Thanks to the greatest mastermind who ever lived in neurology, Sigmund Freud, we know that dreams are inspired by the sub-conscious mind. The Fourth Century Roman Emperor, Constantine, apparently thought the gods inspired his dreams. The dream he had about the cross before the battle he was favored to win was actually his sub-conscious telling him Rome was ready for a religion that favored the poor. Thus, in his political effort to unify Rome under one religion, and to provide affirmative action, he chose Christianity, a decision that wasn’t based on evidence at all, as the scientific method didn’t even exist yet. Might I add, he changed the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, the day that honored the sun god, Sol Invictus, out of convenience in the process. I doubt he ever imagined it would turn out to be such a big hit in Western societies. To think, if the great mind of Freud had existed two millennia earlier we could have avoided 2,000 years of superstition, religious discrimination, crusades, imperialism, witch trials, and unwarranted executions for heresy. What a shame.

Great movie suggestion. Will get it. And for the old dear Sigmund, RIP. You have deceived many, including yourself. On an epic scale. But RIP, nevertheless.

Well you got the rest part right. As an atheist Freud knew he’d be resting after death, and not walking on some magic cloud, or roasting in a furnace somewhere. As far as your slanderous comments about deceit, you haven’t explained them at all. If you’re going to defame someone you might want to be a little more specific with your obvious defamation.

This movie is proof that Hopkins never stopped being an atheist at heart. Sure, he used religion as a placebo effect to stay off alcohol. AA, drug rehab centers, and romantic partners convert some free thinkers, true, but logic never does, which is one of many reasons why far more people today are weaning themselves from religion rather than turning to it. People are oftentimes brain washed into thinking they need it when they really don’t. Despite the average reviews this movie received I thought it was fantastic.

Be little more careful when taking on a religion, bro. People are weaning nowadays themselves from religion? Hahaha. Is it not the other way around? God (in whatever edition, except perhaps the highly deformed picture which Moslems have about Him) gives us always freedom. We can go away. Don't you think it is a case extreme generosity? Celebrate this freedom. Enjoy His generosity and as long as you are keeping in your Mind and Heart, that our landscape extends only upto Styx.

@@paulfaigl8329 I’m not afraid to speak the truth. It’s you who should be more careful with your replies. Discrimination, for one thing, like your statement about Muslims, is one of many reasons I support the free thinking movement. You are not better than Muslims, or anyone else because of a minority religion you’re indoctrinated into. I’ve been to Egypt. Muslims are very moral, good people. They praise Allah way more than the average rich, spoiled Christian American praises Jesus. And I’m not your bro. I’m not your father, your neighbor, or even your acquaintance. I’m your total stranger, and if you pretend we’re family again I’ll report it. Yes, more people are leaving religion today than turning to it. According to Pew Research nones in America are up to 28 percent of the population now. That’s up from just five percent in 1972. They’re now larger than any Christian denomination. Do a little research before you attack someone’s comment. And before you tell me what the Hebrew god is all about you have to prove the Hebrew god exists. The last I checked there isn’t a shred of credible evidence for any magic fairies from ancient mythology hiding up in space. If there was it would be the biggest News Story ever. You’re pushing propaganda stranger. The truth comes from science. For one to embrace science unconditionally, and wean oneself from the magic and fairytale stories from ancient mythology associated with most religions, is to accept a belief system that can not only expedite progress and positive technological advancements, but to help unify the world. Let science into your brain stranger. It’s the only thing we know is real that truly liberates us.

@@paulfaigl8329 And when you look at the advancements over the past five hundred years, including life saving medicines and vaccines, and vastly increased life spans, it’s clear nothing has been more giving than science.
