As someone who lives in a culture where family and helping out your relatives is essential to life, this pack really makes me feel so soft and emotional. This is exactly what was missing from my family gameplay!
Don't forget that kid sims can have high, normal, or low self esteem that can affect them for their entire lives onward! This is gonna be so fun to play if its not buggy
@@caoimhedoesstuff9293 In real life though, if an infant and it's parent(s) don't function on the same "wavelength" and fail to form attatchment, that can and usually does lead to later trauma, often throughout childhood! (Paraphrasing my therapist here)

Literally one of the things I'm most excited about is the idea of family coming to stay at your house. Like there is finally a reason to have a guest room in the sims! Guests!
I was thinking about how Not-So-Berry specifies Rose and Yellow have a distant relationship and Yellow's only friend is their grandparent, and I think there's another specified relationship too.
Also some things to mention that Kayla didn't include: The newborn babies also have a variety of new clothing options. In CAS you can also select whether a Sim produces milk or not (if they can breastfeed or not). There are also two mobile options for the cribs - birds (that was shown) and a space themed one. Romance was a conversation topic for adults (unsure from which age group - teens to elders?)
literally. i’ve got 2 sims and i’ve maxed most of their skills and completed most aspirations in 2 weeks. they’ve both maxed 2 jobs as well. i need a new challenge
In the family I’m playing at the moment, there’s no step-mum icon in the relationship bio, even though they’re married, and she keeps trying to flirt with the oldest daughter😵💫
@@beepisbean6130Yea…I have difficulties with cousins flirting with each other because they don’t have a family relationship. I really want an updated family tree.
@@Kate09090I understand some people want the drama but my loyal Sim autonomously flirted with his sister in law and now he gets random moodlets for guilt a lot.
I'm so glad that it will finally make sense to have a guest room! I love them because I think its realistic to have one in a nice house but it never really had a purpose in the sims (until you moved grandma in) but I'm so glad we can have visitors stay temporarily :)
Agreed, but people's misconceptions about children really do come out clearly on what they believe it to be. It's so funny hearing people talk about what they think they know and realise it was nothing but a misunderstanding and their whole idea of you is based on how you reacted to another person who was mistreating them, it's wild.
I love how much they added to the base game. The fact that there is so much without buying the pack is amazing and I really hope that when it comes out it is not bugged.
I’m kind of expecting bugs. But the stream gameplay ran REALLY smoothly, so I’m not expecting anything game-breaking to happen. But who knows. It’s a big patch, so we will just have to see. I’m excited about it regardless. 😄
Yes, I'm really hoping too that there won't be too dissapointing bugs, but all the gameplay they've shown just consists of base game and growing together. what then when all the packs are on play/combined.
The intense infant challenge, having one Sim with seven intense infants on one lot and trying to care for them until they age into toddlers, like the seven toddler challenge but worse😅
I absolutely loved how passionate the sim gurus who worked on this pack were! Especially Scott, he just seemed so genuinely enthusiastic about everything he talked about in the stream, and seemed really proud of their work. I think that’s a really good sign for this pack, that the people in charge of it, actually cares this much about it! 😄🥰
it was honestly quite sad. At times they were just plain rude to the sim gurus for no reason and at that point i dont get why they're even here. Like if they hate everything about the game and are shitting on everyone and everything whats the point of playing/watching??
The 100 Baby Challenge is going to be a lot harder if you can't spam a bunch of friendly and romantic interactions anymore if compatibility comes into play lol
@@mikasaackerman6224 You need to have a good relationship with them to do science babies, and compatibility is platonic so will impact. Still, there's always the photo spam option, lol.
I really wish they had a type of family photo feature so you can take a photo of all your sims posed without having a sim behind the camera, but I really love all of the new trait and family features!
I have a handy cousin household who isn't allowed to die (Sometimes an Uncle Utility) who's only function is to be invited to family gatherigs. That way, before the event, I can switch to their household and do this similar to this, taking family photos at the event, and gift them to the family members.
OMG I just cannot wait. Just hearing you talk about the new infant stuff brought back so many lovely memories of my children's infanthood, it was killing me. For instance, the first time my daughter was stable enough to sit in the high chair, her brother woke up and couldn't find her, expecting her to be lying around on a playmat or something. But then he saw her, and he was just 2 himself, so he said "Ya-ya in CHAIR?!" and cracked up laughing in joy at this new change in his baby sister, like it was the first time he saw her as a person. 😭 Just such a lovely memory for me. The new infant update is going to have me playing sims around the clock.
This actually made me tear up a little, that's so cute! I used to get baby fever really really bad for like months at a time after my niece, nephews, and cousins were no longer babies, since I'm not in a position to have any myself yet. Like, making baby-related pinterest boards the same way you'd make a wedding planning one. This was a couple of years ago. I was worried this update, the pack, and all the baby stories in the comments of all the videos could mess with my head again, but I'm just excited to raise digital infants until I can have my own 🥺
@@7337blackwolfIn stages I want to have a baby too but I still can't have them due to age, money and mental problems, that's why I love the family game and I'm going to love this update
