I have same truck as u
want to add the setup u have. I would like to do it myself. Do u have a list of all the cables u used
Man awesome review. I can’t count how many videos I seen demoing this sub and they play 45 seconds of a track that’s a bunch of mids and highs, then when the “bass” starts its its drowned out. A bass track to show off the sub, straight and to the point. I love it. I’m actually thinking of getting the same sub for the same reasons you did. Thank you for uploading this
Thanks. It’s definitely the perfect sub and amp for my truck
Do I need a inline inverter for this same setup brotha

I bought this product and was more then impressed with the way it performed, plenty of boom, plenty of space. Thumping hard and clean. Still sounds good in the back of a trunk of a small car.
What kind of car did you put it in?
@@diesel850 a Ford Focus, how ever I took the trunk cover off so it worked out perfectly
Oh ok you commented a few weeks ago. Glad it worked out for you
Is this the 10” or 12”?
Thanks for responding appreciate it. Kicker box being delivered today . Cold and snowing here. Will try to install stuff this weekend. Thanks again
Fast and quick video with good information!! Thanks
Thanks, do you have the same setup?
Thanks for the video. Exactly was I was looking for with the same setup and truck. (Exactly the same)
I have the same one kicker 12 inch with 500 rms kicker amplifier sounds amazing
Damm bro through my airpods it sounds clean
Nice man, I have 2 12’s kenwood to a 600watt amp I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado crew cab so it’s the box under the rear seats. My amp is under my front passenger seat.
I also had a 15 Silverado with 2 Jl audio 10s under the back seat, I ended up mounting my amp to the wall behind the seat
I just saw a video that shows moving that 50 amp fuse to left (where your blue wire is located) that makes the cig plug switched instead of constant power
I actually did the same thing a few weeks ago. Works like a charm
I thought this box comes with a amp built in already???
No ,amp is not built in
Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but you can disable the constant power to the cigarette lighter plug. Just take that fuse out and put it in the other spot for it… I think it’s right there up under it that doesn’t have anything there. At least that’s how it’s been on all my gm vehicles.
Yes . I switched it over not long after I posted the video. It definitely made a big difference
@@diesel850 good deal man.
You can change the fuse relay in a different position for your cigarette lighter to control constant power or ignition power only
Yes, I actually changed it a fee weeks ago. Definitely make a difference
I noticed your comment after I sent mine.
Move the relay over to change the "cigarette lighter port" to switched.
We found out today that some 2019 models have a bundle of radio wires that run along the passenger side floor panel. Simply cut into the black sleeve and tap into the (blue wire/black stripe) and the (solid white). These wires were twisted together on mine. Hope this helps someone.
Does the factory radio have rca hook up in the back? If not where did you hook your rca’s into?
@@josh_9266you hook them to speaker wires driver side has green and green black and passenger might have blue and blue black wire twisted but just buy a loc high low converter and wire it to that and then plug rcas into the loc
Nice setup
Could you please let us know whether you are still happy with the sub after 2 years. Thx
Yes still happy. I switched to a different amp a year ago. It’s been 3 years now
@diesel850 thanks for this video man, super helpful. How'd you get the audio signal to the amp? Did you tie in to the door speakers and low level line converter, or did you find pre amp sources?
Yes, I used the rear drivers side door speaker
I see it hit harder. You need to change the title and put kicker trtp in it so the people can see this video when looking it up. Thanks man mine on its way
I have the same set up as you do , where is your gain at?? I couldn’t really tell where I needed to set mine
ua-cam.com/video/9rapHBFKztc/v-deo.htmlsi=l_cATUFGQTv1cuDh
In this video shows where i put it
Question. Can I turn up the remote sub knob 3/4 instead of all the way up when setting the gain so that I have a bit of extra volume headroom in case the particular song is kind of low
Yes I did the same thing with mine and it works great
I want to put this set up on my Miata to see how it will sound
It will sound great in a Miata
My bad I see the lil lip on the box I should have looked but a budget bass guy did a 140db build with thousand watts and one twelve so you on the right track sorry bout that nice truck
Good setup I’m doing same on my 2020 trail boss custom . 4 months ago u posted to someone use green wires not lime color. Then a month ago u posted to someone to use lime colors not green ones. Was wondering which ones are the right ones to use? Another question u just used left rear speaker wires to one set on the Loc then only use one rca jack to amp correct? Let me know thx.
It’s actually the dark green wire and the dark green wire with black stripe. , yes just use the left rear speaker. That was my mixup. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll correct it.
Hey man awesome video 🙌🙌 quick question what do you think it would sound better ? I have a 10inch lt7 right now on my jeep wrangler and I was thinking on buying the one you have in this video on a 12inch .. which one you think would sound better ?
The 12 would sound great in a jeep, they’re great for small suv
Is that just the sub... factory front rear.. amp only on the sub?
How did you get pass auto start issues if any. Did you run your amp to your battery like a regular setup
Yes just a regular setup. Auto stop works fine. But I always turn mine off every time I start my truck
Do you have any sound deadener or fast rings?
I know you only set up subs but if you or anyone can help me out about my 4 channel amp powering the 4 speakers and 1 sub. I've been having this random "alternator" whining noise. I've tried moving the bare metal ground around and still have the same results. I tapped the signal for the sub from the front speaker from the gray connector underneath the passenger dashboard . The front signal from the rear speakers because not only the front speaker signal has more volume but also front speaker signal amplify the door chimes. How do i get rid of this high pitch noise..? Thanks
Call me 8502646908
I installed an amp the same way in my 2019 Silverado. When the stop/start feature is on and I pull up to a red light, as soon as I let go of the brake and the truck turns back on, the amp turns of real quick and the speaker makes a pop noise. Did you have anything like that??
I don’t have that issue. Where did you run your remote wire from? That could be the problem. I always turn my auto off every time I start my truck, it’s a habit. I can’t stand auto stop:start.
Also what amp are you using? Some amps are not compatible with auto stop feature due to the drop in voltage when the vehicle shut off
@@diesel850 it’s a Memphis 500 watt amp
9 months late but I have a 2006 f150. Do you recommend this sub in your honest opinion or would you recommend something else?
Yes . Definitely in a f150 or any pickup truck
Is that the kac-511, and do you have the Bose system in the truck that this is added to? Nice setup btw, just got a 2020 RST I’m looking to add some boom to.
No Bose system . Yes it is the KAC 511. Or you could use a kicker 800-1
What is my option if I have the Bose system rst 2020 Silverado
@@carlosornelas5316 JL powered sub boxes is what I’m looking at, Bose system in my 2020 RST. Dual 8’s with built in amp.

