado with sriracha. I want to love avocados so bad but i have such a hard time eating them unless it's guacamole. I just uploaded my what i eat in a day video as well, and did not hold back. I know that my diet was terrible but i'm working on it! Watching all of these gives me so much inspiration for new healthier meals!
I didn’t start because of the new year. I started a little less than a year ago actually. Everyday I try to make a small change in my diet. Small progress is better then none... I try to make one meal a day a vegan meal. I’m ready to start making it two soon. I have tried to go veggie/vegan before, but was unsuccessful because the change was too much too soon. Your videos are what urge me to keep going. They inspire me to eat yummy and not be afraid of change. Oh, and my puppies love watching your videos too.
I read all USA white sugar uses cow bones in the process of clarifying it as well as this candy sticks have most of them a natural red color out of insects (carmín reds)
Thanks so much :) youtubers like you make veganism seem so fun, easy, and fulfilling. Thanks for doing what you do and encouraging people like me to make the switch!
I've found you and then I lost you and now I found you again. I love many of the vegan people who have UA-cam channels...but, YOU Sarah have the greatest amount of wonderful recipes and vegan food ideas out of the entire tribe!!!
Im now Over 2 Years Vegeterian and on my way to Vegan i only eat the things thats are in my kitchen that contains animal products because i dont wanna waste them then im fully Vegan :D
That’s awesome! I did the same before I went vegan. I just finished off the non vegan items I had in the fridge and only bought vegan products from there on out 😊
Found your channel yesterday and binge-watched tons of your videos! I’ve been leaning plant-based for a few years now, so I’m always looking for new sources and I LOVE your channel! Not sure how I didn’t find you sooner. Your mom and sister seem super supportive, but do you have any tips for eating plant-based with omnivorous family/friends (like during the recent holidays)? I live in Alabama, so people are confused if you don’t eat meat every meal and probably aren’t quite sure what veganism really is. Luckily my coworkers don’t ask anymore when I order my “weird” food if we go out to eat.
So glad you're enjoying the channel. :) I do feel super lucky that my family is supportive, even if they don't really understand my reasons for going. When I go to parties I usually will bring something -- a dish to share with others, and sometimes an additional small snack for myself just in case there aren't other options. If I go out to eat with friends at a restaurant without many options, I'll usually just stick to ordering basic sides like baked potatoes or steamed veggies. (It's not ideal, of course, but it gets me by and it's usually cheaper too. 😜) Half of my family is Filipino (huge meat-eating culture) and when they host barbecues, I usually just end up eating corn and salad or bringing my own vegan burger patties. My grandparents still don't really understand veganism so sometimes they'll offer me fish or cheese (meaning well, of course) and I'll usually just tell them it doesn't make me feel good to eat it, so that there's no argument.
Thanks for the advice! I love that you're active in your comment section. And thanks for the tip about White Cheddar Skinny Pop at Sprouts - snacking on some now :)
I slowly started the vegan lifestyle in November of 2017, but for this year, I'm going to use all my new energy to be more productive with better habits :) thank you for keeping it awesome in your videos!
Good on you! I know the holidays are a difficult time to go vegan because so many family traditions are centered around non-vegan food. So I really really admire you for doing that!
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen I appreciate your comment. I'm half Greek so it was difficult for that's side of the family to understand. What I tell myself, for someone working 60hours a week, is that food is fuel and it's that simple. So why not fill it with awesome foods! :)
I really appreciate your videos, my #1 difficulty transitioning to a vegan diet is figuring out what to eat now that I'm not having animal product based meals and I want to eat healthier at the same time. I literally have been eating spaghetti, burritos, kimchi, and jicama spring rolls every meal for like a month.
Decided to go vegan after one year of being a vegetarian. January 1st was my first day of being vegan. So glad I started this journey to become plant based.
I've been a vegetarian for 8-9 years and turned vegan a few months ago. So 2018 will be my first year going fully plant-based 😊 Oh and the tofu quiche looks soooo yummie! Definitely going to try it on the weekend!
Hope to slowly transition to a vegan diet this year. Issue is I have difficulty digesting beans and veggies. I've tried to go more plant based in the past but give up because the GI discomfort is so bad. Any tips on how to better transition?
Your videos have helped me so much on my transition to a plant based diet🌱. I have tried a couple of recipes and they have been a success 💃. I love forward to trying many more.
Happy New Year! I bought coconut wraps from Thrive Market and loved them but wanted to make my own wraps so I made Navajo fry bread. I also love this bread but it was too heavy and not a wrap, (I thought I could roll it out really thin). Anyway, thank you and much peace!
i love quick 5 minute meals that i can just throw together for lunch like the lentil dish you made. for sure trying that, and the tortilla soup cuz it looks bomb. :) love your recipes!