Attachment is an actual thing in real life Simsie! Basically, the better you care for children in general, the more secure their attachment style. Insecure attachment styles are caused by childhood trauma and are more likely to negatively impact you later in life lol the fact they researched childhood development for this is kind of awesome!
I am not a mother but this update has sparked me to want to be a mother! I’ve had baby fever since they showed the full clip of the infants. They are so cute, kicked it into hyper drive!
I love the attachment feature that will actually be based on the parents' behaviour towards them - as someone who goes to therapy because of lack of such care from early childhood - if you convert it to sims it REALLY affects your personality "traits" and your ability to emote, it will be so realistic, I adore it
I think they mentioned that all life phases will also last longer ! So long is gonna be really long. Only the new born stage is going to be shorter. Probably just one day or something.
As someone who works in a nursery, I am so excited for this! It sounds so much more realistic to how young kids/toddlers/infants act, and I love the family dynamic thing! And more traits! I am so excited, I am not going to be able to resist buying this when it comes out.
I loooooove the "science baby" idea, I always want to include ace sims in my legacy but I feel weird making them woohoo to keep the generations coming. Seriously such an awesome addition
I love that you can have babies with friends too! Like, two gay sims can raise a kid together, or if your sim just really wants a baby, there's so much storytelling potential.
As an ACTUAL, real life, donor conceived person, the term "science baby" is already kind of dehumanizing as it is, since many of us in the community already feel reduced to a science experiment, or feel cold and clinical, and also, the baby part, even more of us feel the larger network of the fertility industry and recipient parents infantilize us, both with the language used (always calling us things like "donor baby", "IVF babies", "donor conceived children", even in government when legislation is drafted, it's usually about "donor conceived CHILDREN", and this attitude underlies the issues facing the donor conceived community. Many of us in the DC community feel unheard by our parents and the wider public, because often when we, adults (most donor conceived people are adults, which again is something that gets glossed over a lot, unless something terrible happens, all donor conceived babies WILL become donor conceived ADULTS, and we can never stop being donor conceived, and our method of conception always impacts us at some point in our lives, whether we are honest with our parents about it (not often, as I hear in the donor conceived-only spaces) or not). When we, adults, talk about the way being donor conceived and the laws and practices as they stand have been harmful to us and ways they could be improved to increase our well-being both as we grow and as adults for the rest of our lives, we're typically summarily dismissed as "just being angry", like we're just angsty teenagers, rather than adults even up through our 60s and 70s, many of whom have dealt with infertility ourselves and raised families ourselves, and, gosh, have even been LGBTQ or single mothers by choice ourselves. It's really frustrating to constantly be left out of the conversations about donor conception, especially when we are the only party involved in the industry that has no ability to consent or not to being part of the industry. Ave now to have the Sims make such an offensive term for donor conceived people canon to the game, in addition to consulting no donor conceived people about how the game mechanic should be handled and thus spreading the misconceptions about our experience and community (by not acknowledging it at all) which we're already working an uphill battle to spread awareness about, it's just upsetting.
And by the way, in case you're wondering, the ultimate, pie in the sky goal for the advocacy wing of our community is to advocate for known donors, because that's really the biggest issue we face, going with the implications of us being legally barred from relationships with our biological relatives because of other people's insecurities, that we're pretty much told that we SHOULDN'T be allowed to consider half of every single one of 10s of trillions of cells in our bodies as part of our identities and there's something wrong with us if we do. It shouldn't be the right of 3rd parties to determine how we feel about our biology and our identity, and we should be allowed to forge those relationships from the get go, because that shows our parents taking our future into account instead of treating us like we'll be children forever, because as we all know, it's easier to end a relationship in adulthood than it is to start one, especially these relational connections because there's often a sense of weirdness, and especially grief and guilt over lost time that has to be overcome, too. But right now we're pushing for realistic family limits so we don't end up with scores of siblings (not just because of accidental incest, though that too, but because of the emotional toll of not being allowed or even able to have relationships with that many people and the guilt involved at shutting somebody out through no fault of their own) and especially access to our biological parent's identity both for ongoing family medical history reasons and because of the aforementioned issues with allowing us the choice to acknowledge our biological identity and/or incorporate it into our sense of identity as we grow throughout our lives or not.
This really motivates me. I was totally down to wait for it to be discounted and buy it then. But this sounds so good; I'll get it as a reward for finishing a paper I am keeping postponing and procrastinating on. Once I wrote it, I am getting this. Pre-order and everything. My insentive is being set, wish me luck and fun on comparing and framworking over 700 year old manuscripts.
@@pilzkuh1387 Thanks for checking in! I'm one of those crunch time writers. I have two days left and have roughly half of what I need. The stuff I have I am very confident in and it is the harder part of the paper (groundwork on theories). Ivf mama to two here and it's made my heart happy that they've included "science babies" but i do wish they could still have pregnancy as an option for them too 💕 especially with the baby shower features etc x they're all part of the experience we waited so long for x

