That thing is mint idk what your talking about. My 2013 STI limited has its front bumper in two giant rips, the paint has faded, the body has tons of scratches and wear. Your example is miles better than mine. And get this. My 10 year old car has 65k on the body.
They most certainly are not fundamental. Yes the flex which is part of their design to how they work. Look at airplane wings they are not rigid they have to flex. Those stabilisers are ugly and do not have a purpose. But 17 yos think they look cool for some reason.
That Subie was VERY far from needing to be brought back from automotive oblivion!.... That bit was a little melodramatic That is very clean for an '06 and is in better shape than most cars that are 10yrs younger. Excellent find!
That looks clean asf for being an 06!! Surprised those Subarus don’t have rust yet I owned an 04 F150 after I got out of HS in 2017 up to 2021, my old truck had rust more of on the bottom sides. Very nice looking car! Love seeing some of those on the roads
@RoadPatina If you have tools or a garage jack/hoist (amazon) drop everything, power hose/degrease it, and source oem replacement parts. Even stock turbo. Restore its natural driving form. No rust, you'll increase value, appreciate it a lot more, and won't forget why you bought it. Looks like you now know where that rust came from. Looked like a dent/scratch with fender. Can always have body shop repair oem fender. Won't be much since it's off car. Value here is oem Vin sticker. You're really not too far off other than lots of tlc.
i went out of state to buy my 05 sti because i wanted no rust etc but when i took the wheel liners off it was packed with mud and sand like theyve been off roadiung lol. im ok with that because the rockers wasnt a spec of rust. i went through and scuffed and undercoated the whole underside and wheel wells with 2 part epoxy primer and herculiner. that shit is so tough and is amazing for undercoatings.
Man I’m jealous. My 06’ sti I picked up to resto has completely rusted out rockers underneath the side skirts. I realized it when I went to jack the car up for first time and pinch weld disintegrated to rust dust. The car drives and runs so good though 🤣 I’m just gonna have to buy a welder and do my first rocker panel swap

I may have been slightly over dramatic!
Slightly is an understatement for the vocabulary used in this video. Things got 0 rust
I love that "65k on the body means that its on its second motor already
How is your paint faded? Mine is the silver and it's 2005, it's got 200,000K on it and the paint is chipped but not faded at all

From Canada. The cars come pre rusted up here. Super jealous as I watch this doingsome bi annual rust battle with my 2004
Bummer, I bet it’s a battle!
Finally found your channel. Miss my 06 STI. Glad to see your videos.

Bro is doing too much, it's not a new car stop judging it so hard, this car is nice
Thank you for the videos. I vote you keep it and restore it. Can't wait to watch this series too. Good luck.
I like that plan! Thanks
That thing is clean
@@Jaronbrock333 not bad!
Bruh this is cleaner than my Hawkeye Sti smh
Keep it! And just fix things overtime
Yes!
I'd take that over mine any day. I can't fix the rust unless I drop $5000+ to get it cut and welded.
Ouch!
good luck with your new project!
Thank you, I’ll need all the luck I can get!
Those black Perrin wing supports are fundamental. That wing is known for flopping and vibrating during highway driving.
But look at them! 👀
@@RoadPatina I didn't say they were pretty 😝

Neglected, yes. OTHERWISE, it's good. I'd say keep it. Remove all the crap aftermarket parts. Go full oem. No rust is a great start.
I think you are on to something!
