What’s really odd, i play tuba in band, tried trumpet and could produce fairly low tuba range notes on it due to some wacky embouchure that I managed to do even with the smaller mouthpiece
@@TucsonDude Actually it doesn't take more breath control to hit the high notes. Just better embouchure. Guess your not a horn player huh? The fact that that highest note is a whole octave higher than I've ever played and hitting that double high G was enough to almost make me black out once... how
Trying a different mouth piece size or shape may help with comfort and air flow. More importantly is just the technique and to increase air speed. Playing super high alot with bad technique can leave lip scarring possibly, if you're not aware. In my opinion circular breathing and double tongue-ing are more useful.

He's a huge talent in any case and has been for a very long time. Only once you’ve played a trumpet and gone up the scale will you truly understand how much skill and constant dedication to the instrument it takes to come even close to playing those high notes.
Had close to this in highschool and after being hazed in Drum Corps, gave up music, kick myself for it all the time, lead player in a top jazz school freshman year and allowed hazing to ruin it all
I have a terrible cold, have to breathe through my mouth, and when I swallow food, the air forced through my sinuses... my nose hits that same high note.

As a former trumpet player, hitting those high notes and soloing is not easy. Was in a jazz band in college & had to do my own riffs at times. This player knows how to play the room. And he is good!
it’s possible he was playing at 0:25 but it was out of the range of human hearing
No way
Is that real?

He was playing a very high C but you have to listen very closely with perfect pitch
The high notes are cool, but the low notes are actually insane
Agreed, extremely low notes are way more awesome than ear piercingly high ones.
@@naterbator I can confirm, that was an extremely note in my opinion.

On the bass trombone
But them high notes are soO hard ngl the tightness of the lips when hitting them, then after the song your lips are buzzing like a vibrator (pause) 😅

Holy smokes! This man's control of his trumpet is absolutely amazing! He gets notes I didn't even know could be played!

I honestly questioned if the low notes were real at first. That is absolutely incredible
God I laughed so hard to the end cut with the percusionist giving all out on his last hit I swear the cut was perfect
The final directive "give sax a medal" got me-- lmfao!!!!!!!
Who is God?
I had NO idea trumpets could ever go that low! Incredible!!

That's talent and dedication right here wonderful !
He does it more smoothly than I've ever seen before.
Sandoval is a monster every time he plays.
I played for YEARS, this guy is GREAT, so clean.
Pretty amazing, I've never heard a note that high on a brass instrument. Now those are some chops.
Sometimes . . . band members are truly impressed by a member's solo. It happens.
This is the funniest solo of all time
He is very candid about the insane practicing he does to accomplish these feats 😳
the pedal tones arae just eath shattering
Arturo Sandoval truly is a range master on the trumpet. A range like his is what we should all strive for.
the range on bro
Arturo Sandoval is one of the greatest ever. Plays piano and keyboards like a monster too. Thank you to Cuba for sending him to us,
this is what music should all be about: people enjoying themselves both listening and making music
as person who ever play in marching band those high note is very amazing.
Can we just give a round of applause for the drum guy he's just rocking out I guess😂😂😂
This man just turned a trumpet into a trombone and back again like 3 times.
That mic is a hero
I got to meet him once, in Seattle, years ago at Jazz Alley. ❤❤❤
love the sheet music at the end- "mega drum roll" "give sax a medal"
that sax was playing his lungs off
The sax player(forget his name sorry!)… He waited all his life for this moment…and freaking nailed it! Nice!
This should be the video entry of what defines "Disappointment" in the digital Websters Dictionary.
The trumpet turned into a dog whistle lmao
... give sax a medal !!!
Yep, that's Arturo Sandoval alright. I remember when he used to play back in the old country. The man still got it.
I would have loved to hear this entire song. Man he can blow that horn!! :)
Very nice 👌
I wish this kind of music was still played places
I have a terrible cold, have to breathe through my mouth, and when I swallow food, the air forced through my sinuses... my nose hits that same high note.
At this point, I think we can all agree that George has a crush on Arturo
My Band director took us to Hutchinson to hear him. Just unbelieveable and at the time he was still touring from Cuba. 1992
the guy on the drums 💀
He got a range from seismic waves to kettle boiling.

Good job ladies. Trombones lead the way.
Hit the note right out of the park!
These high notes sure burn the lips of the trumpet player.
When you also wanted a trombone as a kid and dad tells you he bought you a two in one trumpet.
Just seen and played this for the first time. When he hit that last upper register, I didn't hear it, but my dog went bonkers.🤣
the ending is so FUNNY 😂
His lips must have been bleeding on that last note. I can't imagine an embouchure that tight!!!!
I finished before the band did.
I hit that note once. I then immediately blacked out
He can inflate a hot air balloon with that thing.
Crazy Virtuoso! I've heard of Sandoval - but I never actually saw him.

Awesome low stuff! Kudos from a 4th (french) horn!!