Yes, the new rec centre venue, i like coz seems like we can now make a multi-functional/multiplex community lot with more activities for sims in one lot.
i really hope this pairs well with high school years and even discover university, cause imagine the sims getting their first crush and first partners and then i think the compatibility stuff will definitely make exploring your sim's sexuality a lot more interesting esp when they're in uni. i also really like the idea of the center!! i love how there's a variety of things you can do at one lot, imagine siblings going into that lot and doing their own things for a while, then going home together. that would be so cute!!
18:48 this could also work for Sims with divorced parents, your Sims children stay at either the dads house, or the mom’s house for a whole week and weekend.
Milestones is so exciting to me i really hope its similar to the way the Sims 2 handled memories and stuff because being able to create stories like that has always been one of the big things ive missed from old sims games
I wonder if the stays featured works with kids of divorced parents. So they can live with their primary parents but have scheduled visitation with their other parents who wasn't given the primary custody. I feel like that would be insanely useful cause I won't have to constantly switch kids between households.
I'm hoping that I can send household sims to stay with another family, that it's not just an invite feature. Like in a legacy for example, sending the grandparents to go stay with my moved out siblings for the weekend. I'm not expecting it as I think they would have mentioned if it was two way, but it would be a cool addition.
@Dani Tho or have the kid spend a weekend with the parent they don't live with. I spent every other weekend with my dad growing up and keep trying to recreate that.
This definitely CAN be done. One of the mods I use does it. When you set child custody you can send the child off the lot to go stay with their other parent and the other parents comes and picks them up and takes them and you select how many days you want them gone and it actually removes them from the list of playable sims at the bottom. Or you can “call the other parent to come over for visitation”. If a mod can do it im sure sims/ea can do it. It’s just a question of will they.
I love the Science Baby feature! It sounds great for single parents by choice / solo parenthood and co-parenting. Lots more families that can be better represented or imagined now.
i love that you can put planters on the treehouse and garden up there! so awesome! so happy to finally see your builds! can't wait to see that last house. also excited to make my own rec center/see ones on the gallery from y'all!!
They didn't really talk much about the alligator other than that it's there. In fact, we didn't get to *see* the alligator, only see the bubbles it made. They didn't say if it could cause a death (the way the pond with sharks or piranhas does) but it did feel like they implied it. But that might have been just to tweak the Simmers who get excited about deaths in the game. You're not the only one who needed a bathroom break during that 2 1/2-hour Livestream. I was afraid to leave because I didn't want to miss anything. I did make it to the bathroom after it was over, thankfully! The next 10-13 days are going to be tough for Simmers to get through. Some of the folk on Twitter were saying that they didn't want to play until the EP comes out. I'm excited to play right now, so that I can think of some ideas of what I want to do once the EP does come out. It is going to be a learning curve, so I won't initially play with my Legacy family. I'll probably play with a brand new save (so that if there are glitches, I know it's the EP and not just a random problem. And it will initially be mod/CC free, for similar reasons. I do hope that the modders can get their content upgraded quickly!)
I love this because I so often get bored of the little things and having added details is amazing. Laundry Day and Bust the Dust are two packs I like because they add aspects of everyday life but I have a habit of having my family members barely interact. I'm excited to actually have purpose behind the family dynamics!
I love that they are adding milestones! I loved the memory feature in Sims 2 and really missed having it in the game. Can’t wait for this pack, it’s definitely going to be a must have for gameplay
This thing with newborn skin tones brings up a pet peeve of mine. Most people don't understand that skin color is a polygenetic trait. It's not just one or 2 genes like traits your learned about in school and used simple punnet squares to predict possible traits of offspring. With every baby, there are literally hundreds of possible skin tones no matter what the parents look like. Yes... babies are more likely to have skin tones like their parents percentagewise... BUT it is possible they will be darker or lighter than either of their parents. Too many times, I've heard a dad try to deny paternity based on the skin color... only to find out yes they are the dad. Because of this I was never really too bothered by the babies not always matching the parents in game... because that happens in real life as well.