Thanks so much! And yep, the 5 minutes meals are my fave! They save so much time and then I can pour all my energy into cooking 1 good meal later than day instead of being burned out on cooking and washing dishes.
One of my resolutions is to start going vegan! I’ve been vegetarian for about ten years and was ready for the next step. Thanks for all your amazing recipes that make it easier 😊
My friend and i are going vegan for January but im pretty sure we‘re both going to just keep going after this month! Ive been a vegetarian for almost two years now and im so excited to be finally making the transition. Your videos have definitely inspired me to do so and im so thankful!! Happy new year btw!
Sarah!, I want to write that because of health reasons I need to go more Plant-based in my life, and your videos have been a huge help (In the sense that they are relaxing AF and that I've learned so much)...so thank you and have a lovely 2018!!
I'm already vegan but I'm trying to eat better and more simply than I have in the past. Seeing the quiche makes me want to make it for lunch next week!
I’m so excited aldi ( grocery store) here in Chicago will launch their vegan line. I’m super excited. Please do a taste test of the items if u have one in your area. Waiting for your air fryer series.
So 2018 is here and i'm currently ready The China Study and watched Pure Plant Nation which has brought me here. I am trying to have a more plant base diet which is a 180 turn for me. I live in Texas and literally bbq and smoke meat all year long up until this past month or so. Looking forward to seeing how this change helps me in my life!
Happy New Year Sarah!! Seriously, your food is head and shoulders above pretty well any other vegan youtuber/recipe person out there that I have seen (and trust me, I have watched a LOT of vegan you tubers in my day... ;) ) You have such a skill. Your attention to detail and your clear food knowledge mixed with your passion and innate talent shines through. You have a gift! My husband is literally begging me to make your quiche recipe for him and I am so excited to oblige! Also, I am so with you, if you are not eating your sauerkraut/kimchee straight from the jar, several times a day then with your meal, I'm not sure what kind of super human self control you have and also I am not sure we can be friends.
At the hospital with my stepdad that just had a heart attack. Showing him some of your videos about healthy meals and meat alternatives. Trying to get him to go vegan. At least he’s open to trying a few recipes! Thank you!
I'm so glad your stepdad is doing okay! Sending lots of love and wishes for a speedy recovery. But it's good that this experience is helping him to prioritize his health. :) And you're awesome for being supportive and willing to guide him through some healthy changes.
This is so inspiring! I was trying to be vegan since 2016. Got stressed out because of the fear of not doing it right. I recently discovered that Im watching the wrong people lol. But I am not giving up! Your videos are so helpful and your recipes are so easy, plus you are so cool! My motivation right now: I dont want to cause anymore suffering to other sentient beings. I live here in the philippines and I notice vegan products are accessible now! The sad part though is they are super expensive, but Im gonna stick to what I can afford at the moment. Keep it up Sarah! I love you even though Im a stranger.
I really like your recipes, especially the high protein ones. I've been trying to cut back on meat and dairy and these recipes are really good alternatives!
Yeah I'm definitely looking to cut out meat as much as I can this year. Last year I made the change to only cooking vegetarian at home when I make food, but when it came to eating out then I was not as controlled. I look forward to this year :3
Do you think the jackfruit would be a good option in a vegan "chicken" noodle soup too? I have so many friends who could use some right now during flu season, and I was trying to think of a good alternative. You're inspiring me, Sarah!
I am really loving those recipes you are making, it is allways something different and not tipically vegan 😄 and I absolutely love savory dishes and breakfast you are making 😃 good job!
Uuuuh, this is like the best recipe video because these are the flavors I also personally enjoy every day!!!!! Yes!!! Peppermint chocolate as the finisher?! YES!!!! Lol
wow that breakfast recipe looked soooo good!!! i'm also looking to be more plant based this year. my sister and i are doing raw vegan this month as a challenge(go hard or go home lol). so far so good. but once february rolls around i will do cooked vegan. will definitely have my dad try these recipes! he's vegan so me doing this will make him so happy.
I'm making the vegan frittata tonight with artichoke hearts, olives and tomato. I had to add a little water to my batter as it wasn't pourable and processed into a lump :)
Hi Sarah, Happy New Year! Just want to ask a question about your baked tortilla strips. I use Trader Joe’s corn tortillas and when I bake them they get a little hard to chew as I don’t use any oil. Yours looked so crispy. How do you make yours! Thanks
Ooh girl, always good recipes to refer to!!,me and my girls are just trying to be more mindful of what we put in our bodies, and our next adventure will be tofu,so your 1st recipe will surely be used!!,thanks for all the inspiration and happy new year! ♡
I am lacto-vegetarian. I really want to try the quiche but we don't get nutritional yeast anywhere here. What can it be replaced with and in what quantity to get similar results? Thanks!