Can you get audio signal from the passenger side door speakers? If so what color would those wires be?
Blue wire with black stripe and a solid white wire. It’s the rear passenger side door speaker
@@diesel850 thank you!!
@diesel850 What color are the factory speaker wires you tied into? Did you use a Line inverter? or high input to your amp?

Lime green with black stripes and solid lime green. I just posted a link to a more detailed video
So how long did your speakers last . RMS is 500 watts and 1000 watts is peak . I fried my speakers running a 500 watt Rockville DB 12 this week . Called Crutchfield and they sent me another one and was told to turn my gain down on my amp .
Mine still is holding up after 3 years.I recently switched to an amp with a little more power . Alpine series S . But you definitely have to turn that gain down. My new amp puts out about 330 at 4 ohms
I got this same exact sub do you think it’s possible to swap the passive radiator for second comp rt?
Nah. Box too small, won’t sound right
@@diesel850 ah ok I mean it doesn’t sound bad just a thought, thanks for the input
Hey so did you tap into the door speakers directly? or did you have to use a LOC? I have a 2020 Chevy 2500 that im doing this on, and i cannot figure out how to get the audio signal to the amp. I tapped into the rear door speakers with a 2 channel LOC, but i cant get it working right.
Along side the drivers side door trim, there’s a bundle of wires. Use the solid lime green and lime green with a black line. Don’t get it mixed up with the dark green. Also there’s plenty of room under the drivers seat to hide the LOC
What color wires did you use?
Also make sure on the loc , you tie solid white and solid grey together also tie the striped grey and white together

Would two of these 12 boxes under rear seats?
Probably not. Due to the hump from the 60/40 seat
Very good. Does your amps also drive your door speakers?? or just the woofers??
No , just the sub
@@diesel850 GM sells two Kicker subwoofer kits for my 2021 GMC truck. One is just a subwoofer ($700) and the other is a subwoofer with an additional amp ($1300) for the door speakers. Each kit will wire into GM (non Bose) radio. Do you have any opinions on the kits ?? Thanks

did you access the rear door speaker through the wiring harness in the running board on the floor or did you remove the panel running next to the driver seat belt?
Through the running board

I used the spot on the passenger side fuse box for the remote wire, and I have the amp/subwoofer combo ground, 12v and remote switch mounted under my steering wheel to turn up/down. But I don't know which wires to use for actual sound. Are there two plugs behind the radio that I can simply plug in to both the sub/amp and radio? Or are these new trucks not like that? I don't want to go through all the trouble of removing the head unit if they aren't there. Can you please help?
I used the rear drivers side door speaker . It’s a lime green wire with a black line and the solid lime green wire. Don’t get it confused with the dark green wires

@@ccnn1973 thanks. Let me know how it goes
I would highly suggest using an Add-a-Fuse, instead of directly tapping into the block like you did. You can use appropriate sized fuses for the application. Running 50 amps through that thin remote wire is a fire hazard. It really only needs 2.5 or 5 amp fuse at most.
I see plenty vids with this amp hitting hard but mine doesn't
