Looks amazing. Will try as soon as I find where to buy some. Hearing it hard to find in Trinidad now.
This dish is very strange to my eyes, but If I can find cascadoux/hassa/kwie kwie in the UK, I will definitely give this recipe a try.
looks amazing 🇹🇹🖤❤🤍
Looks delicious, we Guyanese cook hassa deferent with head on and coconut milk and not the peas or stuffing, but I'm gonna try it😚
With okra, tamarind, and green mango!!! Also, you salt the hassa overnight. We have the coconut milk version, and curry version-both are delicious!! I like to see how Indians in different countries cooks it...

It looks delicious! I never had this fish before. Does it have a distinct taste or is comparable to another fish?
Dee TheEmpress It is very delicious. I actually don't eat it but I tasted it that day and it's really sweet and nice. Not sure which fish to compare it to. If anyone knows, please comment ☺

Hassa have to cook with coconut milk
My favorite fish sweetest part is the head Guyanese stuff it with salt and sugar we dont put peas in it we cook it with coconut milk
In french Guyana, it's "atipas". We use tomatoe and coconut milk.
All the cascadoux done or it have in the fridge still? 😂 Gonna make some now, thanks for the recipe
Omg where's the head? You threw away the best part!!
You suppose to leave on the head and suck out the curry and sauce from the fish mouth lol.
I does see grandma them eating it so.
Excellent video btw!
and hey, whenever cooking strong flavored fish, soak in regular milk for 24 hours, then soak it in lemon or lime water for another 24 hours, then cook it, it will lose the fishy taste 100%. I know sometimes Cascadoo does have that fishy muddy taste.
Lol I don't eat it, I only make it for my family and they prefer it with the head off. Thanks, I will try that next time :)
Hi my dad stuff it with the season that's chunk and green mango and you don't cut the head off that fish is found all over the lake in Florida and the the fish is call armored cat fish that is the right name look it up guys
When are you going to open a restaurant

never had that in years I forgot how to do it mouth is watering thank you
What the hell is cascadoux? It’s cascadoo or cascadura
And you just trynig to be bitchy it has ALWAYS
BEE
N CALLED CASCADOUX in trinidad as and yes the proper name is cascadura but in trini dialect its CASCADOUX
Fish
coconut milk is add not so much water Trini style
Not an attractive or appetizing looking fish but I bet it tastes good!
you need to keep the head on then you stuff it
This is the most grotesque fish that I have laid my eyes on.
Hassar is the spelling
It's spelt "hassar" but I have never heard the "r" pronounced... It is silent. Nothing to worry about
looks great although I am not a fan of this fish.
Trini Cooking with Natasha Thanks, I don't eat it either but I tried it that day, it was so sweet and nice.
That fish is an invasive species of catfish...don’t know who decided this look delicious but I personally don’t find it appealing.....im sure the curry is great though.
I can't cook gish
Girl yuh cut out the heads nahhhhh leave the heads it makes a great sucky ting to suck out the curry lol and yes i know i will get some rude replies be my guest