I'm really into fermenting foods lately and I read it's terrible to eat straight out of the jar like that because the bacteria just from dipping the fork will spread rapidly and decrease the life severely! But I guess it's fine if you eat it all quickly?
I was just thinking about that yesterday! I do usually finish the jar within 5-6 days. But probably when I start making my own bigger batches of fermented foods, I'll make sure to take out smaller portions.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING IN THAT VEGAN FRITTATA. I have a question though. Can you sub any other flours for the chickpea flour? I'd like to make this this week but I can't get chickpea flour for a while. Thanks again!
My 2017 new year resolution was to have one meal a day vegan, and that has been breakfast since it was easiest for me. This year, I’d like to go for two meals vegan, but I have a cafeteria in school that does not sell vegetarian nor vegan food. I would really appreciate it if my vegan friends here could give me tips on school lunch, thank you in advance!
Sarah, I love all your videos!! And your recipes are bomb! Love itt On a side note: how does squarespace sponsors your videos? Don't know if you can talk about details here, tho... I was just wondering, because I can see how Thrive sponsors food videos, but not squarespace =O is it through the blog? Anyways, sorry if that's a bit intrusive, I was just curious ^^
Hey thanks so much! And that's a great question. Sponsorships vary depending on the brand, but in this case Squarespace paid me to share how I use their platform to build my site! And of course most of the recipes I share are now available to read and print on that site. I was already a paying member of Squarespace before they approached me for this partnership so it worked out great. :)
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen oh I see! That's awesome! I've been following you for a while now, I really love your content!! Also, thanks for carefully replying me :) If one day I go to the US, hope to meet you! Love from Brazil
I’m not a new vegan, but I LOVE your videos. I think your food is visually appealing and it’s helped me get friends on board this awesome life style because they always assume I only eat rice tofu and beans haha. Cooking vegan is fun and delicious!
Sarah, any advice for dealing with some of the backlash with negative vegan stereotypes? I know it's easy to say things like "just don't associate with those people" or "who cares what anyone else thinks?", but when you have to be around these people on a daily basis (work/life long friends) it makes it a bit difficult. They had 1 experience with 1 "bad apple" and it has forever influenced how they view vegans: "They were so mean", "so uptight", "looked sick/too skinny", "tried to make me feel guilty for eating meat", etc.
Thanks for the inspiration! Hoping to open a vegan restaurant and I'm taking all the inspiration I can get. Still finding it hard to make Vegan Sausages and burgers. Any tips?
I just made your jackfruit "chicken" tortilla soup and it tastes amazing! I have a bowl sitting right in front of me (my second serving) and I'm waiting for it to cool down a bit cause I burnt my tongue while I was digging into the first bowl. Thank you for this awesome recipe, Sarah!
I’ve been vegan for 6 months! Lost 20lbs so far but I’m trying to be more plant based now;) I definitely need to loose 80 lbs more to be in a regular BMI. On my way! Thank you for all The great recipes!
Love your recipes, and thanks for listing all your products, I was literally just thinking I wonder where I can get a silicon mat to stop wasting baking parchment 👍
Hi Sarah, I wonder if what do I have to do to start a network or utube? should I have to think of a name first, how to design before getting into the first 14 days trial? or what is it, i'm afraid. thank you
Gratuitous pig mug cameo-check. Adorable new hairstyle and t-shirt- check. Insanely creative recipes - check. Tahini and avocado for those healthy, healthy fats- check. This video had everything I ever wanted and it was sponsored so I know you're making bank even if youtube tries to screw you. Happy New Year's Sarah. My New Years Resolution is always to lose weight and I never do so this year I just said fuck it. Instead I'm going to try and learn to play the ukulele, learn to speak French, and make and consume a lot of soup (I've been really obsessed with soup lately especially pho and ramen). Viet Vegan has a pho recipe I want to try out and there's a vegan ramen recipe in the cookbook V Street.
I’m on the boattt i fell off about 6 months ago. I gotta get myself together it took a long time to decide and now it’s in motion. My pantry is empty and ready to be filled with new things. That soup made me so hungry anything Mexican inspired makes me hungry lmao. Happy new year Sarah!
