Thanks for the tip! I'm planning to do this on my 2006 FJR. Looks pretty easy. For how long do you run the engine when you are flushing it. I see that you have bar risers on yours do yo like them, i bought som similar on Amazon, but i have not installed them jet. Is it worth the hassel?
Definitely worth it to install the risers. Let the temp come up to operating temp. 3/4 is what I let it go to.
@@darinparest Thanks for your reply, I've felt ever since I got my FJR that I have to sit a little forward bent to fit the bike if you understand and it hasn't felt quite right. Bought the handlebar risers but haven't gotten around to installing them, but now I definitely will! Thanks!
@@darinparest I've seen some comments that the risers help those who experience lower back soreness. However, my issue is that my hips/knees start getting sore, but no issue with my back. Curious if those risers helped for those areas, or was your issue in the lower back?
@@johntomasik1555 I think the risers helped with everything. I also had footpegs installed. These really helped with rider fatigue. Riding all day is definitely achievable with a few small adjustments. Thanks for your input. Cheers.
@@darinparest What footpegs did you get? I noticed that the rubber on my pegs moves a bit, and I can feel it when I put more weight on my feet. Good comment....I should look into this.
Also, thanks for the reply about the risers. I'll have to check those out.
Looks like you disconnected the lower hose for drain????? Thats cool if so and simple.
Did you put a bit of water through it with the garden hose to flush the system out??? Did you use any special anti free in it or just pre mixed prestone?? Looks simple
Thanks
Thanks for checking it out. Only use demineralized water and flush system until water is clear. DON'T mix antifreeze types...this can damage your engine. Use antifreeze that is used in Asian or Japanese engines. (Aluminum)
Thanks for the tip. I plan on doing this on my FJR this weekend.
Awesome. Be careful it can get pretty hot. Good luck.
