After seeing all the villain characters dark timelines I honestly can’t say who’s was worst, but seeing Liu kang die and Shang sung rule definitely left an impression on me. Also can we agree that funjin was the real mvp for his timeline.

I've been a huge fan since I was a kid! I'm almost 23 now and literally just beat the Aftermath DLC and it's literally 4:00am here now and I'm heartbroken. I'm left wondering... What of all of the characters we've grown to love? The timeline truly has been reset... So does this mean MK12 will be a reboot? Will we see and still have Fire God Liu Kang? And what of Raiden? Will he still be god of thunder? Will ALL of the characters we know and love have to reintroduce themselves to one another again? Will we have to go through everythinggggg else again? Another tournament? I know that the story will have to end one way or another, But the ending for Aftermath seemed so... Abrupt. I mean, after Liu meets The great Kung Lao, boom, credits. I was expecting to see more. But.. Nothing.. Man oh man. We have to wait until at least 2022 or 2023 to see MK12, based on the release schedule for NRS. But I feel like they may want to break away and do something different so we may have to wait even longer after the release of Injustice 3. And I wholeheartedly feel like the next MK might not be a continuation of MK11. I hope I'm wrong. But what new villains will arise? Onaga is the only big boss left that I can think of. It's a very bittersweet ending. I don't know how to feel about it at all. I enjoyed it, though. But I'm saddened. I just feel like we didn't get the proper goodbye from our heroes. They literally all died or are on the brink of death from Shao Kahn. I know it doesn't matter because the timeline is reset. But I will miss THOSE characters. The new characters in the timeline will be the same characters.. But they won't have the experiences and memories as their older counterparts. Although it's just a game, I'm saddened.
I believe that Fire God Liu Kang will still exist and will continue to rewrite or maybe make a new timeline where the characters we all know and love live but maybe have different experience. For example, The Great Kung Lao may not die at the hands of Goro anymore. Maybe Kung Lao now becomes the Chosen One and Liu Kang as the Fire God will be his mentor instead of Raiden. Raiden and Fujin may or may not gods of Earthrrealm yet. Maybe Scorpion/Hanzo does not lose his family and his clan. Maybe it would be Subzero (Kuai Liang) who would become a vindictive specter of Quan Chi and lose the Lin Kuei and Bi Han supposedly by Hanzo and the Shirai Ryu............... The possibilities.
As for big bosses to fight in future games, the MK universe is not lacking by any means. Besides Onaga, we also have the other Titans, and as Shang Tsung did here, any villain character from previous games and such can always make a comeback as the main antagonist. But no matter what, in terms of the absolute endgame boss, there's always the single most powerful entity in the history of the franchise, and he's been waiting to be restored since the Dawn of Time: *The One Being.*
Glad NRS finally made Kitana finally realize her own mother was the real murderer of her father King Jerrod if not Shao Kahn. I just feel bad for Kitana. Especially how she and Liu Kang ended up in this Alternate timeline.
this is a good potential to introduce king jerrod as a playable character in the next game. maybe the alternate timeline, edenia is still a peaceful realm. and lord liu kang had to sacrifice his happiness. for her.
Both the main game and Aftermath stories are ridiculous, but at least with Aftermath NR realized this and had some fun with it. Also Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa was pitch perfect.

Lui Kang's Aftermath ending felt like a wink to the next Mortal Kombat game. I think it would take place in the past where the Great Kung Lao would be the chosen one. Because I think they are done with this timeline and they would not re start it. The koncept is interesting really but I would be sad to see no scorpion.

i think aftermath is made for Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, for his amazing performance as shang tsung. they can add aftermath's ending in the main game, it's not hard to do that LOL. but DLC is the made for one last epic evil plan of the first villain of mk games. it's interesting that the game forcing us to play as villains In the second half of the game. we must destroy all of good guy with the guilty feeling (or not? depends on each person. if you pleasure to see good guy lose, shang tsung's ending is perfect for you XD)
I really enjoy Aftermath! Even though I consider the Fire God's ending canon, why did he chose Kung Lao has his Chosen One if not Cassie Cage. I mean, he wouldn't taken down Shinnok the way she did in MKX.
It should have been better if Ed Boon added the guest characters in the Aftermath story. And maybe Batman as an NPC, the same way they did to Sektor & Cyrax.

Well, it’s more on the lines of Earthrealm and Outworld trying to reclaim Shinnok’s amulet. On top of that, Kotal was trying to bolster Outworld’s forces by falsely aligning with Shinnok.

i think aftermath is made for Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, for his amazing performance as shang tsung. they can add aftermath's ending in the main game, it's not hard to do that LOL. but DLC is the made for one last epic evil plan of the first villain of mk games.
it's interesting that the game forcing us to play as villains In the second half of the game. we must destroy all of good guy with the guilty feeling (or not? depends on each person. if you pleasure to see good guy lose, shang tsung's ending is perfect for you XD)

I really enjoy Aftermath! Even though I consider the Fire God's ending canon, why did he chose Kung Lao has his Chosen One if not Cassie Cage. I mean, he wouldn't taken down Shinnok the way she did in MKX.

Now we get to enjoy both sides of the coin that Aftermath provided us: the heads, that was the original, heroic ending, and tales where evil was the main staple and came very close to winning were it not for Liu Kang once more. This is certainly gonna be fun.:D

MKX was a product of bad writing, it made characters hard to understand, even Cassie Cage defeating Shinnok was a joke.

Well, it’s more on the lines of Earthrealm and Outworld trying to reclaim Shinnok’s amulet. On top of that, Kotal was trying to bolster Outworld’s forces by falsely aligning with Shinnok.
