- Dry Tortugas National Park is a remote park about 70 miles west of Key West, Florida. It encompasses a cluster of seven islands including historic Fort Jefferson and surrounding coral reefs. This ten minute video introduces visitors to fundamental trip planning to get to and enjoy this amazing place.
Just imagine how awesome it is when everyone leaves for the day and just you and a few other campers have the whole place all to yourself.
If you ever get the chance to go, do so! Well worth it.... just a gorgeous spot on our planet.
OMG I can't wait to camp overnight thanks for explaining the best times to visit and weather conditions. Can't wait to see the sunset and stars.
we took the plane a week ago. expensive but stunning. sitting on that beach and staring at the gorgeous clear water and then looking to the right and seeing the fort was sureal. Gorgeous. Put it on your bucket list.
Beautiful, I really hope to go there one day, while I'm still young
Can't wait to go camping here! It's gonna be badass 🙂
A two hour bumpy ride on a high speed ferry. Day trip for sure but after 45 minutes viewing the fort that's enough. Long ride back; day is gone.
Camped here a lot on the 90s. Used to have tons of fossils. But tourists stole them all. The old prison is definitely a place for gorgeous photos . At night it is glorious when no ones around.
This is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for the video.
+saqsay1 My GF and I are going to make this run from Key West next April on a Mako 17 ft Skiff.
good luck......
Been there twice - definitely worth the price
Definitely want to go camping there looks absolutely brilliant.
Very nice video. Wat een prachtig Nationaal Park, het lijkt mij heerlijk om er rond te lopen.
Price point for the ferry is through the roof...
Is spear fishing with a Hawaiian sling allowed while snorkeling? And or pole fishing?
Any suggestions while camping this year? Bring in the New Year... we are spending 3 days there and not sure about the food quantity to bring
So our national park pass will not get us in here?
I would love to come and visit!!!
Another great video from DT NPS. Ya'll do a great job... much appreciated!
Were there any invasion attempts from the Spanish etc (during the pirating era)?
Hoping to visit this sometime soon!!!
ANY HOTELS CLOSE TO THE FERRY ?
Watch out for the loads of fun!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Is it still open???
I desperately want to go there
The Union built this to control the Gulfstream passage to the Gulf of Mexico. The problem is ships could easily sail by bc the forts canons couldn’t shoot far enough to hit them. The fort was a waste of money, that’s why they used it for a prison.
Does anyone know the cost to take the ferry or the seaplane to the Dry Tortugas?
towering shot, the ferry cost $175.00 for an adult but you get a discount if you're a student, military or old tymer 62 or older. The price includes the fee for entering the park and lunch. It's a little more if you go camping.
Beautiful!
Indie Films rock, so does this park.
This was supposed to be the last National Park for us but since we came back to Florida now instead of waiting for 412 other parks we are coming soon! Get your ranger badges ready Dry Tortugas NP my son currently has 67 :)
can people camp out a few nights here?
Kellie, can people pay attention to the information already provided?

Damn if I watch the vid theres no point in going anymore. Lol
no showers? :-[ that's the only problem for me
Showers? You're supposed to go and be one with nature😉. (I'm just kidding, the most I could do would be two days lol).
Once I went nearly a week without a shower at a scouting camp.
Kristi B Ah. you can forgoe a shower for such an experience.
Or you could bathe in all that water around the island.
Kristi B, Solar Showers will suffice. They’re affordable and doesn’t take long for the sun to heat the water.
Bring sunscreen
o
