Rebecca Sramkova, where have you been all my life??? 27-year-old Slovakian, and I don't seem to remember ever seeing her play before? Seems she has been hiding in ITF, and playing qualies at majors with very limited success. This was one of the most compelling matches I have seen ever. Not surprised it involved Osty, who I often root for, despite the potentially annoying combative nature of her demeanor during matches. But Rebecca won me over and I was rooting so hard for her! I hope her career has turned a corner and we get to see more of her exciting play in big matches. What a doll!
I think she was hanging around the 120 rank for quite a while, then got an injury and fell, she got back up and now that she’s had a good run at a big tournament she’s finally in the top 100 for the first time

What I don't like about Ostapenko (other than her bad behaviour and open mouth during the ball toss), is her forehand which is more arm than rotation. A technique like that isn't stable enough. Probably one of the reasons why her results are not consistent.
You just can’t be happy for ostapenko, she would have been a the sorest loser if she had lost and given the worst handshake. Only gracious when she wins so you can’t be happy for her. She has such bad sportsmanship.
I bet Russian-speaking 🐷 is crying every time IGA wins tournaments and has come to the conclusion that even in 1000 years she will never be as successful as IGA 🤣.
