**Another Un-Documented Nugget** - In **SAR Mode using Zoom** .. you can zoom in and out by using the scroll wheel while holding down the Camera button on the controller (thanks to "Milton Papa" for the reminder). The screen indicator does not move but the camera does zoom in and out.
Hi GG! tell me also what tablet you use, I have an 8.7 inch Galaxy A9 and it doesn't work. The support is from DJI Mini 2 I think and I can see that it fits well 👍🏻. Maybe you can give me a link for the tablet, thanks.
It seems that some DJI products are cheaper in some countries than others. I would say that Hubsan have really increased their prices. I thonk now, DJI are trying to wash away all the competition with their lower entry level pricing of the Mini 4k & Mini 3 drones.
@@GorillamansGarage True, It seems though once you add in a couple of extra batteries and a case etc etc the FIMI is lower cost overall. There are also those who want that extra for camera functions, and DJI or Autel shine in those areas. I think in most cases FIMI and some Hubsan models are great for 90% of what most folks will do with it. I haven't checked DJI prices recently to be honest.
@@GorillamansGarage Whoa that is super cheep!!! The mini 3 in the US is 589 for the combo. The 4 pro with the fancy controller combo is about $1,000 USD. Where I live 30 mph winds are normal, so I need an air, or the FIMI X8 Pro. The pro camera drone without the fancy controller is $679 USD for the combo which isn't bad at all. If DJI re-released the Air 2 combo at a sub 1K price, it would pretty much kill everyone. I think for most people the sub 250 gram weight is the deciding factor to go with a mini. I don't mind getting my part 270 license etc.
still confuse which one i need to buy potensic atom 4k or fimi mini 3..any recommend? NB : i do have dji neo and i can;t count that as a "drone" and im a bot dissapointed with dji neo :(
@@GorillamansGarage Even the first one? God, my unit sucked so bad!!! It literally flew twice and Fimi wouldn't warranty it unless I sent it back to China!

I have 6 DJI drones, Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, AIR 2S, AIR 3, FPV Drone, all fly more combos. I just got the Autel Evo Lite + Premium Bundle 5 days ago, & I got the Potensic Atom 3 Axis Gimbal, Fly More Combo yesterday. I think I should have bought this Fimi Mini 3, instead of the Potensic Atom. I'm seriously considering buying the Mavic 3 Pro, on payday, but im undecided. Either the M3P or the Avata 2. I'm currently studying for my part 107.

But you use the right top button and left wheel to zoom also.. Kind of like dji mini 2 but top right button and left wheel zooms.. The left wheel pushed up zooms..
Thanks... I'll give it a go. I thought I tried everything. You mean the camera button? ** I tried it.. Yes.. hold the camera button and use the scroll wheel. Sometimes on the first touch of the wheel the gimbal might move but on the second wheel movement the zoom does work. However the indicator on the screen does not move telling you what amount of zoom you are taking. That only moves when you physically touch the screen and slide it.
**Oops you can zoom in photo mode after take off. But this function is not documented and the tiny icon is hard to see**
I always thought that it is weird that you must be in SAR mode to zoom. It's another Fimi mystery. Great test GM.
It's an incremental drone, that's for sure.. but I had to have it for the collection 🤣

Great to have 12x zoom but it should let you use the zoom during normal flight. Why Fimi?

If NFZ's are not an issue.. 1000% go for the DJI Mini 3 or even the Mini 4K. All the "Off-Brands" are a work in progress .

It is an Alldocube iPlay50 Mini Pro.. I think they have better ones now as well. It's an 8 inch and does well but not that bright.
FIMI seems to be getting better and better.

Of the 2 you mention... The Fimi outshines the Potensic. The Atom only has a 1/3" camera and is not very good in lower light conditions.

I have liked all the Fimi Mini drones. But since DJI reduced their pricing, it's a real struggle.

The white one is a cheapy for the Hubsan mini drones.. Aliexpress.. there are many, many designs.
