  • This video tells a story of an adventurous man who built a boat based on the Viking's crafts to sail to Australia's north and the Gulf of Carpentaria. He would undertake this trip alone and has explained the safety features he required when undertaking such a trip. Hope you Enjoy.

    I would have liked to have seen the bottom. True viking boats have a "caraway seed" shaped where there is a bit of a tunnel on each side of the keel giving them a bit more speed.

    I,ve got a similar boat ,,, its called a Yorkshire cobble. , , disend,d. From Viking boat,s that invaded north east Britain. , , interest ing mate. , , brilliant 👍. .

    Viking ships were well able to sail to windward, like other square rigged vessels. I can't imagine why this one wouldnt too.

    As interesting an accent as his boat! I'm sure he's not the type but if he did have a UA-cam channel I'd watch.