@Silver Howl And skin coloration goes way past just a matter of simple dominance & recessive behavior of a few genes. There have been 378 genetic loci mapped in the human genome that determine skin color... and some of them involve incomplete dominance as well. So again, while babies are likely to have a skin color somewhere in the range of their parents... quite often, they are somewhat lighter or darker... and though more rarely, they can be MUCH darker or lighter than their parents. You simply can not determine parentage based on skin color. You CAN rule out parents with blood typing, ear lobe shapes, and some other genetic features that are only controlled by 1 or 2 genes but not skin color.
Valid, but when two super white, blonde or red haired Sims have a baby with a dark skin tone, or two black Sims have a baby with a white skin tone… it’s a bit jarring? Especially when the baby would then flip skin tone to the other end of the spectrum upon aging up to a toddler.
@@bookcat123 Jarring yes... but still possible. The flipping when they are a toddler though... yeah there really wasn't any viable scientific explanation for that which would fit a story.... except some temporary skin condition? *lol* Still it bothered me less than broken rocket kits you bought but couldn't build; plants that would never reach perfection or would simply reset to seeds for no reason; the completely broken wedding pack... Those all shouldn't have been left unfixed for so long and they impacted gameplay more than a baby with an off skin tone for a couple of days.
I'm SOOOOOOO excited for the update and new pack!!!!! ETA: I think I'm most excited for the way this is going to make sims and relationships feel unique. I always control my sims down to every little detail to really make things different, and I'm really excited to see how this changes that and takes out the extra work I was going through to make all of my sims and my saves feel different from each other.
I've always loved each step they take to make the game include more ways to portray your sims like the recent hearing aids and so forth. But I legit teared up at the Science Baby option. Its just such a real part of life for me and many of my friends that are either infertile or in a same-sex relationship.
I believe you can learn piano as a kid already, if you level up the creative skill, or whatever child skill is related to the skill. I had my child sim complete the creativity skill and then could learn the violin and signing skill.
That’s true before if you maxed the skill, you could learn piano however now you don’t need to max it but instead will gain both child skills and adult skills simultaneously! Only difference is you will learn child skills faster and adult ones slower :)
This pack is going to be a must have for me! I love that you can invite people to stay over. Also the fact that sims can evolve and change during their life!
I think that fro the infants and babies when they get those quirks it reminded me of the attachment theory but for children. Where I recently got my bachelor’s in psychology it basically its how they were raised and how close or not close they were to their parents and how that shapes people into their teen and adult years.
As someone that has an almost 3 month old right now as her second kid, this update is very exciting to me. How sim babies and toddlers and kidd are gonna all SO different with quirks and everything, it feels so true to how different babies are. I'm always noticing how different my actual babies are from eachother
The matching clothes i thought were super cute and then today my mom and i went to the mall and saw a little toddler with her mom both dressed in black tops and school type skirts with the same fabric it was the most adorable thing i have seen
I had hard time moving on from Sims 2 because of the milestones. It seems silly but for me it was such a big part of the game and I still miss it. The fact that they are bringing it back makes me so happy.
The infants and growing together are coming out NEXT WEEK! Up until yesterday, they had seemed so far away, but now they feel so close! Yesterday was the official ten-day count down for infants. ONLY 9 MORE DAYS FOR INFANTS AND 11 FOR GROWING TOGETHER! Next week is going to be so busy for me. 14th - infants. 15th nothing. 16th Growing together. 17th my birthday. 18th, visiting family. 19 My grandma's birthday. I"ve been sleeping in till noon and going to bed by ten P.M when I'm normally up at ten a.m. and stay up till about three in the morning, watching as much tv every day as possible. Ording stuff from amazon because a two-day wait for a hair brush takes my focus off the 9 day wait for the infants. I just got a new wii game, well it's a new copy of a harry potter game I LOVED when I was a teenager and was devastated when it broke. I spent four and a half hours playing it in one sitting on the day I got it. Haven't had time to play it since but I'm planning on it today as well as watching tv. Sims is usually my go-to time passer when I'm waiting for other stuff, but it only reminds me of the infants and expansion pack which makes it hard to play because now it feels like it's missing huge things, especially after I watched the two-hour live stream on Friday. I am in love with all the stuff we're getting for both the infants and for growing together.
If this pack works I would die because this is so in depth and detailed and so good, especially with the traits and inviting family over to help, I can't wait
@@Juv1qsx like how seasons is pretty vital to gameplay (with weather and holidays), they're saying that growing together will be really important for deeper ingame immersion

