- Watch Rich's first Gyroplane flight at Oshkosh 2022 in an AutoGyro Cavalon 915iS.
This 141HP Rotax engine gyroplane is made by German's AutoGyro. Cierva Aero's Marc Campbell (CEO) introduced us to the Cavalon and David Gillmore of @LDSPrepper shared his experience learning to fly his own Cavalon gyrocopter.
Michael Burton, Chief Flight Officer for Cierva Aero, was Rich's pilot. He demonstrated the Cavalon's takeoff, cruise, maneuvering, and landing characteristics. Tigre also got to enjoy the short demo flight on his own ride and he managed to fit in at 6'6" with the seat fully aft and pedals full forward.
It's a blast to ride in, and we can't wait to learn how to fly them! Stay tuned for more videos!

Ooh, I want one -- especially in turquoise!
They will paint it in any color scheme you want!
How much do they cost and where can I get one?
Depends on if it's a home build kit or a certificated one. Depending on engine, hours, avionics, you can expect between $100k to $220k. Visit here to find a sales partner near you: www.auto-gyro.com/en/Worldwide/Sales-Partner/
High Line of Thrust is a very unsafe design... I would only buy a center line of thrust gyro like the dominator or sparrowhak 3.
Great suggestion. Would be fun to fly different thrust line designs.
Silly place for the radiator/ intercooler.. on the magni m24 it is protected. One off field landing could wipe that off
It definitely protrudes a fair bit!
@Personal Wings I think gyros are great so many advantages over fixed wing. Good video not many people know much about them.
@@WRA838 They are fun, but do have a higher risk in some operations. We found them to be a blast and hope to continue our flights in them this spring. If you are subscribed you will be notified!
Unikum.
Tack för att du tittade ? Skål
If only they could takeoff as short as they can land...
Then it would be a helicopter :) You need forward velocity to accelerate the main rotor, since after activating the pre-rotator the rotation is accelerated by forward speed.
Looks like a great little craft but the video is awful!!
Thanks for appreciating our video skills!
Video was shot with handheld iPhone. Not bad at all. Good job capturing audio.
