This was a power creep, with constant content, programs everywhere, better rewards, better legends, the inning program, daily moments program, better player missions, a real monthly awards program, better weekly Topps now, a bunch of different collections, live series collection rewards far better etc. Everything was better except Franchise, bat sounds, card art ? and hair physics ?? Absolutely loved this game wish they never changed.

this game holds so much nostalgia for me... it was my first year of dd and i was a senior in hs doing online classes bc covid still and had a summer job i loved and would get home everynight after a day of lifeguarding to play 21 tol 2 in the morning.... this was honrstly the best three months of my life until i joined left for bootcamp that july... put it this way i played 254 games on mlb 21... i havent played 254 games in the three years combined since

I did get some progress in DD and some time in Franchise (time I would like back), and so disappointed. I really hope SDS sees that they are on the verge of losing a lot of customers if they don't go back to basics and just make a video game that we can enjoy and don't care about time lose it it.

Hitting has always been a coin flip. It sucks that we lose so many legends and never get many of them back. DD had the inning and TA programs, which meant tons of free stuff for grinding. '22 felt stale, and then '23 and now '24 have happened...
IMO, this is the best MLBTS of all time. MLB 20 is a very close second. 21 just had absolutely everything. Hitting was consistent, pitching wasn't terrible. Other than those custom stadium glitches and the fielding glitches, this was the best game content and gameplay wise. I won't oppose other candidates though.
'21 ruined RTTS with that DD crap. I get that most people play for packs, and like to sink their money into to the absurdity of card collecting. But that stupid Diamond Dynasty shit ruining my single player mode was unforgiveable.

We all know their goal this year is to make that bread. But surely they’ll course correct next year and go back to the 21’ format. There’s just no way that they could hear the outcry and physically watch their players disappear and NOT make a major change next year. I say all that, yet I’m reminded of Hollywood. Companies like Disney have been actively putting out movies and shows that they know are gonna fail. They’re literally bleeding money with no clear change in the future. So why should it be a surprise that SDS just ignores the loss and keeps pushing this format? 😂 surely this won’t continue. But what do I know.
Im waiting on a sale for this game. I dont want 24 or 23 and I'm not paying $30 for a game that won't function right in a few years when they shut the servers off. Give me this game as the free PlayStation plus game or on sale for $10 and I'm playing the hell out of it and i think itll last longer than a year. They kept 19 and 20's on until January of this year. So I'd say 21 has another good two years in it left
SDS copy and pastes the same game, somehow makes it worse, and charges $70 for it every year. Literally all they do is update rosters, its criminal at this point
Watching this depresses me because It clearly shows how lazy SDS has gotten. Content sucks, graphics are a mess, for god sake I pitched with kodai sensation recently and his face looked like it got splashed with vitriol, and a very grindy experience for players who do NMS because they aren't content creators who can just mark in game purchases as a tax write off. It just seems the higherups at SDS have completely lost touch with players and let greed take over. I'm not gonna blame the people coding the game because they gotta make shit happen. I keep playing the game because I love team building modes and baseball as a whole and im hoping we see a better title. I just refuse to give SDS any money at this point because of their scummy practices.

People… this is just what happens when you play the same video game for years. No one who’s played 2k or Madden or any other long standing franchise would say that this year’s game is good. Ask anyone, they’ll say “oh they haven’t made a good cod in years” or “the last good 2k was 2k16”. Maybe it’s not SDS who’s dropping the ball… maybe it’s just that you no longer enjoy playing virtual baseball.
While I agree with you in some points SDS did really dropped the ball with this year's game,been buying this gm since 06 and last year 23 was the one I skipped,you don't really see any improvement at least since 20-21,they can do so many great things with this game content wise but they choose to make us buy packs after packs ,in this year's gm i did had fun on season 1 and I put close to 300 hrs on the first season,I felt like the gm waa going in the right direction,sure there's always mistakes and all that but it was ok,this reseting season type of crap is awful,ain't spending 300 hrs again for cards i won't be able to use in 6 weeks ,at least in my case ,other ppl enjoy doing that to each their own i guess ..but not me
