“I have to keep running for my mental health . . . noggin . . . It gets weird in here.” Is by far the most relatable thing anyone has ever said to me. I guess I’d better get out for my own run now!
"anyway, I'm still angry" is one of my fave moments of this video. You getting out there with a headache and humidity is legend, sister. I love your hat. They should have us slower runners start earlier in races so we aren't out there suffering for hours in the peak heat.
Thank you for this. Every long run feels like a struggle bus for me. I come back to the house multiple times for something I forgot. It’s not pretty but weirdly satisfying afterwards. Bravo Lady 🙌🏻
You inspire me so much and are one of the many reasons I keep running myself! I love that you take time to show us real feelings and emotions you go through. I am so proud of you and all of your accomplishments! Go Erin!
Thank you for these slice of life videos. I have completely derailed from running, but I want to get back into it soon. You’re the best inspiration and I’m thankful for you!!
I'm not really sure what this means, but seeing other people genuinely miserable and annoyed and tired makes me feel so much better because sometimes I feel like everyone's happy and healthy and emotionally fulfilled and I'm the only one that's not when I'm in those moods. You have goofy days and irritated days, and I do too! And I'm assuming everyone else does as well. Freakin bless us all, and thank you for having this day where I can see it and know I'm not alone ❤️
Loved the video and the human side of marathoners. The struggle is real. I haven't prepared as well as I would have liked but I hope to see you in Chicago in 10 days! Enjoy your taper period!!!! 😊😊
Good luck out there 😅 at the Chicago marathon, sending lots of support and tree tunnel vibes 🌳✨🌲 New follower. Wish I had found your account sooner. I’ve upped my running (ok, let’s face it more like jogging) thanks to you 😊
You continue to inspire me! It would probably embarrass both of us for you to know how many times I think of you and your run struggles during most of my runs. It's one of the ways I convince myself I can keep going. Thank you!
I’ve learned that I have to set my phone to “do not disturb” during workouts to prevent the spam calls from interrupting them. You can still allow calls from contacts in the event that there’s an emergency.
This video makes me feel better about a few of the runs I have had this summer. We moved to Florida and I am now getting up at 4am to run. It’s just too hot when the sun’s out.
It's a cliche, but those tough sessions build character. Every sport I have ever done inevitably brought along with it some dark times. Getting through them almost always made the process more rewarding.
You got this! And don't worry the final wave goes out around 830 you'll be well on your way by 11 when the weather starts warming up. This video basically sums up how most of us are feeling right now.
With the dehydration vs. humidity talk: have you tried salt tablets? On high humidity days? They suck to consume but I know that frustrated feeling of “why are my god damn electrolyte drinks not making a difference”.
I so felt your pain on this one. Used to drive me mad when my family would start texting while I was on a long run and continually interrupt my music. Positive people thought I was nuts when I was dropping F 💣 while running
You are an inspiration!! Also I relate to feeling hungover when I stay up too late (I’m sober). I know according to alternative eastern medicine/Ayurveda, it’s best to keep the same sleep pattern every single night and best to sleep between 10 pm- 6 am ;) I don’t know the science behind it but know it does wonders for me personally 🤷🏻♀️

Get out there for your mental health noggin lol

I’m glad I just kept the camera rolling in case anything meaningful came out 😅
YES I am a disaster too! I love your honesty so much!! It sometimes takes me 1 1/2 hours to get going…procrastinating getting out the door.
I’m right there with you on that 1.5hrs 😅
I loved those mile updates, haha. Wicked format
Thank you for this. Every long run feels like a struggle bus for me. I come back to the house multiple times for something I forgot. It’s not pretty but weirdly satisfying afterwards. Bravo Lady 🙌🏻
I totally relate to that!

Bad runs are the most important, then I'm ready for my first marathon. My 20 miler, for instance, ended at 18.
I totally feel you! And sometimes you don’t even know what you learned from the bad run until your next tough moment

I'm the same way and appreciate it when I can relate like this

Thanks, you too! :)

Thank you! Good luck with your running. Glad you’re here to tag along virtually 😊

Fun fact is I try to imagine everyone that watches my videos running with me and i don’t even know what you look like lol
Hilarious and relatable, I have been there--wish you the best in Chicago. I will be there as a volunteer and will be cheering you on!!
omg yay!! Thanks for volunteering!
I wanted reach through and give you a hug! Way to push through to get it done.
I’ve learned that I have to set my phone to “do not disturb” during workouts to prevent the spam calls from interrupting them. You can still allow calls from contacts in the event that there’s an emergency.
Ooooh I’m going to do that! Thank you!
I understand. I struggle at the beginning of every run. I have to talk to myself in a very stern tone to get my a$$ in gear. You’ve got this! 🎉
You got this Erin! You will be fine!
Well done for pushing through! That mindset will get you through the marathon.
Yes! Thank you!
Hoping to run Chicago next year! Can't wait to see your update :) Good luck!
Yay for you pushing thru!!! Love the honesty.
So well done Erin. Best of luck for Chicago. You’ll love it I’m sure. 😊
Thanks 🙏

ME TOO!!!
It really effects some people a lot more and unfortunately we’re in that camp
Well done. So relatable. You’ll do great in Chicago
I hope so!
Your videos give me life and get my behind out the door!
I love that!
You’re the real deal Erin!❤
you might find this hard to believe, but this video made me wish I was marathon training again. so real.
but also I'm not actually signing up for a marathon right now haha
That is hard to believe lol
It's a cliche, but those tough sessions build character. Every sport I have ever done inevitably brought along with it some dark times. Getting through them almost always made the process more rewarding.
Very true
I had a very similar run today!!!!! It sucked big time but ..did it.
That's the important part!
Thanks for keeping it real. Helps to know I'm not there only one
We’re all out here surviving 😅
I've had so many runs like this.
Yes! I'm this much of a disaster always
We can be disaster buddies lol
You got this! And don't worry the final wave goes out around 830 you'll be well on your way by 11 when the weather starts warming up. This video basically sums up how most of us are feeling right now.
Oh good! Idk why I had 11 in my head
If you do Wim Hof breathing in cool water it is no longer overwhelming trying to get out the door.
With the dehydration vs. humidity talk: have you tried salt tablets? On high humidity days? They suck to consume but I know that frustrated feeling of “why are my god damn electrolyte drinks not making a difference”.
I did get some to try to I’ll keep them on hand. Thank you!
I so felt your pain on this one. Used to drive me mad when my family would start texting while I was on a long run and continually interrupt my music. Positive people thought I was nuts when I was dropping F 💣 while running
This is too relatable 😅
I just had a dog if a run.. going for 33km, but cold, with a headache, dodgy belly… got 15 km and decided to stop. Looking for answers…
Well I’m in Chicago and we’re currently wearing jackets cause it’s cold. So maybe it will be chill for the race
I hope so
My first full marathon is in 2 weeks and I think I might die! I'm also now all of a sudden chafing in places I've never chafed before. NOT AMUSED!
omg the chaffing! This will be my third marathon and I don't think I ever had it this bad. We're in this together lol good luck!
Anyone else like me?! Couple days before Chicago and dragging and stressed, great runs all year, but last couple felt horrible?!
You are an inspiration!! Also I relate to feeling hungover when I stay up too late (I’m sober). Thanks for sharing!! I've been working on getting more consistent sleep. It's hard!
Don't worry, it's already fall in Illinois, you might actually be cold
How did you avoid runners knee?
properly fitted shoes, no heel striking, always stretching.
If you want a cheerleader I’ll get a sign and my lawn chair and cheer as you run by. I see you every once and while.
Or just yell something. I'll be entertained lol
