Dead Can Dance are out of this world. The concerts I experienced were the best of my life. It's like they connect you to higher powers. Thank you for this reaction!
This was a great moment for me. Someone I used to have such a crush on, was SO in to Dead Can Dance. So, just because I was so in to them, I tried to get into this band, but, at the time, I didn't TRULY. Now, hearing this as a much older, more mature person, is so satisfying. And makes me think of that person, and who they are now, and what they've experienced since I was in to them. Very nostalgic for me. Thank you.
An unusual beautiful song, all of your songs lately have been so unusual and interesting with unusual beauty. can't get over it, the instruments in this song just kind of take you inside a huge steeple clock , and you are somehow inside of time itself.
You want to know about Brendan Perry's voice? Check out Don't Fade Away, from their live album, Toward the Within. It's so rich and powerful... evocative. I love Lisa Gerrard, but I think he's underrated, for sure. I write epic fantasy fiction, and DCD has provided the soundtrack to my storytelling for over two decades. Their sound has become part of my world-building. Enjoying you two very much, btw.
Toward the Within is required listening. Agree! 😊 Love 'American Dreaming.' I mean, who the heck other than DCD can easily use "somnambulistic" as a lyric.
That is probably the best sounding live album I can think of. Don't Fade Away is a fantastic track, one of the trio in the middle of the album sung by Brendan. My favorite section of the record. Cheers.
I agree. Listen to the album and watch the concert. When I got married (first time....) we walked in to The arrival and reunion also from an amazing album,
My favorite rack by them is San Vean sung by Lisa Gerrard. She also has some solo records. She grew up in a neighborhood that had many Greek & Turkish people who spoke to her in English but sang their songs in their native tongue so she grew up thinking you talked English but made up your words when you sang. All her songs are gibberish but sound so beautiful.
Beautiful reaction guys, thank you. I can understand why Andrei was picking up some Richard Hawley vibes. When I first started listening to Dead Can Dance and Brendan Perry’s voice especially, I had a similar feeling. I’m glad you both enjoyed it. ❤
Brendan Perry's voice is so incredibly soothing. Please check his love version of Crescent, and his son Babylon from his solo work. PS: thanks for reacting to Dead Can Dance, most Unique band ✨
I love Dead Can Dance, a wonderful group not many people know or listen to. May I suggest their song “Tell Me About the Forest You Once Called Home”. You may also like “Song Of The Stars”. Another wonderful group is Enigma. You’d probably like “Return To Innocence” by them.
Great reaction. Remember the first time I heard Dead can Dance and it stopped me in my tracks. May I recommend you to watch the video of their performance of "Children Of The Sun" live at KCRW..You will not regret it, trust me😊
THIS is an awesome example of Dead Can Dance at their very best. I add a link, but if that is removed, go find Rakim, live. ua-cam.com/video/-qHiaoz9su0/v-deo.html
The ONLY reaction I've ever seen to this fantastic song.
Thank you!
Dead Can Dance is a rabbit hole that's worth exploring!

From their album 'Into The Labrinth'.
A fantastic album full of amazing music!

Beautifully said 💚
One of my favorite bands ! can you say UNIQUE !
Ty for reaction. I adore this band! Brendan's voice is beautiful, the lyrics, poetry. Lisa indescribable.
Todo lo que hacen es maravilloso
To me, their most haunting track is Host Of Seraphim. Even more haunting coupled with The Mist video

Crikey! Haven't heard Dead can Dance for a few years!

Great song! (the official video is pretty cool too)
If someone could suggest more Dead Can Dance (Brendan Perry or Lisa Gerrard songs) it will be fantastic ! 🎉❤

I love The Seekers with Judith Dunham's song "The Carnival is Over".
Something, his voice or the phrasing or the song, reminds me of Frank Sinatra. ☮💙🎶
