Please do not make too much noise about this. They do not talk much about their projects. Its better to work in silence and make sure it succeeds.Remember action speaks louder than words.Congratulations Zimbabwe.
Yes, industrial energy park and mbire oil and gas if successful then l guess Zim won't have a choice.L am talking abt availability of steel, oil, gas and solar batteries locally that alone is good news.
I think if you combine the platinum deposits with what is already mined you get another #1 in Africa. lithium claims can also get another number 1 in Africa and possibly 2nd in world rankings only to Chile or USA. Resuscitating Zisco Steel will push up steel to even higher rankings . Cement production will also rise up to top rankings , as iron and limestone are its key ingredients. Positive results are also coming from the farming sectors with wheat leading the charge.
Thank You Brother Rutendo. We woukd like to see our youth in a better place. May tge money made be used to invest in our youth, to develop their skills and equip them to be engineers and such.
Need to be careful on the agreement. Some of these investments only benefit the country by small jobs. Structure them so that zim also gets proceeds from the export and not just in terms of jobs and licences. See what is happening in many mining countries in West Africa. Maghufuli had to stamp his foot down to have equitable return. They fought back hard but had to comply since they were making much more. So let's be careful not to be carried away by optics. Kudos to Zim. On to many heights.
This project is already changing things .. High voltage power line is finally moving East of great dyke towards Chivhu meaning heavy industry can now also be located along there too.
Good project. Hope this will bring some of our skilled workforce back. We cannot have the biggest steel plant that is entirely manned by expats, because it can't run without skilled labour. Hatisi Qatar, hatisati tasvika ikoko. The idea is to reduce unemployment in the country. I hope the government is working frantically to train our unemployed graduates. Or trying to engage or head hunt those in foreign countries, like South Africa kwavakusadiwa.
When will Zimbos start seeing benefits of these projects?,let’s not forget when Diamonds were discovered in Chiazva wee were told Zimbabwe will never beg again, but we saw zero benefit of Diamonds coz of looting and bad governance. Now this steel plant won’t mean much if the Regime fails to tackle corruption and continues looting. However if revenue actually goes to building strong institutions in Zimbabwe that improve lives of Zimbos, then no one will care about the other party and their ways.
Hopefully the investors will not be receiving 95 percent of the profit leaving Zimbabwe with only 5 percent... just hopeful that an intelligent deal was made 🙏
These are the types of investments that we need in our country.Investments that will benefit the whole country and not just one area. With such investments, our country is poised for growth with downstream industries having to be opened in all corners of the land.We salute Tsingshan for choosing our Zimbabwe.Politicians must put their hands off private investments.
I think this is great. What's the profit-sharing arrangement. How much tax income will our government be getting from this major project? I just don't want it to be another BHP kind of situation.
When will we learn ma zimbo? When in anyone’s life time has zanu done anything to benefit Zimbabweans. How long will this continue? always being played. The ordinary zimbo will benefit zilch from this. With all that money, there will be no hospitals, no roads, no electricity, no water and the list goes on. This will just benefit the few at the top, as always. RGM was a smart man, ask yourself why he refused? The evidence is staring us in the face, look at the state of the country today😢
Why are these people not stating the reason RG Mugabe refused the investor. There must have been a reason for the rejection. It would seem that RGM was protecting national assets.

Nice to hear this. It's over a year later (November 2023). How are things going with this steel mill project?
Chris Mutsvangwa is super excited which is good to see a politician looking forward to the future in a positive mood