I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be optional, like the likes/dislikes. Like, you’ll get a little pop-up that asks if you wanna change it, and you can say yes or no.
This expansion sounds so awesome!! As a therapist, it sounds like they pulled a lot of inspiration from developmental and family psych, which is pretty exciting to see! Definitely gonna have to get this one
I think the things I'm most excited about are the family dynamics, compatibility, conversation topics, and milestones. Those things all fit into my game play style and I can't wait to have them. But pretty much everything in this pack and the infants update are exciting to me.
The attachment is actually based on a psychology theory made my Boulby. The babies even in real life create a attachment style based on the caregiver he have. it could be positive, negative, anxious and so on. Is so wonderful to see this in sims, because it can create a lot o differences in the relationship with the parents
The amount that's in the infant update surprised me as much as the werewolves pack. I was *not* expecting that level of detail! They didn't hold back, I'm excited!
Most exciting to me was the pack integration and the specificity of interactions and relationships depending on traits, age, lifestyles, social compatibility, etc
I can’t wait!! I’m sad they didn’t include teens, I mean they just had an EP about them, so I get it, but I was hoping we’d have a few little things for them still. There wasn’t a single teen sim in the livestream!
im pretty sure they are going to just get a fusion of the kids and adult interactions, with adult cas. I hope that there is a option to babysit and get paid.
I just pre-ordered Growing Together and then 5 mins later i saw this video. I was like what did i just do?! I don't even know what's in the pack, but now i can't wait for it to be released!!
Thank you so much for summarising all this, Kayla. I have a real toddler of my own so watching 2.5 hours of UA-cam is not going to happen any time soon. I feel like I know what the main features of the update and new pack will be!
i'm both SUPER excited for this pack + the update but also i'm a bit scared about it being super buggy. hopefully it runs relatively smoothly but after some of their last packs and updates...
I am really excited for the update and the pack. I really hope it all works as they have explained it. The only feature that I wish they would have incorporated into this is suggesting a aspiration based on your Sims traits. I am a big fan of just playing the story that the game presents and having to choose an aspiration always stresses me out lol I wish the game would suggest some or even add a randomizer button for aspiration.
I preordered the pack because I love having all the packs before I even knew what was happening, I'm so glad I did after watching this video I'm so excited there's going to be so much family game play and thats all I want. I love playing legacy challenges and this pack is going to add a lot more things to do with families.