I went to Taiwan December last year and tried a meat substitute called Monkey Head Mushroom. Those stuff are crazy good! They are sooo meaty and chunky...and I wonder why it is not as so hyped as jackfruit. I’d say those are more legit as meat compared to jackfruit. Or maybe I am just biased since jackfruit recipes can be a hit or miss.
I wish you, a most wonderful, joy filled and wondrously positive adventurous New Year!!! Because of your amazing and thoughtful videos. They have greatly helped me convince two of my friends to give veganism a shot and commit for 6 months. Then we will cross that bridge, when we get there and hopefully they will continue this journey. Immense gratitude, for all your hard work and dedication! You are fondly admired and are a joy to watch and learn from in your videos. Again, wishing you, all the very best and to continued growth and positivity in all aspects of your life. Blessings and Serenity
I've had my fair share of mushy frittatas as well. The chickpea flour seems to really help bind things together here! It's even better the next day -- it gets a little more firm in the fridge overnight. Thanks for the support! :)
I'm on the Daniel fast for the new year. 21 days of strict vegan foods with prayer. The food choices are so strict I had a brain fart and couldn't figure out what to eat. I've been watching a lot of your videos to get some ideas.
Happy 2018 Ms sriracha queen. I'm a new vegan about three months or so. You were one of my first I subscribed. Woohoo ding ding ding. I loved the idea on puree a portion to put back in the soup ✌ genius
Hi guys!!! I hope your New Year is off to a wonderful start. ❤️ Thinking of creating a Veganuary series for people interested in going more plant-based! Any requests for video topics?

In early 2017 I turned vegetarian, and my goal for this year is to turn fully plant based 😊
I love your novels even though I've never read them. They're big and heavy and full of big and heavy words.
Joseph Halpern my books are a reflection of my feels
This year marks 10 years of being vegetarian for me!! So...I figure it's time to take the plunge and go vegan. No more (cheese based) excuses!! Always love your videos, and also your Princess Mononoke shirt 💖!! Happy new year :)
Wow that lentil/frozen veggie bowl is such a good idea! I always have the hardest time coming up with simple meal ideas like that
I’m vegetarian, but love accumulating totally plant based recipes and eat vegan pretty often. Thank you so much for making awesome vids!
So glad you enjoy them! I was the same when I was vegetarian; I ate vegan pretty often, and gradually it stuck! :)
After 8 years of being a vegetarian, I'm fully going vegan! I've been slowly transitioning for the last few months but I'm now finally cutting out all animal products!

Excellent plan! It will make the process a lot more manageable too, to do it in stages. :)
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen Thank you 😊 You're right, it'll help me with the transition :)
Wow that frittata looks so delicious, I’m definitely making this. Thank you @sarah’s vegan kitchen. Keep up the great videos. You are one of my inspirations for going vegan. 👌🏼

Jackfruit is the bomb. I never thought to use it in soup like that.
Right?! I love jackfruit so much! Borderline addicted.
My resolution is to get creative and try new dishes.
Your channel helps ALOT! Thanks mom x
I slowly started the vegan lifestyle in November of 2017, but for this year, I'm going to use all my new energy to be more productive with better habits :) thank you for keeping it awesome in your videos!

hey would you do a video on how you keep your frozen veggies? How and for how long? and what you do when you make big batched of stuff. Thanks!
Decided to go vegan after one year of being a vegetarian. January 1st was my first day of being vegan. So glad I started this journey to become plant based.

Your videos have helped me so much on my transition to a plant based diet🌱. I have tried a couple of recipes and they have been a success 💃. I love forward to trying many more.
Girl, I gotta make that quiche!
I've been vegetarian since June 2017 but I try to eat vegan as much as I can. I love your videos...so inspirational :)

I've been so curious about those coconut wraps! I will have to order them next time!!
I’ve been vegetarian for about 15 years, but I try to eat a mostly plant based diet. Thank you so much for your videos!
Me!!! Slowly cancelling out dairy and eggs after being vegetarian for two years.
John Doe IM SO PROUD OF YOU💜
I love it! Congrats on taking the leap!
Awesome! You totally got this!!
great to hear ^^
Happy New Year! I plan to eat more plant-based meals this year but I don't have any questions at this time.

I finally made the jump from vegetarian to vegan this week. Looking forward to trying a lot of your recipes.

That is awesome and brave of you! Good luck!
Made the tortilla soup last week. Delicious! I have also been obsessed with jackfruit lately. Can’t beat it!
I really need to make those brownies! They look AMAZING
You could also thicken soup with a bit of masa harina. Gives a nice corn flavor too.
I’m 10 days in eating vegan. So far so good. I love your recipes.
