I've been a hardcore Synth and Studio geek since the early 80s. But thanks to you and your videos for keeping the fire burning within myself. I went through a very long period of not composing for awhile until your videos came along. Not only are you a genius but you really inspire people.

Similar scenario for me. Life moves and we tend to abandon some passions from our youth and focus on other things. Often we return to some of our earlier hobbies and activities- all good!

The last time I saw a setup like that and heard that kind of music was in a seedy ground floor flat in Glasgow sometime in 1982.
The guy's name was Rab "the Tab" and he had that same four track, the Roland modular system with sequencer, and some kind of polyphonic keyboard. We were putting an experimental electronic band together, and Rab fitted the bill perfectly. He tried to sell me LSD, but the only money I had was set aside for the new Frank Zappa album.
On reflection, I wish now I'd spent the fiver on the LSD.
Rab was a professor of computer linguistics at Glasgow University, but later lost his job when he was charged with drug offenses.

Was it one of those Frank Zappa albums where the runout groove is like 2/3rds of the disc? If so yea I would've taken the acid too.

I own a Teac 3440 just like the one in the video. Got it from a friend who I helped moving hist studio. His words were "You can have it, or throw it on the trash pile." I also got the matching mixer, unfortunately without the meter board. Both needed some cleaning and maintenance, replacing rubber belts etc.
I am not really using it, I have to admit. but I might, now that I saw this video....

I remember as a teen I came across slagsmalskulbben and was obsessed. Id always liked the likes of 80s synth. Gary Newman etc. But your videos and the insights to the old analogue technology are fucking brilliant. Adds new depth to the music. I'm coming to a gig soon. Good luck with churning the tunes out. All so far have been wicked. I think as a composer you can listen to something for too long. Just keep burning through em you've already got some absolute gems here.
