Nice work thanks especially for showing how to work it down that makes a big difference in the way the corners last. In the winter we do a lot of temporary repairs for upcoming customers and projects. And you really can tell the difference in how they are installed 😂😂😂

Watched this today, applied 4 decent corner patches, no issues whatsoever. Very useful content for a DIY roofer. Thank you.

Where did you get the corner patches?

EPDM looks like a great way to flash a skylight curb system. Any suggestions on how to transition the EPDM to an existing mineral-surfaced rolled roofing material on an almost flat roof?

Yes and it’s quite simple… 2 options, either tear off the existing roof down to the plywood. Use caution here as the self adhered base layer is very time consuming to get off.
You can install a 1/2” recovery board over top of the granulated roof, make sure the tasters going into the plates down go through the ceiling below the roof. Next, roll out and cut your EPDM to fit the roof with enough overhang to cover the exhausting roof and extend 3-4” below the old roof line. Now you can adhere the EPDM with bonding adhesive. The final step would be to attach edge metal to the perimeter of the roof along with cover tape covering the top of the metal and extending on the roof roughly 4”.
Note: the roof may require seaming areas as well as flashing to chimneys/walls etc.

Wish I'd known where to apply the pressure before attempting this.

Is there any situation where you would add 2 pieces of flashing to cover 1 90° corner?

6" under 12" usually for more difficult internal risings such as corners and ridges

If you’re following spec, some manufactures require a 6” and 9 or 12” patch. If you’re not going after a manufactures warranty you don’t have to but those are sensitive areas commonly associated with leaks so it’s best to double up!

    External corner not outside
    External and internal fyi
And that primer is actually bonding agent.
Apex is the top , you actually mean walk it down to your substrate membrane.
Neat job though just need to learn the correct wordings.
And the only bad thing about EPDM is the bonding agent isn't waterproof so you are relying on mastic to prevent ingress.
    That's why EPDM sucks.
The roofs longevity is only as good as that mastic joint unless you have your corners fused to your field sheet .

EPDM when installed correctly is actually a nice roof system.
Just too many missed steps when installing EPDM leads to early failure