Seriously though, the number of times I’m like … your gaining skill?!?! In what?!? Then I have to go to the Menü and look. This will be such a save
Look there are times where minimalist designs dont work, so Im happy to have that icon
I like how traits can change as a sim grows older, someone who was mean as a child might not be mean their entire life
Also some things to mention that Kayla didn't include:
The newborn babies also have a variety of new clothing options.
In CAS you can also select whether a Sim produces milk or not (if they can breastfeed or not).
There are also two mobile options for the cribs - birds (that was shown) and a space themed one.
Romance was a conversation topic for adults (unsure from which age group - teens to elders?)
it sounds like this pack is basically bringing an extra level of difficulty and im so here for it
literally. i’ve got 2 sims and i’ve maxed most of their skills and completed most aspirations in 2 weeks. they’ve both maxed 2 jobs as well. i need a new challenge
Family reunion gives me hope for an expanded upon family tree. I really hope they include step parent things, absolutely need that.
there are stepfathers
In the family I’m playing at the moment, there’s no step-mum icon in the relationship bio, even though they’re married, and she keeps trying to flirt with the oldest daughter😵💫
@@beepisbean6130Yea…I have difficulties with cousins flirting with each other because they don’t have a family relationship.

I'm so glad that it will finally make sense to have a guest room! I love them because I think its realistic to have one in a nice house but it never really had a purpose in the sims (until you moved grandma in) but I'm so glad we can have visitors stay temporarily :)
Yesss and I wonder if somehow we can do some type of airbnb gameplay, I know modders could figure it out probably
Holy crap, as a child therapist, I LOVE that they are including Attachment Theory play 🥳 this will bring education to so many in a really fun way 😊
I'm in education! As soon as I heard meantion of attachment my brain immediately went back to my child psych classes lol
Agreed, but people's misconceptions about children really do come out clearly on what they believe it to be. It's so funny hearing people talk about what they think they know and realise it was nothing but a misunderstanding and their whole idea of you is based on how you reacted to another person who was mistreating them, it's wild.

@@lilithnorth7062 that’s my license too ☺️
I love how much they added to the base game.
PlumBella would love this lmao
"Your sim has gained the insane trait."
Much worse aaaah
I cant wait 🙃 ill probably wait for sales soo imma buy it in like 2 years lmaoo 🤡

Then they all age up to wild toddlers, and you go right into the toddler challenge for the sequel
The second I saw the house they showed off I knew you build it. It’s the style you do all the time. In a good way.
Same. I only watched about 20 minutes of the stream but I saw that house and was like, “That’s a Simsie how for sure. “ lol

I swear you can can’t you ?
That’s what I was hoping for too. Honestly I’d like an entire photography overhaul

As an education major I'm literally SO excited for the attachment feature! Realistic childhood development!
The sims: You can't neglect kids.
Kayla: WHAT?! That's ridiculous.
Attachment is an actual thing in real life Simsie! Basically, the better you care for children in general, the more secure their attachment style. Insecure attachment styles are caused by childhood trauma and are more likely to negatively impact you later in life lol the fact they researched childhood development for this is kind of awesome!
I think she knows what attachment is, I think she was just confused as to how it worked with the way the Gurus described the system
This feels kinda reminiscent of sims 2 with the aspiration meter and how the kids grow up💖
Yes Simsie, there apparently is an Alligator in one of the ponds/lakes and they basically said “watch out & be careful” 😂
That'd be exciting if the pond gator is a new death possibility!
You can swim in one of the ponds so sounds like an interesting way to kill someone off. Maybe Bella Goth can have an 'accident' there
As a new mom this has resparked my want to play the Sims 😭😭 I’m so so excited
Me too! My son turns 1 next month and this is very exciting to me 🥰
Same!! I’m so excited to make my daughter 😂 fingers crossed that she’ll interact with the chickens!!