Totally! Although I will say my favorite faux chicken are the grilled strips by Beyond Meat.
And you are such an awesome thoughtful friend to think of making them soup! ❤️
Thanks! I'm definitely going to try the Beyond strips too!
I am really loving those recipes you are making, it is allways something different and not tipically vegan 😄 and I absolutely love savory dishes and breakfast you are making 😃 good job!
Thank you!!! I am such a fan of savory foods over sweet ones, so I'm glad you like the savory options! :)
Uuuuh, this is like the best recipe video because these are the flavors I also personally enjoy every day!!!!! Yes!!! Peppermint chocolate as the finisher?! YES!!!! Lol
i am in the vegan transition boat. i told my family on christmas and they were very understanding
Just tried the brownies 👌🏾 I’ll let you know how they taste after they cool down
That tahini sauce is brilliant!
gracias :)
wow that breakfast recipe looked soooo good!!! i'm also looking to be more plant based this year. my sister and i are doing raw vegan this month as a challenge(go hard or go home lol). so far so good. but once february rolls around i will do cooked vegan. will definitely have my dad try these recipes! he's vegan so me doing this will make him so happy.
Thanks
That soup looks amazing!
Will have been vegan 2 years next month. If any of you ladies post menopause would like some tips, I’d love to help.
Made my first batch of saitan thanks to you
Yay!
Ooh girl, always good recipes to refer to!!,me and my girls are just trying to be more mindful of what we put in our bodies, and our next adventure will be tofu,so your 1st recipe will surely be used!!,thanks for all the inspiration and happy new year! ♡
Happy new year to you too! :) That is so awesome that you're prioritizing your health in the new year.
I'm defiantly going to try the quiche!
Love itt
On a side note: how does squarespace sponsors your videos?
Also, thanks for carefully replying me :)
If one day I go to the US, hope to meet you! Love from Brazil
I’m not a new vegan, but I LOVE your videos. I think your food is visually appealing and it’s helped me get friends on board this awesome life style because they always assume I only eat rice tofu and beans haha. Cooking vegan is fun and delicious!
Happy New Year Sarah! Everything looks delicious, as always
I am going to make all these recipes! The frittata and the chicken tortilla soup are genius!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Hoping to open a vegan restaurant and I'm taking all the inspiration I can get.
Still finding it hard to make Vegan Sausages and burgers. Any tips?
What a neat idea to use jackfruit as chicken in the tortilla soup. I want to try that! Also...that brownie batter 😍
That vegan frittata!!! 😱😱😱 Praise the LORD! Can’t wait to try it, thank you!
Hope you enjoy it! :)
Omg so glad you enjoyed it! :)
I’ve been vegan for 6 months! Lost 20lbs so far but I’m trying to be more plant based now;) I definitely need to loose 80 lbs more to be in a regular BMI. On my way! Thank you for all
The great recipes!
I need to try that fake egg bake thing, looks soooo good!!
Just made the quiche, can't wait to try it.
Happy New Year! Isn't the feeling of an empty pantry/fridge so liberating? So much room for new choices! Wishing you the best of luck this year.
You got this 👌🏼.
Holy shit, the idea of take a little bite of the soup and blitzing it to add back in to make the soup seem creamier is AWESOME snaps for sarah
OMG these look so good!!!!!! And they were so simple. I'm definitely trying the fritata.
Became vegetarian in 2017 I appreciate your recipes and videos !
I️ can never seem to get vegan frittatas right! I️ will definitely be trying these recipes out, they all look delicious!
I've had my fair share of mushy frittatas as well. The chickpea flour seems to really help bind things together here! It's even better the next day -- it gets a little more firm in the fridge overnight. Thanks for the support! :)
Damn that fritatta looks amazing! I am trying to go vegan again this year. Happy new years 💓
Good luck! :)
Taylor McDonald 😊 Me too! Goodluck to us!
The frittata looks amazing! So creamy and flavorful ❤️ also love that Sriracha went on almost everything!
I'm on the Daniel fast for the new year. 21 days of strict vegan foods with prayer. The food choices are so strict I had a brain fart and couldn't figure out what to eat. I've been watching a lot of your videos to get some ideas.
Trying a plant based diet for the new year!!! Anyone have any tips?
Happy 2018 Ms sriracha queen. I'm a new vegan about three months or so. You were one of my first I subscribed. Woohoo ding ding ding. I loved the idea on puree a portion to put back in the soup ✌ genius
Your sriracha use is my new year's resolution. I never think about it as a condiment until afterward. Lol
Haha now it's just my default to put it on things.