-Someone might have already suggested it, but I would looooove a “6 infants challenge” where you have one infant with each of the new traits
I love the attachment feature that will actually be based on the parents' behaviour towards them - as someone who goes to therapy because of lack of such care from early childhood - if you convert it to sims it REALLY affects your personality "traits" and your ability to emote, it will be so realistic, I adore it
I am SO excited for the infants and the ep. Counting down the days!
Long life span is now going to be amazing to play with.
Lots of asexual people don't mind or even enjoy sex so you don't need to feel weird about it
I love that you can have babies with friends too! Like, two gay sims can raise a kid together, or if your sim just really wants a baby, there's so much storytelling potential.
@@phoebewilson6711 thank you I was gonna say this because I'm ace and don't mind sex at all
As an ACTUAL, real life, donor conceived person, the term "science baby" is already kind of dehumanizing as it is, since many of us in the community already feel reduced to a science experiment, or feel cold and clinical, and also, the baby part, even more of us feel the larger network of the fertility industry and recipient parents infantilize us, both with the language used (always calling us things like "donor baby", "IVF babies", "donor conceived children", even in government when legislation is drafted, it's usually about "donor conceived CHILDREN", and this attitude underlies the issues facing the donor conceived community.
It genuinely makes me SO happy that they’re finally listening and adding all the things we loved about the previous games but making them better!!
This really motivates me. I was totally down to wait for it to be discounted and buy it then. But this sounds so good; I'll get it as a reward for finishing a paper I am keeping postponing and procrastinating on. Once I wrote it, I am getting this. Pre-order and everything. The rec centre is a venue I'd definitely consider putting in most worlds. It's ideal for multiple clubs to hang out together.
I’m actually really impressed with everything they’re presenting. I’m anxious to see how it actually functions once I get my hands on it.
I wonder if the stays featured works with kids of divorced parents. So they can live with their primary parents but have scheduled visitation with their other parents who wasn't given the primary custody. I feel like that would be insanely useful cause I won't have to constantly switch kids between households.
Whoa... Like, you can even invite one parent to stay and send the parent living there away on vacation
@Cierra B. As much as I really don't need more mods may I ask what mod and who made it in case the official game doesn't get it?
This is an insane addition to the sims 4. I’m so excited. Just hoping it’s done well
This just enhances gameplay a ton, even the huge new base game update. I can’t wait to get this pack.
Except the game itself doesn’t have recessive genes so it wouldn’t fit well…
@Silver Howl And skin coloration goes way past just a matter of simple dominance & recessive behavior of a few genes. You CAN rule out parents with blood typing, ear lobe shapes, and some other genetic features that are only controlled by 1 or 2 genes but not skin color.
yesss i think about this all the time
Valid, but when two super white, blonde or red haired Sims have a baby with a dark skin tone, or two black Sims have a baby with a white skin tone… it’s a bit jarring?
Your legacy save should definitely have a family reunion see all the past characters that are still living.

I‘m so excited for your Build videos for growing together!! 🤗
For real!
I've been missing it since the Sims 2
The feeling of scrolling through of all your elder sims memories.

just from doing psychology I know all about attachment theory and how it affects us all our lives so I love that they added that
The infants and growing together are coming out NEXT WEEK!

I think the things I'm most excited about are the family dynamics, compatibility, conversation topics, and milestones. Those things all fit into my game play style and I can't wait to have them. But pretty much everything in this pack and the infants update are exciting to me.
The sims out here providing free birth control with how realistic they are making these toddlers lol.
Grateful you made this! My kiddo is so excited, but doesn't have the patience to sit through the official livestream with me yet.
The attachment is actually based on a psychology theory made my Boulby. The babies even in real life create a attachment style based on the caregiver he have.
it could be positive, negative, anxious and so on. Is so wonderful to see this in sims, because it can create a lot o differences in the relationship with the parents
The fact that they added the attachment theory is going to be so fun for all the simmers that like to put their trauma in the game (me. It’s me)
The amount that's in the infant update surprised me as much as the werewolves pack. I was *not* expecting that level of detail! They didn't hold back, I'm excited!
Most exciting to me was the pack integration and the specificity of interactions and relationships depending on traits, age, lifestyles, social compatibility, etc
I'm soo glad they are adding the milestone thing. It's the one thing from the Sims 2 that I was really missing in the Sims 4
This pack is huge. I love that all sims are different and they can build more of a personality with this
I can’t wait!! I’m sad they didn’t include teens, I mean they just had an EP about them, so I get it, but I was hoping we’d have a few little things for them still. There wasn’t a single teen sim in the livestream!

Thank you so much for summarising all this, Kayla. I have a real toddler of my own so watching 2.5 hours of UA-cam is not going to happen any time soon. I feel like I know what the main features of the update and new pack will be!
Wow. I actually want to buy this expansion. It actually has interesting and different things.
considering how much simsie loves to add skill building rooms to her builds she was perfect for the rec center lol
Im not much in family gameplays, but I must admit this looks like worthy expansion to buy
i'm both SUPER excited for this pack + the update but also i'm a bit scared about it being super buggy. hopefully it runs relatively smoothly but after some of their last packs and updates...
I am really excited for the update and the pack. I really hope it all works as they have explained it. The only feature that I wish they would have incorporated into this is suggesting a aspiration based on your Sims traits. I am a big fan of just playing the story that the game presents and having to choose an aspiration always stresses me out lol I wish the game would suggest some or even add a randomizer button for aspiration.
i really do hope it will be as cool as it seems because I bought it on impulse
I preordered the pack because I love having all the packs before I even knew what was happening, I'm so glad I did after watching this video I'm so excited there's going to be so much family game play and thats all I want. I love playing legacy challenges and this pack is going to add a lot more things to do with families.
